Râșnov Fortress, Romania
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Râșnov Citadel is a famous fortress in the southeastern part of the Romanian region of Transylvania. It was built in the 13th century to protect the inhabitants of the namesake city from invaders coming over the Southern Carpathian Mountains through the Bran Pass. The fortress withstood such invasions from the Tartars and later Ottoman forces, although it fell in 1612 when the invaders were able to cut off the defenders' water supply.
