The Pearl in the Heart of Tien Shan

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Top AirVuz contributor earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this fantastic drone video from the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan.  Much of the video was filmed in the Tian Shan Mountains, which also cover portions of Kazakhstan, China, and Uzbekistan, and whose peaks range up to 24.4k ft. above sea level (7.4k m).  The video also includes footage from Ala Archa National Park (which lies within the Tian Shan), the Skazka Canyon, the Jeti Oguz rock formation, the Arabel Plateau, and the giant Lakes Issyk kul and Song kul.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

Amidst the remote Tien Shan mountains on the border of Kyrgyzstan and China lies a massive stretch of ice known as the Inylchek glacier. After acclimatizing on a 3-day Ala-kul trek, we were the last trekking group of the year to venture onto this glacier and reach the basecamp of Khan Tengri and Pobeda (where an unfortunate climbing drama was unfolding at the same time). Combined with footage of highlights such as Ala Archa, the Skazka canyon, the Jeti Oguz rock formation, the Arabel plateau, the vast lakes of Issyk kul and Song kul, as well as Kyrgyz traditions including Kok Boru and eagle hunting, this movie is an ode to a wonderful country and a mezmerizing trip. Big thanks to Offtrack for the organisation!
