The city is located about midway down the country's long western (Pacific Ocean) coastline, in the state of Jalisco. The video contains some amazing aerials of Puerto Vallarta's famous new pier, which was recently rated by CNN as amongst the most beautiful in the world. Built in 2013, the pier extends into the Bahía de Banderas from the core downtown.
