Award-winning contributor Postandfly created this stunning drone video descending through the clouds above Acapulco, Mexico.  It's located on a long, shallow Pacific Ocean bay in the state of Guerrero.  One of Mexico's oldest cities, it was founded by Spanish conquistadors in the 16th century.  "Discovered" as a chic beach destination by a number of Hollywood stars beginning in the 1940s, Acapulco became Mexico's first true resort destination. Surrounded by Hills, Acapulco is also a major cruise ship port of call.

Top contributor Postandfly does it again with this epic drone video of Puerto Vallarta, one of Mexico's top tourist destinations.  The city is located about midway down the country's long western (Pacific Ocean) coastline, in the state of Jalisco.  The video contains some amazing aerials of Puerto Vallarta's famous new pier, which was recently rated by CNN as amongst the most beautiful in the world.  Built in 2013, the pier extends into the Bahía de Banderas from the core downtown.

Top AirVuz contributor Inigui brings us this stunning drone video from a beautiful spot on Mexico's Pacific coastline. The DVOW nominated video was filmed around the town of Conchas Chinas, which is located just south of the great beach city of Puerto Vallarta.  Sometimes called the Beverly Hills of Puerta Vallarta, Conchas Chinas takes its name from distinctive looking type of shell which is found on its beaches.  Located in the state of Jalisco, it's part-time residents include many movie stars and other international luminaries.

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner Postandfly brings us this fantastic drone video from Mexico's Baja Peninsula.  The video opens with shots of Playa Balandra, just north of La Paz, on the eastern (Sea of Cortez) side of Baja.  Starting at the 1:04 mark, you'll see the Isla Espíritu Santo and the Isla Partida, two small islands a few mi./km further north.  Other featured locations include Todo Santos, near the southern tip of Baja on its western side (1:33); San Carlos, on Magdalena Bay, also on the western side (1:56); and more.

Contributor and pilot Legacy Video used a drone to create this amazing aerial tour of Mazatlan, one of the beach cities along Mexico's Pacific coastline.  Mazatlan is located in the state of Sinaloa.  It is situated roughly a third of the way down the Pacific coast, approximately level with the southern tip of Baja California Peninsula.  Legacy used a DJI Phantom 3 drone to create this video of the city, which was founded by the Spanish in 1531 and is one of the oldest cities on Mexico's west coast.

La Paz is the capital of the state of Baja California Sur, the lower half of Mexico's Baja Peninsula.  Situated on Concepcion Bay which leads into the Gulf of California (also known as the Sea of Cortez), La Paz has seen large increases in tourist traffic in recent years.  Earlier, La Paz was the setting for John Steinbeck's 1947 classic novel The Pearl, one of his only works not set in California. Award-winning contributor used the new DJI Mavic Mini to create this fantastic aerial tour of Los Cabos, Mexico.  Los Cabos is a municipality that covers the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, which separates the Pacific Ocean from the Sea of Cortez.  Los Cabos includes the two resort towns of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, which are separated by just over 30 km (around 20 mi.) of developed beachfront, plus many km/miles of thus-far undeveloped beachfront on either side of the corridor.

Contributor Pasquale Josepe created this beautiful aerial tour of Los Cabos, a municipality which is located at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula.  Los Cabos is a municipality which was essentially created for tourism.  It includes the resort towns of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.  While the latter town is centuries old, the area only came into its own in the late 20th century, when the Mexican Government decided to create a tourist zone similar to the area around Cancun on the Yucatan Peninsula.

In this video, Postandfly gives us a bird's eye view of Tijuana, the largest city on Mexico's western coasts.  It's the largest city in the state of Baja California, which extends from the US border to Cabo St. Lucas at the tip of the BC peninsula.  Tijuana is one of the major manufacturing centers of Mexico, and is home to many maquiladora factories.  Most of the video's footage is shot around the city's Pacific Ocean beach coastline.  He also gets some good shots of the giant Plaza Monumental arena.

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist enriquebarquet brings us this fantastic dronelapse video from the Pacific Ocean beaches of Western Mexico.  The video was filmed in the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo area, a beach district in the state of Guerero, about 260 km (around 150 mi.) up the coast from Acapulco.  Similar to Cabo San Lucas and Cancun albeit on a smaller scale, the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo area initially developed its beach tourism industry under a planned program of investment by the Mexican central government in the 1970's.

Check out this epic dronie shot from a famous island beach near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, compliments of award-winning contributor and drone pilot Postandfly.    It's part of the Marietas Islands, which lie a few km/mi west of Puerto Vallarta in the state of Nayarit.  The islands were used by the Mexican military for bombings and other test explosions in the early 1900's, forming the giant crater-like formation you will see in the video.  The island was closed to the public due to environmental concerns.

Check out this drone video of the old city of Acapulco, Mexico by top contributor Postandfly.  Situated on a crescent-shaped bay in the state of Guerrero, Acapulco is one of the oldest cities on Mexico's Pacific coast.  The site was settled in pre-Columbian times, and by the 1530's it was the main Pacific port in the now-colonized Mexico.  The town grew explosively in the 1950's, when it became a playground for the Hollywood set.  In recent years, its tourism has declined due to drug-related violence in the area.

Contributor and pilot Ridinhigh used a drone to capture one of the most important landmarks in Puerta Vallarta Mexico.  The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe (La Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe) is one of the oldest and largest churches in this beachside city in the state of Jalisco.  It is situated in the city's "old town", and is one of the most prominent landmarks.  The church is distinguished by its wrought iron crown, which was patterned off of a crown worn by the then-Empress of Mexico.

Here's a nice aerial look at the Mexican beach city of Puerta Vallarta, compliments of Matt Rafferty.  Located near the midpoint in Mexico's Pacific coastline, PV was a sleepy, virtually unknown fishing village until the 1950s, when it became something of a disaffected colony for US writers.  Beginning in the 1960's a number of factors (including the filming of the movie Night of the Iguana nearby) conspired to create a tourism boom which has turned it into one of the country's top beach destinations.

Puerta Vallarta is one of Mexico's most fabled beach towns.  While much of the recent growth in the area has been in the Nayarit area to the north, the town center continues to be a significant traffic draw.  Amongst the city's most well known landmarks is the Los Muertos Pier, which sits on a beach of the same name.  Designed by a famous Mexican architect, the pier was completed in 2011 alongside a renovation of the boardwalk.  You can see the famous pier from above in this drone video by AirVuz contributor Kasskel.
