Abruzzo is one of the 19 official regions of modern Italy, and includes the provinces of Chieti, L'Aquila, Pescara, and Teramo. A largely rural region, it's situated in the east-central part of the country, with a long coastline on the Adriatic Sea. Its interior is mostly covered by the Apennine Mountains, and it's the home of the highest peaks in Italy outside of the Alps. In addition to its stunning natural beauty, Abruzzo's mountains are home to some of the most famous fortresses in Europe. Here is a collection of the best drone videos from Abruzzo, sometimes called the greenest region of Europe because of the amount of its territory preserved in parks and reserves.
