Visiting the Gods
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Former Drone Video of the Week Winner kostas Gur brings us this fantastic aerial video from Greece's Mt. Olympos. The home of the gods of Greek mythology, the mountain's peak is located about 50 mi. (around 80 km) southwest of the city of Thessaloniki, on the border between the regions of Thessaly and Macedonia. It rises to an elevation of about 9.6k ft. above sea level (around 2.9k m), making it the tallest mountain in Greece and one of the most prominent peaks in all of Europe. It has been designated as a World Biosphere Reserve.

In ancient times, the Greeks looked to the mountains and saw more than stone and snow. They saw the realm of the gods. And among all mountains, one reigned supreme—Olympus, the throne of Zeus, where thunder was forged and destiny was decided. But Olympus is not alone. Beyond it, across the untamed wilderness, rises another kingdom of peaks—the Pindos Mountain Range. A land of mist and legend, where nature reigns supreme.
Two months of preparation. Three thousand kilometers of roads—some barely worthy of the name. Snow, rain, wind, and time itself tested our resolve. But the mountains do not yield easily… And yet, in the face of such vastness, we pressed forward. Not just to capture the land, but to honor its spirit. This is our tribute to the ancestorial gods. This… is ‘Visiting the Gods.
