Closely associated with mythical vampires, Transylvania is a region of Romania. A very real place, it covers much of the northern and western parts of the country. The region consists of the Great Transylvania Plateau (one of the world's greatest plains) and the various mountain ranges which mostly surround it, all of which are part of the Carpathians Mountains system. Transylvania has only been part of modern-day Romania since the end of World War I; prior to that it was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire which collapsed at the conclusion of the conflict. In addition to being home to some of the most famous castles and fortresses in Europe, Transylvania was the home of Count Dracula, the anti-hero of the 19th century Gothic novel of the same name and countless movies since then. With this video collection you'll get the best bird's eye views of this mysterious land in Southeastern Europe. Aerial photo: “Fortified” by AirVuz contributor and drone pilot dronemob.ro.
