Aerial Views of West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

DigitalTravelCouple put together this excellent captioned aerial tour of some of the best beaches on the Indonesian island of Lombok.  Featured locations include Tanjung Aan Beach, which lies on a bay on the south side of the island; Bukit Marese, just to its south; Batu Berang Beach in Tampah, a bit to the east; Pantai Mawi, which lies a bit west of Bukit Marese; Mandalika and Pantai Seger, in the middle of the southern coastline; Selong Belanak, near Pantai Mawi; Bukit Malaka, on the island's northwestern side, and more.  

Lombok is a medium-sized island lying to the east of Bali in Indonesia.  The tiny Gili Islands, which lie just across the Lombok Strait, have become a magnet for travelers seeking a more secluded vacation spot.  Both Lombok and the Gili's are part of the province of West Nusa Tenggara. Contributor Dronecult brought a drone on a trip to Lombok and these islets.  His drone flights allowed him to create this amazing aerial view of a true tropical paradise with shimmering blue waters and white sand beaches.  

Contributor and pilot Aronzblack created this beautiful drone video memory of a trip across Sumbawa Barat, a region of southern Indonesia.  The region covers the western tip of the island of Sumbawa, which is one of the islands which makes up the West Nusa Tenggara province of this Southeast Asian country.  While Sumbawa and Lombok (which lies to its west and is also part of the West Nusa Tenggara province), culturally they are quite distinct, with the latter being much more influenced by Indian culture.  

Check out this amazing drone video from Indonesia's Gili Islands, compliments of contributor and pilot viktor.tserovski.  The three tiny islands sit off the northwestern coast of the island of Lombok, one of the main islands of the West Nusa Tenggara province in southern Indonesia.  The islands are particularly popular with divers, who seek their pristine coral reefs.  The Gili's are increasingly seen as an alternative to Bali, the next major island to their west.  The video was shot with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist daniel.nunes used a DJI Spark drone to create this magnificent travel video from the Indonesian island of Lombok.  Lombok is the most populous island of West Nusa Tenggara, the province which lies immediately to the east of the province of Bali.  The video features excellent footage of the Lombok coast as well as its green, hilly interior.  Highly cinematic, you will be treated to some epic views ranging from some of Lombok's famous beaches, waterfalls, rice terraces, and more. 

Top contributor and drone pilot 70daysaroundtheworld created this beautiful aerial video from the Indonesian island of Lombok.  It's part of the West Nusa Tenggara region, east of Bali in the southern part of this massive Southeast Asian island country.  Lombok is one of the two main islands of West Nusa, the other being the island of Sambawa to the east.  While Sumbawa is larger in terms of area, Lombok is home to over two-thirds of the region's population.  The video was mostly shot on the island's coasts.

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot ZainFPV made the most of two days on the tropical island of Lombok in this beautiful video, which was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in June of 2022.  Lombok is one of the two main islands of the West Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia.  Part of the broader chain known as the Lesser Sumba Islands, it lies a short distance to the east of Balil.  The video features footage from Sembalun, Selong, Belanak Beach, Tanjung Aan Beach, and Marese Hill. 

Contributor and drone pilot Clouds Trip used a drone to create this amazing aerial video of Mt. Rinjani on Indonesia's Lombok island.  Rising to an altitude of 3.7k meters above sea level (about 12.2k ft.) this active volcano is the second highest mountain in the country, after Mt. Kerinci on the island of Sumatra.  Mt. Rinjani is situated in the north central part of Lombok, one of the Lesser Sunda islands in the West Nusa Tenggara region of the country.  The mountain and hot springs around it are considered sacred by the Hindu population.

Content creator and pilot Joe Criso created this beautiful Sam Kolder Inspired drone video of Lombok, an island in the chain of Indonesian islands known as the Lesser Sunda Islands, which began at Bali and extend for many hundreds of km/miles eastwards.  Lombok sits across the Lombok Strait from Bali, in the province called West Nusa Tenggara.  While Lombok bears some physical similarity to Bali and also shares some cultural characteristics, it is far less well known to most international travelers.  

Sandrine Hecq is a vlogger who uses drones to show her travel destinations from an aerial perspective.  To make this video, she traveled to Gili Air, one of the three islands off the northwestern coast of Indonesia's Lombok island.  Using a combination of a DJI Phantom 4 and ground cameras, the video shows the tropical beauty of this island, the easternmost of the three "Gili's" which lies just a short distance from mainland Lombok and are part of the West Nusa Tengarra region of southern Indonesia.

Selong Balanak is one of the most popular beaches on the Indonesian island of Lombok.  It is situated on the southern coast of the island, a short distance from Praya.  It is still a relatively pristine and uninhabited part of the island, which has a population of over 3 million and is perhaps best known to tourists for the Gili Islands which are situated just off its northwestern coast.  Contributor ery.satriadi@gmail.com created this beautiful drone video of Selong Belanak just after sunset.  

AirVuz contributor Neil Cave used a drone to create this outstanding video memory of a sailing trip in the southern Indonesian islands.  The starting point was Senggigi Beach, one of the most popular beach areas on the island of Lombok in the West Nusa Tenggara province.  They sailed up the island's western coast along the Lombok Strait, which separates Lombok from Bali to its west.  Their destination was the Gili's, a chain of three tiny islands (Gili's Trawangan, Meno, and Air), which lie just off of Lombok's northwestern coast.  

Brand-new contributor MaikKleinert used a DJI Mavic Air 2 to bring us this fantastic drone video from a tiny Indonesian island called Gili Air.  Gili Air is one of the three "Gili Islands" off the northwestern coast of Lombok, in the province of West Nusa Tenggara.  Despite being the closest to the "mainland", Gili Air is less developed than its neighbors, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan.  In recent years, the Gili's have become popular destinations for travelers seeking more adventurous alternatives to Bali, which lies to their west.

Check out this beautiful drone video of a beach in southern Indonesia, compliments of top contributor and pilot Indo Eye.  Mawi Beach is located on the southern shore of Lombok, the principal island of the country's West Nusa Tengarra Province.  It's due south of Mataram, the largest city on the island.  Located east of Bali, Lombok is one of the up and coming beach destinations in this gigantic country.  In the video, you'll see not only the beach but some of the beautiful area just to its interior.  

Gili Trawangan is the largest of Indonesia's three "Gili's" - a chain of three islands which lie off the northwestern coast of the island of Lombok in the West Nusa Tenggara Province just east of Bali.  The island measures about 3 km long (around 2 km) by 2 km wide (a bit over a mile), and has a full-time population of around 1.5k.  Seen here in this outstanding drone video ruriospaulo, Gili Trawangan and its sister islands Gili Air and Gili Meno have become one of Indonesia's up-and-coming beach destinations.  

Content creator and pilot MIAPVIDEOS created this stunning drone video of a volcano on Indonesia's Lombok island.  Mount Rinjani is situated in the north central part of the island, which is part of the West Nusa Tenggara province.  With an altitude of 3.7k meters (12.2k ft.), it's one of the highest mountains in the country.  One of the distinguishing features of the area is the crater lake Segara Anak, which was formed by the eruption in the 13th century of the neighboring volcano called Samalas.

Check out this stunning video of mountain bikers working the slopes of a tiny island in southern Indonesia, courtesy of content creator and pilot aronzblackz.  Kenawa Island lies between the islands of Sumbawa and Lombok, the two main islands in the West Nusa Tenggara province in the southern part of the country.  The video was shot with a combination of drone and ground camera footage.  Like so many of the 17,000+ islands which make up the Indonesian nation, Kenawa is barely visible on a map yet stunningly beautiful.  

Contributor Agus Kasuma created this stunning drone video of the eastern side of Lombok island in Indonesia.  The island, which sits across the Lombok Strait from the somewhat better-known island of Bali, is seeing growing interest as a vacation destination.  However, most of the tourist traffic is headed to the western side of the island; this is where the principal city Mataram is located as well as the Gili Islands.  The eastern part of the islands is much less densely populated, and mountainous.  

This video by contributor and drone pilot Hamdani captures the Indonesian island of Lombok as it recovered from a powerful earthquake in 2018.   The main shock, which occurred on August 5, 2018, registered a 7.0 on the Richter Scale.  It was preceded and succeeded by quakes in the 6+ range.  The epicenter was near a small town in the North Lombok Regency, in the northern part of the island.  Lombok is the principal island of the West Nusa Tengarra region, immediately east of Bali in southern Indonesia.  

Check out this amazing drone video of a little-known island in southern Indonesia, compliments of contributor aronzblackz.  The crazily-shaped Sumbawa is part of a chain known as the Lesser Sunda Islands which run across the southern part of the great archipelago.  It's part of the West Nusa Tengarra region, which includes the better-known island of Lombok to its west.  While Lombok is the most populous island of West Nusa, Sumbawa is actually considerably larger area-wise; it covers a land area of just over 15k square km, or just under 6k square mi.
