Into the Grimselwelt

In August 2019, I went on a solo camping trip to explore the mountains beyond Meiringen and Innertkirchen, an area in central Switzerland also known as the Grimselwelt (as it contains the Grimsel Pass that connects the cantons of Bern and Wallis, alongside other famous high roads like the Furka Pass and the Susten Pass). This video will take you with me to the top of the Sidelhorn at the break of dawn and show other hidden gems like the Unteraar glacier, Lake Grimsel, the Urbach valley, the Trift glacier and nearby suspension bridge, the village of Innertkirchen, the turquoise water of Lake Gelmer, the Susten Pass and the Rosenlaui or Reichenbach valley. Because the Grimselwelt draws much less crowds than places like Zermatt and Grindelwald, I got to enjoy these stunning views pretty much by myself, making me feel like Alexander Supertramp in Into the Wild! I hope I can convey that feeling and motivate people to explore and respect the natural world!
