Top AirVuz contributor David Dinu returns after a three year hiatus to bring us this stunning travel video from Pakistan.  Created with a combination of drone and ground camera footage, the video was shot over the course of a three week trip through the country, which the creator calls (and not without good reason) "one of the most beautiful countries I've ever seen".  Treat yourself to some absolutely spectacular views of mountainous northern Pakistan, and also get a glimpse into the lives of its 200 million+ people.

Talented contributor maxloxton brings us this stunning Fall drone video from the Hunza Valley in Pakistan.  Located in the northern part of Gilgit-Baltistan, the country's northernmost territory, the Hunza Valley is one of the country's great national treasures.  Largely rural, the territory's people represent a distinct ethnic group whose culture has been heavily influenced by those of the neighboring parts of Afghanistan and China.  The valley is surrounded by mountains with peaks of up to 25k ft. above sea level or almost 8k m.    

Check out this stunning DVOW nominated film of a centuries-old village in the hills of northern Pakistan, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot oculusfilms.  The area filmed is around the town of Shah Allah Ditta, and its located in the Margalla Hills in the Islamabad Capital Territory, just west of the country's capital city.  The Margalla Hills are part of the Murree Hills, which are in turn part of the Lower Himalayas, a chain of "foothills" which run parallel to and a bit south of the High Himalayas range.

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this stunning drone video from a mountain valley in northern Pakistan.  The video was filmed over and around the Shogran hill station in the Kaghan Valley, which runs for about 100 mi. (around 160 km) through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one of the country's northern provinces.  Part of the region of Hazara, the valley is surrounded by "foothills" of the Himalayan Mountains.  Elevations in the valley range up to 13.7k ft. above sea level or around 4.2k m.  

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this spectacular drone video of Pakistan's Kumrat Valley.  The valley is located in the Upper Dir District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northwestern part of the country.  The valley is part of the foothills of the great Himalayan Mountains.  One of the country's most popular tourist destinations, the Kumrat Valley is roughly a day's drive north of Pakistan's capital city, Islamabad.  The video was shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone.  

Multiple DVOW Winner oculusfilms brings us this spectacular drone video of a waterfall in Pakistan.  It's called the Umbrella Waterfall, and it's located in the Abbottabad District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan's northwesternmost territory.  Situated about 15 mi. (27 km) from the town of Havelian, the Umbrella Waterfall is reachable via a hike from the village of Poona.  It's just a short distance from the famous Sajikot Waterfall, the Umbrella Waterfall was virtually unknown before a video of it posted on YouTube went viral.  

Contributor scientik brings us this awesome drone video of Pakistan's K2 mountain.  The country's highest mountain and one its most recognized sites, the Himalayan peak is the world's second highest mountain after Mt. Everest.  With summit elevation of about 8.6k meters (just over 28k ft.) above sea level, the part of the mountain actually sits in China's remote Xinjiang region.  It's a famously dangerous mountain to climb; the ratio of deaths to successful climbs is about 1:4, the highest of any major peak.   

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this fantastic drone video of Pakistan's Rohtas Fortress, one of the largest in Southern Asia.  The fortress is located near the city of Jhelum in the northern part of the province of Punjab, in what was once a strategic position between the mountains to its north and the Punjab Plain to its south.  The structure dates to the mid-16th century, when a large portion of the subcontinent was ruled by the Suri Empire, which subsequently gave way to the Mughal Empire.  

Check out these stunning drone views of an alpine valley in northern Pakistan, compliments of AirVuz contributor maxloxton.  The Hopar Valley is part of the larger Nagar Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, the country's northernmost region.  The Hopar Valley is home to a number of large glacial formations, and is surrounded by peaks with altitudes over 23k ft. above sea level (over 7k m).  The mountains here are part of the Karakorams, a range located north of the proper Himalayas.  The video was filmed near the height of the Fall Colors season.  

Take a tour of the Pakistani province of Balochistan, compliments of contributor Izhar Ashfaq.  It's one of the country's four main provinces, occupying its southwestern portion.  Its southern border runs along the Arabian Sea, from the western outskirts of Karachi in the east to the Iranian border in the west.  The northern border of the province is the international border with Afghanistan.  It's a largely rural province, although it is home to some cities notably the provincial capital of Quetta.  

In this drone video by AirVuz contributor baberafzai, you'll get an aerial tour of some of the most iconic spots in the northern Pakistani territory of Gilgit-Baltistan, part of the larger historical region of Kashmir.  Featured spots include the Hussaini Bridge and Karimabad and Hunza Valley, a glacial valley near the northern borders with Tajikstan and China; the town of Skardu, which lies closer to the middle of the territory; and Attabad Lake in the Gojal Valley, roughly between Hunza and Skardu.

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist Jackson Groves brings us this magnificent drone video record of a two week mountain climbing trek in the mountains of northern Pakistan.  The objective of the trek was to scale Laila Peak, which is part of the Karakoram, a range situated between the Pamir and the Himalayan Mountains.  With a maximum elevation of 20k ft. above sea level (6.1k m), it is considered one of the world's most challenging climbs.  While this expedition did not reach the peak, the drone views are simply spectacular.

The Pakistani cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are sometimes called the Twin Cities of this giant Southern Asian country.  Rawalpindi (to the south) is part of the province of Punjab, while Islamabad (to the north) is the national capital and is part of its own federal territory.  The Islamabad–Rawalpindi metropolitan area is the country's fourth-largest, after Karachi, Lahore, and Faisalabad.  In this captioned drone video by the Drone Life PK, you'll get an aerial view of this important urban area during the Covid-19 pandemic, 

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this fantastic drone video from the Thar Desert in Pakistan.  The desert covers a massive area of 77k square mi. (about 200k square km) in eastern Pakistan and western India.  The Pakistani portion of the desert lies in the provinces of Sindh and Punjab.  Much of the desert consists of sand dunes that continually shift, particularly during the monsoon season.   Annual rainfall in the desert ranges from 4-20 inches (about 100-500 mm).    

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this stunning drone video from Pakistan's Arabian Sea coastline.  The video was filmed in and around the port city of Gwadar, which is located near the western end of the coastline, near the northern entrance to the Gulf of Oman and not far from the border with Iran.  It's part of Balochistan, the massive province which covers roughly the western third of the country.  Prior to 1958, Gwadar was part of Oman, the sultanate which lies on the opposite side of its namesake gulf.  

Located about 25 mi. (around 25 km) northwest of Lahore, Pakistan, Hiran Minar is one of the most well-known landmarks of the great Mughal Empire which ruled over much of Southern Asia from the 16th to the mid-19th century.  Seen in this drone video by former  Drone Video of the Week Finalist Drone Life PK, Hiran Minar was built in the early 1600's as a hunting lodge for Jahangir, the fourth Mughal Emperor.  The complex is distinguished by its 360 ft. tall minaret (110 m), giant pool, and octagon-shaped pavilion.  

Situated on some of the world's most fought-over lands, it's perhaps not surprising that Pakistan is home to some of its most famous fortresses.  In this drone video by contributor nayyar2006, you'll take an aerial tour of some of the country's most well-known fortifications, including Derawar Fort (at the :51 mark), Naukot Fort (1:20), and Fort Ahmadabad (1:31).  The video concludes with extended tours of two of Pakistan's most famous forts: Rohtas Fort in Punjab, and the Ranikot Fort (considered the world's largest) in Sindh.  

Attabad Lake is a major tourist attraction in Pakistan and is also one of its newest.  It's situated in the Hunza Valley in the northern part of the country, in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains.  Chronologically, Attabad is an infant - it was created in 2010 by a giant landslide, which killed 20 people and displaced thousands.  In this video, contributor and pilot Imrankw flew a drone over the 21 km (13 mi) long lake on the Hunza River, giving us a bird's eye view of its stunning blue waters.  

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms used a DJI Mavic Pro 2 to create this fantastic aerial video of a little-known desert area in the heart of Pakistan.  Sometimes called the Green Desert, it's a (largely) sand-covered area in the Layyah District in the western part of the province of Punjab.  It's situated between the Chenab and Indus Rivers, upstream of where the former joins with the latter waterway.  Sporadic water supplies throughout the district permit some greenery to grow, giving the area its name.    

Check out this fascinating drone tour of Lahore, Pakistan, compliments of new AirVuz contributor vasiq eqbal.  The video was filmed both during and after the Covid-19 lockdowns in the Spring of 2020 which left many of the public spaces in Pakistan's second-largest city virtually empty.  Helpfully captioned, the video features footage of the Pakistan Monument, GC University, the Eiffel Tower, the Lahore Motorway, Data Darbar, the Grand Mosque Bahria, the Old Toninton Market, the Badshahi Mosque, Punjab University, and more.  

Contributor Imrankw created this aerial view of a spot on the Indus River in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of northern Pakistan.  The Indus is one of Asia's most important waterways, comparable in importance to Pakistan as the Ganges is to India.  Like the Ganges, it rises in the highlands of Tibet, a giant plateau which covers much of western China.  After running through a portion of northwestern India, the remainder of its almost 3.2k km (just under 2k mi.) course is through Pakistan,  where it discharges into the Arabian Sea.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist The Drone Life PK brings us this stunning drone video from Pakistan's Galyat Valley.  The valley is located about an hour's drive from the national capital Islamabad, straddling the border between the provinces of Punjab and  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  The valley has become a popular mountain getaway spot for denizens of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metropolitan Area, now the third-largest urban connurbation in this Southern Asian country after Karachi and Lahore.   

Hyderabad Sing, Pakistan (not to be confused with the Indian city of Hyderabad) is a mid-sized urban area in the south-central part of the country.  Hyderabad Sing is the eighth largest city in Pakistan and the second largest (after the port city of Karachi) in the state of Sindh, the province which makes up the southeastern part of the country and which is its second-most populous.  Contributor Sohrabkhan used a drone to give us an amazing bird's eye tour of this city, which was built in the 18th century.

Gomal Zam Dam is located on the Gomal River in the northwestern part of Pakistan.  The Gomal River is a tributary of the Indus River, the country's most important waterway.  The gravity dam serves several purposes, namely irrigation, flood control, and hydroelectric power generation.  The massive project was completed in 2011, and is considered a showpiece infrastructure project in this massive country.  Contributor Majidafridi2003 flew his drone over the dam and reservoir, and treats us to this amazing aerial view.  

Built in the 1960s to replace Karachi as the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad is a prominent example of a planned capital city, in the vein of Brasilia or (from earlier in the century) Canberra.  Currently, the city is home to about a million residents (closer to 4 million in the Islamabad-rawalpindi metro area) who enjoy a high-standard of living and plenty of green space.  In this aerial video, drone pilot Mustafaalinafai employs the popular hyperlapse editing technique to showcase the orderly beauty of Islamabad. 

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this stunning drone video from the mountains of northern Pakistan.  The Kalasha is actually a series of valleys in the Chitral District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the northwesternmost of the country's provinces.  The valleys are surrounded by the peaks of the Hindu Kush, a mountain range which is situated to the west of the Himalayan Mountains and which covers portions of Pakistan, Afganistan, and Tajikstan.  The valleys are inhabited by the indigenous Kalash people.  

Contributor and pilot Imrankw created this magnificent drone video of the famed Karak District of northern Pakistan.  The district is part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, which covers much of the northwestern portion of the country.  The Karak area is known for its red hills, which you'll see clearly in this video.  The ground under these beautiful hills is mineral rich.  Resources here range from salt, which has been mined here since ancient times, to oil and gas in the current environment.  

Top contributor AbdulHanan created this beautiful aerial collage of northern Pakistan as a tribute to the nation's observance of its independence day.  Most of the footage is from the spectacular Hunza River Valley, in the extreme northern part of the country.  This area is part of the territory of Gilgit-Baltistan, one of the country's seven first-order administrative units.  It's part of the historical region of Kashmir, which was divided between Pakistan and India when they became independent of the British Empire.

Check out this drone video of a stunning beach area in southern Pakistan, compliments of contributor Shayhaq Baloch. Kund Malir sits on the Gulf of Oman (a part of the Arabian Sea) in the province of Balochistan, which covers the southwestern part of the country.  Kund Malir is part of Hingol National Park, Pakistan's largest, which sits a bit to the west of Karachi (Pakistan's largest city).  It's accessible via the Makran Coastal Highway, national road which runs along Pakistan's southern coastline.  

Check out this amazing vlog, which features aerial footage from one of the most formidable fortresses on the Indian Subcontinent.  It's called Rohtas Fort, and it's near the city in the province of Punjab (the most populous of Pakistan's four provinces, home to over half the country's population).  It was built in the mid-16th century and was captured shortly thereafter by the Mughul Empire, then captured by Sikh forces in 1825.  The fort could hold a garrison of 30,000 men and was one of the largest in Asia.   

Top AirVuz contributor The Drone Life PK created this excellent drone video of Pakistan's third largest city: Faisalabad.  Located in the north central part of the giant province of Punjab, Faisalabad lies less than 200 km (around 110 mi.) west of Lahore.  By Pakistani standards, Faisalabad is a comparative infant of a city - it was built during the middle of the British Raj years, in the late 1800's.  Among other distinctions, Faisalabad is considered to be the most industrialized of Pakistan's major cities.  

Multiple Drone vIdeo of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this excellent drone video from Pakistan's Naukot Fort.  It's located in the city of Mithi in the Tharparkar District, in the southern part of the province of Sindh.  Built in the first part of the 19th century, the fortification is constructed almost entirely of brick.  It's sometimes called  "Gateway to the Thar Desert" by virtue of its location relative to the vast desert which covers parts of modern-day Pakistan and India.  

Gilgit-Baltistan is the northernmost of Pakistan's provinces and far less populous than the others.  It's part of the historical region of Kashmir, which has been the subject of several wars and near-continuous tension between India and Pakistan since the collapse of the British Raj.  It is also home to some of the country's most beautiful scenery.  Check out this drone video of the province from SajidShah, which features footage of Blind Lake in Deosai National Park, Shigar, Shardu, and more.  

Contributor MujtabaRaza created this fantastic drone video Pakistan's portion of the historical region of Kashmir, which is shared (and contested) by Pakistan, India, and China.  The video features footage of Murree, is a resort town in the far eastern part of the Punjab province (Pakistan's most populous province).  It's considered to be a gateway to the Pakistani states of Kashmir - Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.  The remainder of the video features footage from Azad Kashmir, which lies just to the east.  

The Pakistani city of Karachi is not nearly as old as Lahore, nor is it the capital since it ceded that position to the planned city of Islamabad in the 1960's.  It is, however, the country's largest and richest city, and in most respects its most important.  Situated on the Arabian Sea, Karachi is the capital of the province of Sindh, Pakistan's second most populous after Punjab.  Check out this aerial view of this metropolis of over 15 million, which was founded in its present form in the 18th century.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor exploringshutter brings us this fantastic piece exploring a little-seen side of Pakistan - its animal wildlife.  Shot over the course of five years, the reel features footage of the country's four-legged mammalian and avian inhabitants.  The physical backdrop ranges from the country's mountainous north to the plains and coastal regions in the south.  Watch it and you will gain a new appreciation for this giant country on the Indian Subcontinent.  

Check out this fascinating drone video of Pakistan's capital city Islamabad under a near "lockdown" during the Covid-19 epidemic in the Spring of 2020, compliments of AirVuz contributor The Drone Life PK.  A separate Federal Territory surrounded by the giant province of Punjab, Islamabad was the site of one of the country's first two confirmed infections announced on February 26th.  The capital began imposing mandatory closures on March 25, although as of the first week of April it had fewer than 100 confirmed cases.  

Join this cinematic wintertime journey as contributor Siemo aerially films Pakistan's K2 mountain, the world's second highest peak.  The mountain, which has a maximum elevation of just over 8.6k meters (just over 28.2k ft.) is situated in the country's Gilgit-Baltistan territory, near the border with China.  Part of the Karakoram chain, K2 is considered the world's deadliest mountain in terms of the number of lives lost relative to the number of people who have successfully scaled the peak.  

Himalayan salt doesn't technically come from the Himalayan Mountains.  Rather, it's mined in the Salt Range, a range of mountains which lies well to the south of the more well-known mountains but also part of northern Pakistan.  In this drone video by AirVuz contributor nayyar2006, you'll get an aerial tour of the Salt Range, which is part of the giant province of Punjab.  The tallest peaks here range up to about 5k ft. above sea level or around 1.5k m.  The range is also home to a number of coal mines.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this fantastic drone video of the city of Rawalpindi, Pakistan.  Commonly known simply as Pindi, Rawalpindi is the "twin" (albeit much older) city to Islamabad, the capital of this giant country.  Once a key Mughal Empire outpost and later an important Sikh stronghold, Rawalpindi is the country's fourth-largest city.  Featured locations include (in order of first appearance) the city's green-roofed train station, the Central Jamia Masjid Mosque, St. Paul's Church, and more.  

Content creator The Drone Life PK used a DJI Mavic Pro and a DJI Osmo Pocket to create this visually captivating dronelapse piece of Islamabad, Pakistan.  Located in the northeastern part of the country in a federally-administered territory, Islamabad was Pakistan's answer to Brasilia, the planned Brazilian capital which preceded it by about a decade.  Replacing Karachi as the national capital, it's the core of the Islamabad–Rawalpindi metropolitan area, the country's third-largest.

In this video by Yasir Rana, you'll get an aerial tour of the vast western province of Pakistan known as Balochistan.  Covering the entire western half of the country, it's the largest of the country's four main provinces in land area and the least populated.  The video includes footage of the following locations along the province's Arabian Sea coastline and arid interior: Sapat Beach, the Coastal Highway, Golden Beach, Gadani, Hingol National Park, Princes of Hope, Gawadar, Dasht, the Great Sphinx, and Buzi Pass.

Check out this drone video of Pakistan's most famous Buddhist monastery, compliments of contributor Backpacker Let's Explore the World.  It's called Takht-i-Bahi, and it's located near the town of Mardan near the middle of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.  It's actually a complex which includes the monastery, a court, assembly hall, and other buildings.  The monastery, which is the oldest part, dates to the first century AD.  It hasn't been used since the 7th century, falling into a ruined but well-preserved state.  

Multiple Drone Video of the Week/Month Winner oculusfilms brings us this excellent drone video from the Swat Valley in the mountains of northern Pakistan.  The video was filmed in the area around Shahi Bagh near the town of Itror in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one of Pakistan's main northern provinces.  It's part of the valley of the Swat River, which is lined by the Hindu Kush Mountains, which lie to the west of the Himalayan Mountains and whose peaks along the Swat Valley reach altitudes of up to about 19.5k ft. above sea level (around 6k m).   

Chakdara is a historic town in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which was known as the Northwest-Frontier Province until 2010.  The village lies near the point where the Panjkora river joins the Swat River, which feeds into the Kabul River and thence the mighty Indus.  In effect, it's the gateway to the region known as the Swat River Valley, home of some of Pakistan's most beautiful natural scenery. Brand-new AirVuz contributor and drone pilot oculusfilms brings us this fantastic aerial view from the mountains of northern Pakistan.  Filmed with a DJI Mavic Pro 2, the video was filmed in the hills around the town of Murree.  The area is located in the Rawalpindi District, the northernmost of the 36 districts of the province of Punjab.  The hills here are foothills of the Pir Panjal Range, which is in turn part of the greater range known as the Lesser Himalayas, a chain which runs roughly parallel to the famous High Himalayas.  

Check out this stunning drone video from northern Pakistan, compliments of The Drone Life PK.  It was filmed in an area around the hill station of Shogran, in the northern part of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly the North West Frontier Province).  The video includes footage of the Payee Meadow and the crystal-clear Siri Lake.  The hills here overlook the Kaghan Valley, which runs for over 150 km (around 95 mi.) and is home to some of the country's most spectacular natural scenery. 

Sajikot Waterfall is one of the most well known in Pakistan. It's located in the Abbottabad District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly the North-West Frontier Province), one of the country's four main provinces.  The falls are accessible from the national capital Islamabad; it's a roughly three hour drive, most of which is on the Hazara Expressway.  In this drone video by contributor The Drone Life PK, you can check out this beautiful falls, which drop into a deceptively shallow emerald-water pool.  

Take a tour of the magnificent Skardu Valley in northern Pakistan, compliments of AirVuz contributor vasiq qbal.  The valley is part of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan's northernmost territory and the northern part of the historical region of Kashmir.  The video features outstanding aerial views of a number of notable spots in the valley, including the 16th century Kharphocho Fort (Skardu Fort), the Shangrila Resort Skardu, the 19th century Khaplu Palace/Fortress, Upper Kachura Lake, the city of Skardu, and more.  

Check out this drone video of one of the most famous Hindu temple complexes in Pakistan, compliments of Backpacker Let's Explore the World.  It's the Katas Raj Temples (Katas Raj Temples), a group of temples connected by a series of walkways.  The complex is situated in the Rawalpindi District, the northernmost district of the Punjab Province.  The pond around which the temples are built is noted extensively in ancient Indian literature and is connected to Shiva, one of the principal Hindu gods. 

Take in these excellent drone views from the rivers of the Central Punjab region of Pakistan, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot nayyar2006.  The name of the region is somewhat confusing, as it's actually the northeastern part of the giant Pakistani province.  It is, however, the middle of the historical region of Punjab, which is shared between Pakistan and India to the east.  The name Punjab means the "Land of Five Waters", refering to the five tributaries of the Indus River which cross it.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist maxloxtron brings us this stunning Fall drone video from northern Pakistan.  The video was filmed in the Skardu Valley, which is located in Gilgit-Baltistan, the country's northernmost territory and part of the historical region of Kashmir.  Situated at an altitude of about 8.2k ft. above sea level (around 2.5k m), the valley runs a length of about 25 mi. (around 40 km) and encompasses the confluence of the Shigar and Indus Rivers.  The Skardu provides access to some of the world's tallest peaks.

Lahore is Pakistan's second largest city but its clear cultural center.  Not surprisingly, the one-time capital of the great Mughal Empire is home to some of the most well-known mosques in Islam.  In this drone video by The Drone Life PK, you'll see two of them: (1) the Wazir Khan Mosque, completed in 1641 and generally considered the most intricate architecturally intricate; and (2) Badshahi Mosque; built from 1671-3 on the orders of the Emperor Aurangzeb, it was the world's largest mosque for a time.  

Check out this drone video of one of the largest reservoir lakes in Pakistan, compliments of The Drone Life PK.  It's called Khanpur Lake, and it is created by the Khanpur Dam on the Haro River, about 40 km (around 25 mi.) from the capital city of Islamabad.  Construction started on this  massive hydroengineerng project in the late 1960's, and it wasn't completed until 1983.  In addition to providing water recreational activities like what you see in the video, the lake holds up to 140 million cubic meters (about 110k acre-feet) of drinking water.  

Check out these stunning wintertime aerial views of a famous mountain valley in northern Pakistan, compliments of top AirVuz contributor and drone pilot AbdulHanan.  It's called Fairy Meadows, and it's in Gilgit-Baltistan, the northernmost Pakistani territory.  The base altitude of the valley is about 3.3k meters above sea level (around 10.8k ft.).  Fairy Meadows is known as the starting point for trekkers tackling the great Nanga Parbat, the western anchor of the Himalayas and the world's ninth-highest highest mountain.  

The Faisal Mosque is a major attraction in the Pakistani capital city of Islamabad.  Completed in 1986, it is named after its principal benefactor - King Fahd of Saudi Arabia.  Lacking a traditional dome, it is designed to resemble a Bedoiun tent.  Its four minarets each stand almost 80 meters tall (260 ft.).  Seen in this drone video by Backpacker Let's Explore, the mosque covers about 5k square meters (54k square ft.).  Still Pakistan's largest mosque, it was the largest in the world from 1986-1993.

Pakistan's Fort Munro is what's known as a hill station - a town built at some elevation above a plain or valley in former Southern Asian colonial territories which allowed Europeans to escape the heat.  In the post-colonial era, Fort Munro (also known as Tuman Leghari), like many hill stations, came to serve a similar role for the native population.  Located about 85 km (around 50 mi.) from the city of Dera Ghazi Khan in the Punjab Province, you can check out Fort Munro from above in this excellent drone video by vasiq eqbal.  

AirVuz contributor jawadahmedparas brings us this outstanding drone video of Muzaffarabad, an important city in northern Pakistan.  Muzaffarabad is the largest city in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, a largely self-governing region which represents the western portion of the larger historical region of Kashmir that is divided between India and Pakistan.  Located near the confluence of the Jhelum and Neelum Rivers, Muzaffarabad was heavily damaged during the 2005 Kashmir Earthquake that killed tens of thousands of people in the area. 

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this stunning drone video of Pakistan's Noori Waterfall.  Located about an hour's drive from Islamabad in the northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the waterfall has a drop of about ten feet.  The waterfall existed in obscurity until a YouTube video in 2020 went viral, showing its beauty to much of the world for the first time.  It is accessible via a roughly 15 minute hike from the nearest road access.  The video was shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone.  

Check out these fantastic drone views of northern Pakistan, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot The Drone Life PK.  The area filmed is the Kaghan Valley, which is located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the northern part of the country.  The valley is created by the Lower Himalayas, a chain of "foothills" which are part of the larger Himalayan Mountain System.  Extending for about 150 km (around 95 mi.), the valley has a maximum elevation of about 4.2k meters above sea level or around 13.7k ft. 

For a second upload to AirVuz, contributor and pilot oculusfilms brings us this stunning drone video from a village in the hills of northern Pakistan.  The video was filmed in the vicinity of Bandi Mera, which is situated in the Abbottabad District of the giant province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  Located a bit north of the Murree Hills area, the hills here are part of the Lower Himalayas, a range of "foothills" which run parallel to the High Himlalayas range to the north.  The area is a popular destination for hikers.  

Check out this fantastic drone video of a popular tourist spot in northern Pakistan, compliments of contributor Lost in the right direction.  It's a reservoir lake created by the Khanpur Dam on the Haro River in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan's northwesternmost province.  The dam was completed in 1983.  Originally built primarily to supply drinking water to nearby Islamabad and its "twin city" Rawalpindi as well as agricultural water for the surrounding region, the lake has become a major tourist destination.

Check out this excellent drone video of Pakistan's giant Khanpur Dam, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot oculusfilms.  The dam sits on the Haro River less than an hour's drive from Islamabad in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  It was completed in 1983, following a 15 year construction period.  The project supplies drinking water to the national capital city as well as to its "twin" city Rawalpindi.  The reservoir's distinctive blue-green water has also led it to become a major tourist attraction, 

Check out these drone views of a giant new mix-use development in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, compliments of The Drone Life PK.  It's called the Centaur, and it includes office skyscrapers, a luxury hotel, a multi-floor shopping mall, a residential tower, and more.  The complex opened in 2011, following a construction period of over half a decade.  It's also home to an indoor playland known as Fun City.  Controversially, the complex's operator has imposed an entry fee on visitors, from which certain types are exempt.

Check out this fantastic drone video of a famous glacier in the Himalaya Mountains of northern Pakistan, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot be_mesmerized.  Rakhiot Glacier lies below the peak of the same name, which rises to a summit elevation of 23.2k ft. or around 7.1k m.  The glacier is about 8.5 mi long (around 14 km) and covers an area of around 12 square mi. (about 32 square km).  The area is part of Gilgit-Baltistan, formerly known as the Northern Areas, which in turn is part of the larger region of Kashmir. 

Check out this drone video of one of the most important mausoleums in the Islamic world, compliments of content creator and pilot MultanDotCom.  It's known as the Shrine of Bahauddin Zakariya, and it's in Multan, Pakistan.  The landmark was built in the 13th century and is dedicated to Bahauddin Zakariya, considered one of the great Muslim mystics.  Multan is the largest city in the southern part of the Punjab province; it lies on the banks of the Chenab River, a major tributary of the Indus River.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist The Drone Life PK brings us this fantastic drone video of the Grand Jamia Mosque (also known as the Bahria Grand Mosque) in Lahore, Pakistan.  Completed in 2014, the mosque is capable of holding up to 70k worshippers (25k of whom can be indoors).  Based on its enclosed area, it's the third-largest mosque in Pakistan as of 2021, and one of the 15 largest in the world.  Its four minarets each stand about 165 ft. tall or around 50m.  The mosque was designed by Pakistani architect Nayyar Ali Dada.  

Former DVOW Finalist nayyar2006 created this amazing drone video of Pakistan's Ranikot Fort, one of the world's largest fortifications.  Ranikot Fort is located about an hour's drive north of Hyderabad in Sindh, the country's southeastern province.  While current fortress structure dates to the 17th century, it took on much of its present shape early in the 19th century.  Ranikot's walls run a total of about 20 mi. (32 km), making it the world's largest fortress measured by interior space.  It's sometimes called the Great Wall of Sindh.    

Check out these drone views of northern Pakistan, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Aka Shani.  The area filmed is around Mt. Rakaposhi in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan's northernmost territory.  The mountain is part of the Karakoram range which also covers parts of Afghanistan, China, India, and Tajikistan.  Mt. Rakaposhi is one of the 30 highest peaks in the world, with a summit elevation of about 7.8k meters above sea level or 25.6k ft.  The video was captured in the course of an 11 day bike trip through the region.  

New AirVuz contributor jawadahmedparas brings us this stunning drone video from a valley in the mountains of northern Pakistan.  It's called the Neelum Valley, and it's located in the Neelum District of Azad Kashmir, the northernmost region of Pakistan, which represents the western part of the larger region of Kashmir.  Situated within the Himalayan Mountain range, the peaks which surround the Neelum Valley reach up to 17k ft. above sea level (around 5.2k m).  The video includes footage of Athmuqam Tehsil, the district capital.  

AirVuz contributor nayyar2006 brings us this fascinating drone video of an important Bronze Age ancient ruins site in Pakistan.  It's called Harappa, and it's located a few mi./km north of the city of Sahiwal in the province of Punjab.  Harappa is one of the best surviving archaelogical sites from the Indus Valley Civilization, which emerged on the plain of the Indus River around 3300 BC and lasted until around 1300 BC.  Harappa is believed to have over 20k inhabitants at its height, making it one of the civilization's largest cities.  

Check out these bird's eye views of the Pakistani capital city of Islamabad, compliments of AirVuz contributor mehmoodyousafzaii.  One of the youngest cities on the Indian Subcontinent, Islamabad was built in the 1960's as a planned city to replace Karachi as the national capital.  Now one of the country's ten largest cities, it is also the most modern and one of the wealthiest.   The video captures Islamabad's sleek skyscrapers as well as its mosques, some of which are amongst Pakistan's largest.  

As the Covid-19 coronavirus spread through Pakistan in March of 2020, initially the southern province of Sindh saw the most confirmed cases.  As the month wore on, the giant province of Punjab emerged as the country's epicenter.  The Punjab outbreak was concentrated in its capital city of Lahore, Pakistan's second-largest city after Karachi and one of the 20 largest in the world.  AirVuz contributor Videoline productions managed to aerially film the great city as it was virtually shut down by social distancing measures.  

Top AirVuz contributor nayyar2006 brings us this excellent drone video from the Pakistani province of Sindh.  Pakistan's southernmost and second-most populous province, Sindh is home to some of the most fertile part of the Indus River, which flows through it en route to its mouth near the city of Karachi.  The "star" of the video is the Kot Diji Fort, which is located just east of the Indus River and on the western edge of the That Desert in the Khairpur District.  The fortress was built by the Talpur dynasty in the late 1700's.      

Check out these drone views of Pakistan's Makran Coastal Highway, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot nayyar2006.  Also known as National Highway 10, the road stretches for about 400 mi. (around 650 km) along the country's Arabian Sea coastline in the giant province of Balochistan, from Gawadar in Pakistan's southwestern corner to the great port city of Karachi in the east.  Completed in the early 2000's, the highway provided the first paved road connection to Gawadar, an emerging regional transportation and distribution hub.  

Explore Pakistan's Cholistan Desert by drone in this excellent aerial video by AirVuz contributor and pilot nayya2006.  The Cholistan Desert is located in the southern part of the province of Punjab.  The Cholistan forms part of the larger Thar Desert, which extends to the south into the province of Sindh as well as eastward into the Indian state of Rajasthan.  Until the First Millennium BC, the Cholistan was actually a fertile plain before changing river flows rendered it arid; it subsequently became an important caravan trade center.

Check out this drone video of a popular beach in the great metropolis of Karachi, Pakistan, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot ozairrao.  It's called Hawke's Bay Beach, and it's located on its namesake bay on the Arabian Sea, about 20 km (around a dozen mi.) southwest of the center of the country's largest city.  In addition to being a popular spot for camping, horseback riding, or simply soaking up rays, the beach is known as a nesting ground for the green sea turtle and the olive ridley sea turtle.

The Badshahi Mosque is one of the largest and most important in Pakistan, one of the world's most populous Muslim-majority countries.  It's located in the city of Lahore, the country's capital and second-largest city.  The mosque was built in the late 17th century, during the height of the Mughal Empire.  Located on the outskirts of the old walled city of Lahore, the mosque is the country's second-largest and the largest from the Mughal Period.  You can check out this important mostque from above in this drone video by The Drone Life PK.  

Contributor maxloxton returns to AirVuz after a five year hiatus with this stunning drone video from northern Pakistan.  The video was filmed in the Skardu Valley, which is located in Gilgit-Baltistan, the country's northernmost territory.  The valley runs a length of about 25 mi. Top AirVuz contributor nayyar2006 brings us this excellent drone video from northern Pakistan.  The "star" of the video is the Rohtas Fortress, which is located near the city of Jhelum in the northern part of the province of Punjab.  Situated in what was once a strategic position between the mountains to its north and the Punjab Plain to its south, the 16th century fortification is one of the largest in Southern Asia.  The video also features views of the Ayubia National Park and some forested areas of northern Punjab.  

AirVuz contributor and pilot The Drone Life PK brings us this eerie drone video of one of Pakistan's largest cities under community quarantine during the novel coronavirus pandemic in the Spring of 2020.  Rawalpindi, sometimes known as Pindi, is located in the giant state of Punjab, adjacent to the national capital of Islamabad.  Like the rest of the country, Pakistan's fourth-largest city was under what was in effect a shelter-in-place order which went into place on April 1 to contain the spread of the disease.

Contributor Drrazaali used a DJI Mavic 2 drone to create this stunning aerial video of Hiran Minar, a Mughal era complex in Pakistan's Punjab Province.  The structure is situated near the city of Sheikhupura, one of the largest cities in this important northern province which lies a short distance from the state capital of Lahore.  Hiran Minar was built on the site of an older game preserve by the 17th century Mughal Emperor Jahangir.  The Mughal Empire was the most powerful on the Indian subcontinent for over two centuries.

Check out this fascinating drone video of a famous rock formation in Pakistan, compliments of brand-new AirVuz contributor and pilot Aaqib Manzoor.  It's called the Princess of Hope, and it's located in the Hingol National Park in the province of Balochistan, about 120 mi. (around 190 km) west of Karachi.  The formation, which resembles a princess gazing off into the distance, is named after USA actress Angelina Jolie.  The Academy Award winner visited here on a trip to Pakistan in 2002.
