Israel, an independent country in the Middle East since 1947 when it was created out of British-held Palestine, is one of the world's smallest countries in geographical extent. Despite its small footprint (just over 20k square km or 8k square mi) the country is home to some of the most important cultural and historical sites in the world, including numerous ancient ruins, holy sites of three major religions in the capital city Jerusalem, and many monasteries in its southern deserts. The country also features cosmopolitan seaport cities on the Mediterranean (notably Tel Aviv/Jaffa and Haifa) plus incredible natural scenery that includes deserts, mountains, and inland seas. This collection features some of the best aerial footage of this amazing country! Aerial photo: “Gathering Storm [on the Dead Sea]” by AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Airworks.
