Located in the north central part of the giant province of Punjab, Faisalabad lies less than 200 km (around 110 mi.) west of Lahore. By Pakistani standards, Faisalabad is a comparative infant of a city - it was built during the middle of the British Raj years, in the late 1800's. Among other distinctions, Faisalabad is considered to be the most industrialized of Pakistan's major cities.
