Have you ever heard of the Faroes? It's a North Atlantic archipelago made up of a group of 18 primary islands, plus several hundred subsidiary islands. It's a territory of Denmark and considered part of Scandinavia despite being many hundreds of km/mi from the European mainland. Geologically, the Faroe Islands are infants, and that explains part of their appeal - if you like volcanoes and lava fields, you will find plenty of them in the Faroes, along with charming fishing villages spectacular coastal cliffs and rock formations, and some of the world's most amazing wind turbine farms. That's why it's being called the New Iceland. And if you're thinking about planning a trip, the best way to see the islands is through this collection of amazing drone videos.
