Recent AirVuz Staff Picks

Prepare to be blown away by this fantastic drone video from Antarctica by top AirVuz contributor scientik.  The video was filmed over the Southern Ocean, the body of water which surrounds the seventh continent.  It captures the massive icebergs which are produced by the world's largest ice sheet, which covers a massive area of 5.4 million square mi. (14 million square km) - nearly twice the area of Australia.  It also features some spectacular wildlife shots including penguins, seals, and (the "stars" of the video) humpback whales.  

Here's an amazing view of one of Mexico's famous Colima volcano, compliments of former DVOW Finalist Gabriele Ante.  Known locally as Volcán de Colima or Volcán de Fuego, it's located on the border between the states of Colima and Jalisco in the west-central part of Mexico.  Colima is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, having erupted at least 40 times in recorded history.  With a peak elevation of about 12.5k ft. (3.8k m) it's part of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt which runs through the middle of the country.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist pioandreaperi created this stunning aerial video of Italy's Mt. Etna, one of the world's most well known active volcanoes.  Situated on the giant island of Sicily, the mountain stands about 10.9k ft. (about 3.3k m) above sea level.  The mountain is in a near-constant state of eruption and is considered quite dangerous.  Famously, Mt. Etna "played the role" of Planet Mustafar in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005), the last of the "prequel" trilogy.

Check out this stunning first person view (FPV) drone ride along a ridge in the Spanish Pyrenees, compliments of AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot VictorLS1990.  Filmed in a single shot, the video will take you along the top of the ridge known as Serra dels Canals, descending all the way down to the Pantà d'Oliana reservoir (part of the Segre River) near the town of Oliana in Lleida, one of the provinces of the Catalonia region.  The mountains here are part of the Turp range, one of several chains which form the Pre-Pyrenees Mountains.  

Enjoy these FPV drone views of Bosnia and Herzegovina, compliments of AnemosFPV.  The video opens with a shot of some horses running along the Panonian Plain in northern Bosnia, followed by some shots from the mountains.  Starting at the :25 mark, you'll see the medieval town of Mostar and its famous bridge ((Stari Most), across the the Neretva River, followed by a fly-by of the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo.  Other highlights include Prokoško Lake (1:41), Blidinje Lake (2:00), the clock tower in the town of Travnik (3:14), and more.  

Top AirVuz contributor BashirAbuShakra brings us this magnificent drone video from Russia's Lake Baikal.  Located in southern Siberia, Baikal is the world's deepest lake, with a maximum depth of 5.4k ft. (just over 1.6k m).  Covering over 12k square mi. (around 32k m), it's also (1) the largest in terms of water volume, holding an astounding 5.7k cubic miles of water (23.6k cubic km), nearly a quarter of the surface freshwater on earth; (2) the world's oldest lake (25-30 million years); and (3) one of the clearest.  

Top AirVuz contributor 21Aerials brings us this fantastic drone video of Budapest, Hungary.  The video opens with a shot of the Liberty Bridge (Freedom Bridge), followed by a view of the nearby St. Gerard Sagredo Statue.  Starting at around the :12 mark, there's a stunning low light timelapse shot flying up the Danube River.  At :21, you'll see Buda Castle, on the western (Buda) side of the river, followed by the Ferris Wheel of Budapest.  At :47, there's a spectacular shot of the Parliament Building, on the Pest (eastern) Danube bank.

Top AirVuz contributor Postandfly brings us this stunning drone video of the Xochimilco District of Mexico City.  Xochimilco is located southeast of the CDMX (the city center), roughly between the two great volcanoes which mark the southern end of the Valley of Mexico.  It was once an independent Aztec city located on the southern shore of its namesake lake, which was largely drained following the Spanish conquest.   What remains of the lake is a vast network of canals which can be toured via gondola boats.   

Multiple DVOW Winner Łukasz Jaros brings us this fantastic travel video from the Philippines.  The video features footage from the following spots: Bohol, one of the main islands of the Central Visayas (the islands in the central part of the archipelago); El Nido, the famed beach area at the northern end of Palawan, the westernmost main islands of the Philippines; and Port Barton, a small port town about a third of the way down the western side of Palawan.  The video was filmed with a DJI Mavic 3 drone as well as ground cameras.   

Tp AirVuz contributor coastal garage earned a Drone  Video of the Week Finalist nod for this outstanding video from the Indonesia's volcanic Mt. Semeru.  Semeru is situated just to the south of Mt. Bromo in East Java, the province covering the eastern side of the island of Java.  While not as well-recognized as Bromo, Semeru is actually the highest mountain on Java, with a peak altitude of about 12k ft. above sea level (just under 3.7k m).  It is quite active, having erupted over 50 times in the past few hundred years. 

Top AirVuz contributor Drone Mood won the Drone Video of the Week contest in February of 2025 with this stunning video from Italy's Dolomite Mountains.  The video was filmed in the wintertime with a DJI Mavic 3, a first person view (FPV) drone, and a Sony ground camera.  Part of the Southern Limestone Alps, the Dolomite Mountains cover parts of several provinces in northeastern Italy, primarily in the Trentino-Alto-Adigio and Veneto regions.  Their peaks reach altitudes of up to about 11k ft. above sea level (around 3.3k m).  

Top AirVuz contributor T-christ-T earned another Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot with this fantastic drone video from the western Chinese province of Qinghai.  The video was filmed over the Qaidam Basin, an area of saline lakes and related drainage basins in the Haixi Prefecture, which covers most of the northern part of this giant province, China's largest by land area but third-smallest by population.  The basin, and most of the province, is located on the Tibetan Plateau, the source of most of China's great waterways.  

Prepare to be amazed by this stunning drone reel from Montenegro by top AirVuz contributor sinaysky.  A Finalist for the DVOW in February of 2025, the video opens with a series of spectacular shots from the mountains which cover much of the interior of this Southeast European country.  Starting at the :37 mark, there are a series of shots from Kotor Bay, beginning with a view of the Our Lady of the Rocks church, which sits on its own island in this Adriatic Sea inlet.  Other highlights include the Đurđevića Tara Bridge (1:37).   

Top AirVuz contributor rezarafizadeh earned a spot as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in February of 2025 for this fantastic drone video from Iran.  At the :22 mark, there's a stunning top-down shot of a green meadow, and at :42 there's view of some beautiful hills.  At 1:19, you'll rise up through a canyon, followed by a shot of a snow-capped mountain.  Just after 2:00, you'll see the hilltop Rudkhan Castle in the northern province of Gilan, followed by shots of mosques, ancient ruins, and the Caspian Sea coastline.  

French FPV drone pilot leo_pernin was picked as a DVOW Finalist and also made the FPV Pilots to Watch list with this fantastic 2025 FPV showreel.  The reel features an impressive mix of landscape, action, and indoor "cinewhoop" style shots.  At around the :15 mark, you'll chase a skier barreling down a mountain slope, followed by a shot "intercepting" some hikers along a mountain ridge.  Other highlights include an incredible sequence flying through an ice cave (:25), a dive towards an alpine lake (:50), a waterfall dive (1:04), and more. 

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist 21Aerials brings us this fantastic drone video from Cape Town, South Africa, one of the world's most beautiful cities.  Teh video opens with a shot of Lion's Head, a prominent mountain just west of central Cape Town.  At the :13 mark, you'll see the city's Atlantic Ocean coastline, and at :18 there's a nice nighttime shot of the city's skyline.  At :38, you'll see the Cape Wheel, just east of Green Point Park, and at :43 you'll see Cape Town Stadium, the city's largest.  

AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Mark59 brings us this fantastic aerial video of Fuerteventura, one of Spain's Canary Islands chain off the coast of Northern Africa.  Fuerteventura is the fourth-largest of the Canaries by population and the second-largest by land area, after Tenerife.  The video features stunning shots of the island's volcanic interior as its white sand beaches.  An emerging eco-tourism destination, the entire island has been designated as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.  

Top contributor nayyar2006 brings us this fantastic drone video of a trio of castles in Austria.  First up is Schloss Schönbühel, a 12th century landmark in the town of Schönbühel-Aggsbach on the Danube River in the state of Lower Austria.  At the 1:02 mark, you'll see the medieval fortress of Hinterhaus in Spitz, another Danube River town in Lower Austria.  Starting at 2:37, you'll see Aggstein Castle, another Danube castle.  The last stop, starting at 2:59, is Hochosterwich Castle, which is located in the southern state of Carinthia.  

Top contributor haussmannvisuals brings us this stunning drone video from the volcanoes of Lanzarote, part of Spain's Canary Islands chain off the coast of Africa.  Like the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote was created by volcanic activity arising from the breakup of two tectonic plates.  It is quite young, having emerged from the Atlantic Ocean about 15 million years ago: a mere blink of the eye in geological terms.  Lanzarote's highest point (Peñas del Chache) has a maximum elevation of about 2.2k ft. above sea level (about 670 m).   

Top AirVuz contributor ArtyrCarvalho brings us this spectacular drone video of Portugal's Pena Palace, one of the Europe's top castles.  Located in the hills of the Sintra province, northwest of Lisbon, Pena Palace was built in the mid-19th century on the site of a ruined medieval monastery.  Once a summer residence for the Portuguese Royal Family, it's considered one of the best examples of Romanticist architecture.  The video was filmed with a DJI Mavic Pro 3 as well as a DJI Avata first person view (FPV) drone.    

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot FADAH_FPV was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist and also earned a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list for this fantastic FPV video from Greenland.  The video was shot amidst the icebergs off the coast of the massive island, whose ice sheet is the second largest in the world after Antarctica and the largest source of icebergs in the Northern Hemisphere.  At the :45 mark, you'll be treated to some stunning views of migratory whales.  

Check out this drone video of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge near Tampa, Florida, compliments of AirVuz contributor Bumble Bee Productions.  The cable-stayed bridge spans the lower part of the bay (an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico), connecting St. Petersburg to Terra Ceia.  Completed in 1987, it has a total length of just over four miles (a little under seven km), with a longest single span of about 1.1k ft. or 366 mm.  The bridge replaced an earlier structure which catastrophically collapsed when struck by a cargo ship in 1980.

AirVuz contributor VeronikaChi brings us this excellent drone video of Canada's tallest lighthouse.  The Cap-des-Rosiers Lighthouse is located near the eastern tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, at the mouth of the St. Lawrence River.  Constructed in 1858, it stands 112 ft (34 m) tall, making it visible up to 28 mi. (44 km) away in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.  Automated since 1981, it's been designated as a National Historic Site of Canada as well as a Federal Heritage Building by the Canadian government.  

Multiple DVOW Finalist benhawkinsalive used a DJI Mavic Pro 3 to create this stunning aerial video of the coast of Cornwall, England.  The southwesternmost county of England, for centuries Cornwall has been synonymous with British seafaring culture.  The video was filmed during the course of a winter storm, for which the Cornish coast is also famous.  If you watch the slow-motion shots demonstrating the power of the waves crashing into the shoreline, you'll understand why Cornwall's coast has been the scene of thousands of shipwrecks. 

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner davetke2002 brings us this stunning drone video from the famous Serengeti of Tanzania, Africa.  The video was filmed over mingling herds of zebra's and wildebeest, both of which are native only to eastern and southern Africa.  The Serengeti covers about 12k square mi. (around 30k square km) in the northern part of the country.  It is the home of the world's largest annual animal migration, which typically encompasses over a quarter million zebra's and roughly seven times that many wildebeest. 

Sidsmith85 used a variety of drones and cameras to create this stunning travel video from Turkey.  The video opens with shots of Lake Tuz, a large salt lake located roughly near the middle of the country.  At 1:04, you'll see the Lake Meke crater lake, a bit to the south of Lake Tuz, followed by the town of Tashkent.  At 2:03, there's a great shot of the castle and city of Alanya, on the Mediterranean coastline. Other highlights include the balloons and "fairy tale" castle rock formations of the Cappadocia region in central Turkey.  
 

Ride along with top AirVuz contributor salva.tours for this marvelous first person view (FPV) drone exploration of the coast of southern Portugal.  The video was filmed near the town of Lagos, one of the main cities of the Algarve region that covers the southernmost portion of mainland Portugal.  One of Portugal's top tourist destinations, this area is famous for its stunning cliffs, giant offshore rock formations, and semi-hidden cove beaches, all of which feature prominently in the video.  

Top AirVuz contributor Airviewstudio brings us this excellent drone video of a well-known monument on the northwestern coast of Spain.  It's called the Virgin of the Rock (Virxe da Rocha), and it's located atop a small mountain overlooking the town of  Baiona in Pontevedra, one of the four provinces which make up the Galicia region in the northwestern corner of the country.  The monument was completed in 1930, following a two decade contruction period.  The monument stands about 50 ft. (15 m) high.    

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Finalist Kpax brings us this excellent drone video from the mountains of northern Italy.  The video was filmed over and around Pizzo di Gino, a prominent peak within the Lugano Prealps chain.  The Lugano Prealps are a chain of "foothills" of the larger Alps system which are located in the Lombardy region of Italy and also covering a portion of the canton of Ticino in neighboring Switzerland.  Pizzo di Gino has a maximum elevation of just under 7.4k ft. above sea level (around 2.45k m).  

Top AirVuz contributor and drone pilot mitevisuals earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot in early February of 2025 for this fantastic 2024 drone travel reel.  The video features stunning shots from three continents: Europe, Africa, and Asia.  Specific locations include Cape Verde, an island country located off the coast of western Africa; Egypt; Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands, also off the coast of Africa; Spain; Switzerland; Denmark; Sweden; Laos; and the Philippines

Top contributor T-christ-T brings us this fantastic aerial video of some oil and gas drilling activities in the South China Sea off of the Chinese coast.  A major inlet of the Pacific Ocean, the South China Sea is formed by the mainland of southeastern China, Indochina, the Malay Peninsula, the giant islands of Sumatra and New Guinea, the Philippines, and Formosa.  In recent years, China has led the development of offshore drilling unlock the SCS's hydrocarbon resources, estimated at billions of recoverable barrels of oil equivalents.  

Top contributor denisbarbas brings us this stunning drone video of the city of Shanghai, China.  At the :16, you'll get a great view of the trapezoidal opening atop the Shanghai World Financial Center, which was the second-tallest building in the world when it opened in 2008 and remains Shanghai's second-tallest as of 2025.  Starting at :27, you'll get a close-up of the spherical Oriental Pearl Tower, one of Shanghai's most iconic sites.  At :48, you'll see Shanghai Tower, Shanghai's tallest and the third-tallest in the world as of 2025.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner davetke2002 brings us this excellent drone video from New Zealand's Wharariki Beach.  The beach lies near the northernmost point on the South Island, just west of the base of Cape Farewell on the Tasman Sea.  The video features stunning footage of the Archway Islands, a group of four islets (essentially, offshore rock formations) which are basically part of the beach itself during low tide and a few hundred ft../m offshore during periods of high tide.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist 21Aerials brings us this fantastic drone video from San Francisco, California.  At the :16 mark, there's a great view of the Financial District, with the Transamerica Pyramid (the city's tallest from 1972-1917) in the foreground and Salesforce Tower (the tallest as of 2025) in the background.  From there, it's on to the Golden Gate Bridge, and at :58 (and again at 1:29) there's a twilight view of the Financial District, with the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge off to the left.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Majd Saaida brings us this stunning drone video from the Dolomite Mountains in northeastern Italy.  The Dolomites are a sub-chain of the Southern Limestone Alps.  Featuring peaks of up to about 11k ft. above sea level (around 3.35k m), the Dolomites are known for their distinctive gray carbonate rock formations and sharp ridges.  They are spread over several provinces in Italy's Trentino-Alto-Adigio, Veneto, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia regions.

Top AirVuz contributor FADAH_FPV earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this fantastic drone video of humpback whales off the coast of Greenland, the world's largest island.  Humpbacks are one of about 15 different whale species which are frequently found in Greenland's coastal waters as part of their annual migration patterns.  They can grow as long as 56 ft. (17 m) in length and can weigh up to about 45 tons.  The video was filmed with a first person view (FPV) drone as well as a DJI Mavic 3.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist mikereidphotography brings us this fantastic drone video of Seattle's famous Space Needle.  Filmed on a foggy day at sunrise, the video features some great shots of the observation tower popping up through the clouds, with the Downtown core behind it (to the south) and snow-capped Mt. Rainier off in the distance.  The Space Needle was built for the 1962 World's Fair; when it opened, it was the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River.  It stands 605 ft. tall (184 m).  

Top AirVuz contributor Feeling Drone - Guillermo García was picked as a Finalist for the Drone Video of the Week contest in early 2025 with this fantastic drone video from the Spanish Pyrenees Mountains.  The Pyrenees, which serve as the boundary between Spain and France, run a roughly 300 mi. course (around 500 km) from the Cantabrian Mountains in the west to the Mediterranean Sea in the east.  Covering much of the northern Spanish regions of Catalonia and Aragon, they reach heights of about 11.2k ft. above sea level (around 3.4k m).  

Check out these fantastic drone views from Montenegro's Adriatic Sea coastline, compliments of top AirVuz contributor sinaysky.  The video opens with shots of the tiny island of Sveti Stefan, which is located a bit to the southeast of the town of Budva.  Starting at the :24 mark, you'll see the tiny islets of Katič and Sveta Nedelja, which lie a bit further to the south.  Other highlights include the town of Budva (:34), the resort of Porto Novi (:46); the town of Perast (:53), Our Lady of the Rocks church, on Kotor Bay (:56); and more.  

Check out these stunning drone views of Italy's South Tyrol province, compliments of Santiago.  Somewhat confusingly, South Tyrol is the southernmost of the two provinces which make up the Trentino-Alto-Adigio region in the northeastern part of the country.  The province is covered almost entirely by the Dolomite Mountains, which are part of the Southern Limestone Alps and which feature peaks of up to about 11k ft. above sea level or around 3.35k m.  The Dolomites extend into the neighboring Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia regions.  

See some of the highlights of southern Italy in this excellent drone video from AirVuz contributor koszoandras_photography.  The video opens with a beautiful shot of the harbor of Naples, with Mt. Vesuvius in the background.  At the :05 mark, you'll see the Piazza del Plebiscito, the main square of Naples, followed by a view of the Castel Sant'Elmo, the hilltop fortress overlooking the city.  Starting at 1:30, you'll head to Pompei, the ancient ruins site located southeast of Naples, on the other side of Vesuvius.   

Former DVOW Finalist 21Aerials brings us this excellent drone video from Los Angeles, California.  The video opens with a shot looking west towards downtown over the Sixth Street Viaduct, which spans the Los Angeles River near the Arts District.  At the :26 mark, you'll see Venice Beach, and startings at :34 there are a series of daytime/nighttime timelapse shot over the city's legendary freeways.  At 1:24, there's a shot of downtown from the northwest.  Other highlights include the canals of Venice (1:36), Echo Park (2:02), and more.  

AirVuz contributor DanielDrone123 used a DJI Mini 4 Pro drone to create this excellent video of Bern, the capital city of Switzerland.  At the 1:05 mark, there's a shot looking up the Aare River towards the Gothic Bern Minster, Switzerland's tallest cathedral, which dates to the early 15th century.  At :33, you'll get a nice view of the Federal Palace of Switzerland (the Bundeshaus); the green-domed building is the seat of the national parliament and was built in stages during the 19th century.   

Top AirVuz contributor Kpax earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this outstanding drone video of a historic railway in the Alps Mountains.  It's called the Bernina Express, and it runs between the Swiss town of Chur in the canton of Grissons with Tirano, Italy in the Valtellina Valley, part of the region of Lombardy.  Operated by Rhaetian Railway, the largest private Swiss rail carrier, the railway is a UNESCO World Heritage site.  The video was filmed with a DJI Air 3 drone.  

AirVuz contributor Airviewstudio brings us this fantastic drone video from the coast of Spain's Galicia region.  The video was filmed on a stretch of the Atlantic coast between the town of Baiona in the north to A Guarda, about 18 mi. (around 30 km) to the south.  Both towns are part of Pontevedra, the southwesternmost of the four provinces which make up the Galicia region in the northwestern corner of metropolitan Spain.  The video includes footage of Virgén de la Roca monument, the Monastery of Oia, and more.   

Check out these fantastic drone views of northern Vietnam, compliments of top AirVuz contributor Bewajai.  The video includes footage from the area around the town of Sa Pa in Lào Cai province, in northwestern Vietnam; Hà Giang, one of Vietnam's northernmost provinces, along the border with China; Hạ Long Bay, on the South China Sea in Quảng Ninh, Vietnam's northeasternmost province; Lan Ha Bay, just to the south of Ha Long Bay; and Ninh Bình province, which lies due south of Hanoi, the largest city of northern Vietnam.  

AirVuz contributor gianluigipalomba won the Drone Video of the Week contest in early January, 2025 with this fantastic drone video from Namibia.  The video was filmed with a DJI Mavic 3 drone and a Sony FX3 ground camera over the course of a two week trip through the southwest African country.  It features extensive footage of the Namib Desert, the vast coastal desert which covers virtually all of Namibia's western (Atlantic Ocean) coastline.  You'll also see some views of the country's interior and its extensive safari wildlife.  

Top contributor mikereidphotography brings us this stunning drone video of Sydney, Australia.  Filmed with a DJI Mavic Pro 3, the video opens with a long shot flying southwards towards the Central Business District, with the Harbor Bridge on the left.  This shot ends at about the 1:20 mark with a great view of Crown Sydney, the city's tallest skyscraper as of 2025.   In the next shot, filmed at dusk and starting at about 1:24, you'll be flying north and facing east, with a reveal of the Opera House at about 2:15. 

In this incredible reel, top contributor VerJan FPV brings us his action-packed 2024 FPV showreel, which was picked as a DVOW Finalist in early 2025.   At the :04 mark, there's a great shot of a wingsuiter flying somewhere over the Southwestern USA, followed by an unbelievable shot of an (empty) car taking a giant plunge off of a cliff and into a pond.  Further on, you'll be treated to movie quality shots of cliff jumpers, dune buggy riders, parasailers, and even shots of a full-scale helicopter (at :37) and airplane (1:07).  

Top AirVuz contributor druno earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this fantastic FPV video of one of the great cultural treasures of Italy: the Florence Cathedral.  Formally known as the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower, it's part of the Piazza del Duomo in the heart of the city which is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance.  One of the world's largest churches, it was constructed over a 150 year period beginning around 1300.  The video includes footage of the adjoining Baptistery and Giotto's Campanile.   

Top AirVuz contributor T-christ-T brings us this outstanding drone video from China's Huangshan Mountains.  The Huangshan, which lie in the interior province of Anhui, feature peaks which range up to about 3.3k ft. above sea level (around 1k m).  Known in part for their unusually shaped granite peaks, the Huangshan have become one of interior China's major tourist destinations, and much of the range has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.  They are also well-represented in Chinese arts and literature.  

Explore Osaka, Japan from above in this excellent drone video by top AirVuz contributor 21Aerials.  The video opens with a shot looking towards the Abeno Harukas tower complex, which stands 984 ft. tall (300 m) and is the tallest skyscraper in Japan's third-largest city.  Starting at the :39 mark, there's a great nighttime timelapse shot flying over the center of the city, which lies in the Kansai Region of southern Honshu and is the center of the Keihanshin region which also includes the nearby cities of Kyoto and Kobe.  

Prepare to be amazed by this fantastic drone video from the mountains of northwestern Spain by top AirVuz contributor ArturCarvalho  The video was filmed over the Picos da Europa, which are part of the Cantabrian Mountains chain that runs roughly parallel to the country's coastline along the Bay of Biscay, forming the natural boundary between the regions of Cantabria and Asturias (to the north) and Castile and León (to the south).  The mountains have peaks ranging up to about 8.7k ft. above sea level (around 2.65k m).  

AirVuz contributor Airviewstudio brings us this fantastic drone video from the Ria de Vigo in northwestern Spain.  The Ria de Vigo is the southernmost of four rias (inlets formed by "drowned" rivers) on the western (Atlantic Ocean) coastline of Galicia, the northwesternmost of the major regions of metropolitan Spain.  The video includes footage of the city of Vigo (which lies on the ria's southern side); the Rande Bridge, which spans the ria just to the east of Vigo; the Island of San Simón, just to the east of the bridge; and more.  

Top AirVuz contributor J.L.C.Drones brings us this fantastic 2024 drone highlight reel from the Spanish region of Galicia.  Filmed with a DJI Air 3 drone, the video will take you over this fascinating region, which covers the northwestern corner of the country.  It opens with shots of a medieval castle, and at 1:40 you'll see one of the region's famous rias (glaciated river valleys).  Other highlights include an old coastal fortress (starting at 2:29), a waterfall (2:47), a wind farm (3:20), and more.  

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot sinaysky was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list for this fantastic 2024 FPV reel from Montenegro.  The video opens with a highly cinematic "gap" shot somewhere on the Budva Riviera, the stretch of Adriatic Sea coastline which is increasingly compared to Croatia's Dalmatian Coast to the south.  At the :12 mark, you'll dive the mast of a historic sailing ship, and at around :33 you'll head into the country's mountainous interior.  

Top AirVuz contributor Liam Hights spent two nights in Italy's famed Dolomite mountains and emerged with this fantastic video, which was picked as a DVOW Finalist in January of 2025.  Filmed with a DJI Mini 3 Pro as well as a DJI Mini 4 Pro, the video will take you over and around the Rosengarten group, massif which is distinguished in part by its pink coloring.  The group lies along the boundary between South Tyrol and Trentino, the two provinces which make up the Trentino-Alto-Adigio region in the northeastern part of the country.  

Top AirVuz contributor T-christ-T brings us this stunning drone video from the Chinese province of Guizhou, which lies in the southwestern part of the country.  The video opens with shots of the Jilong Castle Country Club on Wanfeng Lake, a four star resort.  Most of the rest of the footage was filmed in and around the ancient town of Zhenyuan, which lies to the northeast of the Jilong Castle in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, an administrative division covering a portion of southeastern Guizhou.  

Top AirVuz contributor ArturCarvalho won the Drone Video of the Week contest in early 2025 with this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone tour from Angola in southwestern Africa.  The video was filmed over and around the city of Luanda, which is located on the northern part of the country's long western (Atlantic Ocean) coastline and is one of the largest cities on the continent.  Filmed with a DJI Avata 2 drone, the video features shots from the city and its beaches as well as of the birds which ply its important nearby wetlands.

Top AirVuz contributor Kpax was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist for this excellent video from the mountains of northern Italy.  The video was filmed over and around Sasso Gordona, a peak of the Lugano Prealps (a subchain of the broader Alps mountain system) in the region of Lombardy, not far from the Swiss border.  Situated just west of Lake Como, Sasso Gordona has a peak elevation of about 4.6k ft. above sea level (approximately 1.4k m).  It's considered a sub-peak of the nearby Monte Generoso.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist for this fantastic cinematic drone reel from Hungary.  At the :06 mark, you'll fly into Nagyerdei Stadion, a football stadium in Debrecen, Hungary's second-largest city, followed by an amazing view of some horses running along the great Hungarian Plain.  At :25, you'll see some fireworks at Buda Castle in Budapest, followed by the nearby Blue Fountain.  Other highlights include Lake Balaton, cathedrals, amusement parks, and more.  

Take an aerial tour of Tokyo Japan with this excellent video by 21Aerials, which was a DVOW Finalist in early 2025.  The video opens with a shot of the red and white Tokyo Tower observation structure, with the Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower (the city's tallest building as of 2025) on the left.  At the :12 mark, there's a nice shot of the city with a snow-capped Mt. Fuji in the background, followed by an excellent day-to-night timelapse flyover.  Another highlight is at :22, where you'll see the Shibuya Pedestrian Crossing.  

In this fantastic piece, AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot CragLord gives us an FPV tour of the Chugach Mountains in Alaska.  The video was filmed over Chugach State Park, which covers about 775 square mi. (around 2k square km) in the south-central part of the state, just east of Anchorage.  It's home to the Chugach Mountains, whose peaks rise up to about 13.1k ft. above sea level (around 4k m), and have some of the world's highest annual snowfall totals.  The Chugach form part of the Pacific Coast Ranges.  

Explore Scotland's Isle of Skye as it's covered by early winter snow, compliments of AirVuz contributor Rob Bates Photography.  The video opens with shots of the Quiraing, a "landslip" rock formation on Trotternish, the island's northernmost peninsula.  At the :39 mark, you'll see the Quiraing's "Needle" rock pillar.  At 1:29, you'll see Mealtfalls, a waterfall (also on the Trotternish), which drops directly into the sea over a cliff.  Just after 2:00, there's a beautiful shot looking between two of the island's mountains.  

Prepare to be amazed by this fantastic 2024 FPV drone reel by top contributor Jeremy Taktouk.  The reel features an impressive mix of landscape, action, and indoor footage from around the world.  At the :12 mark, you'll fly into a football arena, and at :16 you'll follow a parasailor racing down a snow-covered mountain.  At the :26 mark, you'll see the smoking craters of the Mt. Bromo volcanic complex on the Indonesian island of Java.  Other highlights include the famous "needle" rock formation at Étretat on the coast of Normandy, France.  

This 2024 first person view (FPV) drone reel by top AirVuz contributor and pilot MazzaFPV opens with an epic shot flying through a gap in the rocks at Cabo Espichel, in the southwestern corner of Portugal, followed by a shot diving an waterfall in Iceland.  This pattern continues, with shots alternating between the two types - flying through tight gaps in rock formations on the Portuguese coasts, and diving shots of various waterfalls in Iceland, including Detifoss, Engifoss, Migandifoss, and more.  

Top AirVuz contributor alexchristophe brings us this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone reel.  The reel opens with shots of the Sydney Opera House, perhaps the most iconic spot in the Land Downunder.  From there, you'll head to Diamond Beach on Nusa Penida, a satellite of the Indonesian island of Bali.  At the :46 mark, you'll see the Matthias Church in Trinity Square in Budapest, Hungary.  At 2:11, you'll see the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue in its namesake cultural park in Bali, and at 2:30 you'll see Budapest's Parliament Building.  

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot maga.fpv brings us this excellent 2024 FPV drone reel from Kazakhstan.  The video opens with an establishing shot of followed by a dive down the Almaty Tower, a television tower built on a mountain overlooking the city's largest city.  At :15, you'll follow some parasailers and hot air balloonists, and at :25 you'll chase some drift cars.  At :40, there's an epic shot of a BMX rider hitting a jump, and at :45 you'll chase a jetski rider skimming the waves.  

AirVuz contributor Michael Antcliff brings us this excellent drone video of the Kangaroo Point Bridge in Brisbane, Australia.  Completed in 2024, it's a pedestrian-only span over the Brisbane River connects the city's Central Business District with Kangaroo Point, a "peninsula" formed by a series of bends in the river just downstream.  The cable-stayed bridge has a length of about 1.5k ft. (470 m).  Part of the city's  Brisbane City Master Plan 2014, it was designed prior to the awarding of the 2032 Summer Olympics to the city in 2021.  .  

Former DVOW Finalist SirM Productions brings us this fantastic FPV drone reel from Italy.  At about the :15 mark, you'll skim over a narrow beach backed by towering cliffs in the Aeolian Islands, an archipelago just north of the island of Sicily.  Starting at :33, you'll fly over an alpine stream for a "reveal" of the Dolomite Mountains in northeastern Italy, followed by an epic shot of some skiers hitting a jump.  Other highlights include a magnificent shot flying through a rock gap (:48), another very clever "gap" shot (1:13), and more. 

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor MDL.prod brings us this fantastic Fall colors drone video from the English Lake District.  Most of the disttict is part of the national park of the same name, the UK's second-oldest, which receives nearly 20 million visitors per year. It's located in Cumbria, one of the counties of the North West England region.  Immortalized in English literature and poetry, the Lake District is home to England's highest peak, over a dozen lakes, charming villages, and other attractions.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist MichasWelt brings us this excellent 2024 first person view (FPV) drone reel.  The video opens with a shot skimming over a harbor on the Mediterranean island of Malta, followed by a flyover of some hot-air balloons.  At the :16 mark, you'll skim over the blue-green waters of Indonesia, and at :40 you'll fly over some of that country's famed rice terraces.  At :50, you'll dive down a mountain in Iceland's Highlands, and at 1:25 there's an amazing shot flying into a grotto on Malta.  

Drone Video of the Year Finalist LokmansIn brings us this stunning drone video of the Bucovina region of Romania.  The video opens with wintertime shots from the region's mountains, which are part of the Eastern Carpathians.  Later, you'll see the city of Suceava, the principal city of southern (ie, Romanian) Bucovina (the northern part of the historical region of Bucovina is now in Ukraine).  Suceava was the one-time capital of the Principality of Moldavia, an important center of power during the Middle Ages.   

Check out this amazing 2024 first person view (FPV) drone reel from Sri Lanka by top AirVuz contributor pradeep_lakmal.  At the :09 mark, you'll see the Nine Arch Bridge, a Colonial era viaduct in the interior of the island.  Starting at :30, you'll fly upstream through a series of waterfalls, followed by a skim over a beach.  At 1:05, you'll descent through the clouds into a rainforest, followed by a flyover of some rice terraces.  Other highlights include a flight through a flock of birds (2:00), the port town of Galle (2:15), and more.  

Check out these stunning aerial views of Sydney, Australia's legendary beaches, compliments of AirVuz contributor SB Drone Sessions.  The video was filmed on the stretch of coastline which runs southwards from the entrance to Sydney Harbor.  At the :36 mark, you'll see a natural swimming pool just to the south of Bronte Beach (a bit to to south of Bondi Beach), followed by the rainbow arch pavillion of Coogey Beach, a bit further to the south.  Further on, you'll see some of the area's legendary surfing scene.  

Take a first person view (FPV) drone tour of England's Bristol Cathedral, compliments of top contributor seb-depp.  Considered one of the architectural and historical gems of the United Kingdom, the cathedral sits in the heart of Bristol, the largest city in the South West England region.  Dating to the 12th century, it originally served as a monastery dedicated to St. Augustine.  Over the years, the cathedral underwent numerous modifications, most recently with the addition of the two towers on its western side in the late 19th century.  

Top AirVuz contributor Enrico Pescantini brings us this fascinating drone video of an abandoned coal mining settlement in Norway's Svalbard Archipelago, roughly halfway between the Norwegian mainland and the North Pole.  It's called Pyramiden, and it's located on the main island of Spitsbergen.  The settlement was originally controlled by Sweden before being sold to the USSR in the 1920's.  The adjoining coal mine was closed in 1998, at which time the town was completely abandoned.  The town now has a handful of permanent residents.

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist eCKsplorer used a DJI Air 2 to create this excellent aerial view of a sea fortress which once guarded the approaches to Helsinki, Finland.  It's called Suomenlinna, and it's built on a series of islands which lie just to the south of central Helsinki in the Gulf of Finland, an inlet of the Baltic Sea.  The fortress was originally constructed in the 18th century when Finland was controlled by Sweden; it subequently fell under Russian control prior to Finland's declaration of independence in 1917.  

Former DVOW Finalist eCKsplorer brings us this excellent drone tour of the historic city of Gjirokastër, Albania.  Situated in a valley near Albania's southern border with Greece, Gjirokastër dates to the early 14th century, when the area was under control of the Byzantine Empire; in the early 15th century, it came under Ottoman (Muslim) control for 500 years before Albania became independent in 1913.  Starting at about the 2:30 mark, you'll see the (namesake) medieval fortress which overlooks the town.

Former DVOW Finalist eCKsplorer brings us this magnificent drone video of the Italian port town of Positano, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast near Naples.  At the :23 mark, you'll see the church of Santa Maria Assunta, which houses an icon of the Black Madonna.  At :30, you'll see the Marina Grande Beach, probably the town's most well-recognized feature.  Starting at 1:03, there's a marvelous pull-out shot, in which you'll see the hills behind the town and a "reveal" of the town itself.  The video was filmed with a DJI Air 2 drone.  

AirVuz contributor Jaybee2786 used a DJI Mavic 3 to film Scotland's Tantallon Castle, the great fortification which once guarded the city of Edinburgh.  It's located near the southern entrance to the Firth of Forth in East Lothian, more or less due east of the Scottish capital city.  The fortification was originally built on the orders of Scottish nobleman William Douglas, 1st Earl of Douglas.  It saw action during numerous dynastic conflicts within Scotland and later in the English Civil War of the mid-17th century.  

Top AirVuz contributor Lucaputzer earned a spot as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in December of 2024 with this fantastic video from Pakistan.  Filmed with a gimbal-stabilized drone as well as a first person view (FPV) quad, the video will take you over many spots in this fascinating country.  At the :08 mark, you'll fly over an outdoor Muslim prayer session.  From there, you'll head north into the mountainous part of the country, which is home to some of the world's most spectacular alpine scenery.  

AirVuz contributor Jaybee2786 brings us this excellent drone video of Blackness Castle, a medieval fortress near Edenburgh, Scotland.  The fortification was built in the 1440's by Scottish nobleman George Crichton.  It sits near the entrance to the Firth of Forth, the great river estuary which connects Edinburgh to the North Sea.  Black Castle was further strengthened in the 16th century, becoming one of the strongest positions of its type in Scotland, although it still fell to Oliver Cromwell's forces during the English Civil War.  

Multiple Drone Video of the Week/Month Winner haussmannvisuals brings us this outstanding 2024 first person view (FPV) drone reel.  At the :07 mark, you'll skim along the rock formations off the coast of Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands.  At the :13 mark, you'll see a great FPV of the Commerzbank Tower, the tallest skyscraper in Frankfurt, Germany.  At :21, you'll see the Tengger Caldera on Mt. Bromo in East Java, Indonesia.  Other featured locations include the Icelandic Highlands, the Indonesian island of Padar, and more.  

Here's a nice aerial view of the fortified city of Mdina on the Mediterranean island of Malta by Pilot - Muscat.   Located in the interior of the northern part of the main island, the "modern" Mdina was built by the Muslim pilgrims from Sicily in the 11th century AD.  It served as the "capital" of Malta until the 16th century, when the knights of the Order of St. John (the Hospitallers) moved the capital to Birgu, on the Grand Harbor.  It "played the role" of King's Landing in the first season of HBO's Game of Thrones series.  

AirVuz contributor Gunberg Lange brings us this magnificent drone video from the massive island of Greenland.  The video was filmed over the Ilulissat Icefjord, which lies in the central part of Greenland's long western coastline.  The fjord, which empties into Disko Bay (an inlet of Baffin Bay) is the terminus of the Jacobshavn Glacier, one of the world's most prodigious producers of icebergs.  It's an outlet of the Greenland Ice Sheet, the largest ice sheet in the world outside of Antarctica.  

Check out these stunning drone views of Greenland, compliments of AirVuz contributor Gunberg Lange.  The video was filmed near the town of Nanortalik, which lies near the southern tip of the world's largest island (a territory of Denmark).  While the population of Nanortalik barely exceeds 1k, it's nonetheless one of the dozen largest settlements on the giant island, which covers a territory of 836k square mi. (just under 2.2 million square km), larger than the combined areas of the US states of Alaska and Texas.  

Former DVOW Finalist MichasWelt brings us this fantastic drone video from the Mediterranean island of Malta.  Created with footage from an FPV drone with "setup" shots from a gimbal-stabilized drone, at the :10 mark you'll see the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel church in the capital city of Valletta.  At :16, you'll see Fort St. Elmo, at the entrance of the Grand Harbor.  Other featured locations include the Ta' Pinu Basilica on the northern island of Gozo (:54); the Parish Church in the northern city of Mellieħa (2:00), and more.

Drone Video of the Week Finalist rezarafizadeh brings us this excellent drone video of a very old and well-known fortress is Iran called Rudkhan Castle.  Located near the city of Fuman in the northern province of Gilan, the fortress was originally constructed in the 7th century to defend against the Muslim conquest of Persia.  It was rebuilt during the 11th century during the Nizari Ismaili state (also known as the the Alamut state), which established a network of strongholds throughout the Middle East.

Top AirVuz contributor Marco Miele brings us this fantastic drone video of the La Maddalena Archipelago, a group of seven main islands (plus some smaller islets) which sit off the northern end of the giant Italian island of Sicily.  The smaller islands lies in the Strait of Bonifacio (part of the Mediterranean Sea), which separates Sardinia from the (French) island of Corsica to its north.  Considered part of Sardinia's Costa Smeralda at the northern tip of the island, the archipelago is also a major wildlife area.

Of all the possible "moving targets" that can be chased by first person view (FPV) racing drones, birds are amongst the hardest.  That's what makes this piece by AirVuz contributor and pilot Fueled by Time worth a watch.  He was able to use his FPV-equipped racing quad to keep up with a flock of vultures flying over Southern France.  Flying at a respectful distance and staying away from their nest, he was able to track them for a surprisingly long flight over the Gorges du Tarn in the Department of Lozère.
