Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and an autonomous region of Italy. It's perhaps best known for being the home of Mt. Etna, one of the most recognized active volcanoes in the world. The island has been inhabited for many millennia and features numerous ancient ruins. Sicily has played a role in the affairs of the Mediterranean during most of this time, at times settled by the Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Romans, and others as their fortunes waxed and waned. Here are the best drone videos from this ancient Mediterranean land, home to over 5 million people. Aerial photo: “Savoca, Sicily” by AirVuz contributor and drone pilot jone_83.
