The World's Best Beaches from the Sky

Like Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Australia's Sydney is known for being home to some of the world's best beaches. The most famous of these is Bondi Beach, which sits to the southeast of the city center.  Contributor Potent Sky took his DJI Mavic Pro out to Bondi Beach to capture some remarkable 4K aerial footage of the area.  Highlights include bird's eye views of the Bronte coastal walk, Bronte Beach, Tamarama Beach, and Bondi Icebergs.  It's one of the draws that has made Sydney one of the world's top destinations.

Contributor and pilot drone tricks used a DJI Spark drone to create this beautiful aerial tour of three of the most famous beaches in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro: Copacabana, Ipanema, and Arpoador Beaches.  All three lie south of the city center, on the Atlantic coastline, near the mouth of Guanabara Bay.  Copacabana is closest to the bay's opening and the most well known of the three; it may be the world's most famous beach.  Ipanema lies to its southwest, with Arpoador in between the two.  

Part of the Dalmatian region of Croatia, the Zlatni Rat is one of the top beaches in all of Europe. Its distinctive-looking “V” shape along with its white pebble beach and Mediterraneans pine grove makes it an easy choice for travel brochure covers. Pilot droningdutchman covers the famous beach with top-down shots of the umbrellas and blankets that bring pops of color to the white sand. He also takes a variety of pans and reveals, each one showing yet another beautiful angle of the famous beach.

Cascais is a town lying on the Portuguese Atlantic coast immediately to the west of Portugal's capital city Lisbon, near the middle of the country's Atlantic coastline.  Part of the area known as the Portuguese Riviera, Cascais is the most popular beach area in Portugal and one of the finest on the European continent.  Contributor Deardrone used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to fly over this spectacular resort area, and the aerial views of the colorful umbrellas, happy beach goers, and refreshing waters is not to be missed!

While the island of Barbados is considered a Caribbean island, it's technically not in the Caribbean Sea.  Rather, it sits due east of St. Vincent, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.  With much stronger waves, Barbados offers the best surfing in the region.  In this video by Niall Thomas, you'll get a bird's eye view of the Barbados surfing scene in the Soup Bowl area on its northern shore.  It's part of an area called Bathsheba Beach, which was recently named one of the world's top 25 beaches by CN Traveler.

Tulum, Mexico was an ancient (Pre-Columbian) Mayan walled city prior to the conquest of Mexico by Spain.  Lying in what is now the Mexican State of Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula, the ruins of the city stand on a bluff above some of the finest beach territory on the Caribbean Sea.  Drone pilot and travel vlogger JustinPoore used a drone to create this amazing view of this ancient city on the Mayan Riviera, whose beach was recently ranked #5 in a Lonely Planet survey of the world's top beaches.    

Top contributor Christian Cuvelier used a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone to create this marvelous drone video of one of the top beach areas in the Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean.  Anse Lazio is located in the northern part of Praslin Island, the second largest of the group.  Praslin is located to the northeast of Mahe, the largest of the Seychelles and home to the majority of its population.  Anse Lazio was recently identified by the Lonely Planet as being one of the country's top beaches.

Content crator and pilot Matteo Pictures created this stunning drone video of a remote yet very well known beach in southeastern Australia.  Hyams Beach is located near the southern end of the coastline of the state of New South Wales.  It's a 2-3 hour drive south of Sydney, not far from the border with the neighboring state of Victoria.  The beach is known for its deep turquoise colored waters.  Hyams Beach sits on a nearly-enclosed body of water called Jarvia Bay, beyond which lies the open ocean.  

Top content creator and pilot iDroneU collaborated with a swimsuit design company to make this amazing drone video of fashion models showing their stuff on a Venezuelan island in the Caribbean Sea.  The video was shot in Los Roques, a group of islands and coral reefs lying a short distance off the northern Venezuelan mainland coast.  Watch this video to get a bird's eye view of a tropical paradise, and you will quickly see why Los Roques is widely considered one of the top beaches in the Caribbean Basin.

Check out this beautiful drone video of a tiny South Pacific island called Aitutaki Island.  It's one of the Cook Islands, a tiny sovereign island nation which is partially managed by New Zealand.  Aitutaki lies a bit to the north of the larger and somewhat better known island of Rarotonga.  Aitutaki covers just 18 square km (around 7 square mi.) and has a population of about 2k.  Named the "World's Most Beautiful Island" by the Lonely Planet in 2010, it's appeared in numerous TV shows, including Survivor and the British show Shipwrecked.

In this video, the top contributors and drone pilots Besos (aka the Flip Flop Squad) give us a bird's eye view of one of Australia's top beaches.  Whitehaven beach is on Whitsunday Island, the largest of a group of islands which lie off the coast of the state of Queensland.  They lie between Conway National Park on the mainland and the Great Barrier Reef.  Whitsunday Island was recently ranked #2 in a survey of the world's best beaches published by the Lonely Planet, and it regularly appears atop other "best beach" lists.  

Brighton is one of the most popular seaside resort towns on England's southern coast.  It lies in East Sussex, about an hour's drive south of London (assuming no traffic).  Its popularity as a seaside retreat dates to the 18th century.  Brighton Pier, which opened right before the turn of the 20th century, features rides and food kiosks for tourists to check out. The city is also known for its upbeat nightlife, shopping, art scene and festivals. CH drone shows off the colorful coastal city in this 4K aerial film. 

The Yasawa Islands are some of the most well known amongst the hundreds which make up the South Pacific island nation of Fiji.  The chain begins to the northwest of the main island of Fiji and extend to the northeast.  These islands became very well known several decades ago when they were used as the primary shooting location for the 1980 blockbuster The Blue Lagoon, starring Brooke Shields.  In this video, you'll get a bird's eye view of the Yasawa's compliments of contributor and drone pilot Safi Dehili.

Mue Ne is a coastal town in the Bình Thuận province of southern Vietnam.  It is the center of a roughly 50 km (30 mi.) stretch of coastline that has become a popular spot for surfers and kiteboarders around the world.  In this video, contributor Rufus Blackwell used a drone to film some of the kiteboarding action in this tropical paradise, recently named one of Asia's top 20 beaches by CNN Travel.  He then did some post-production editing and the result is some astounding aerial video content. 

With a population of over 200,000, Huntington Beach, California is the largest of the Orange County beach towns south of Los Angeles.  The town was named after Henry Huntington, a powerful Southern California railway man who helped to conceive of Orange County as a means to extend his great LA rail empire.   Huntington Beach is easily distinguished by its pier, whose bright orange roof contrasts brilliantly with the ocean waters.    See it from a bird's eye in this drone video by dronestarvisions.  

The Greek island of Crete has a number of small islands surrounding it, which are part of the Crete administrative region.  One of these islands is called Elafonisi, which lies off the western tip of the main island.  The waters separating the two islands are extremely shallow such that it's often possible to walk between them.  The uninhabited Elafonisi was recently named as one of Europe's top beaches by Travel + Leisure.  You can check it out from above in this drone video by contributor Marco Miele.  

Content creator and pilot Iain Jordan created this beautiful drone video of a well known beach on the Caribbean island of Anguilla.  Anguilla, a British territory, is one of the northern Leeward Islands which form the eastern boundary of the sea.  It lies more or less due east from the British Virgin Islands.  The spot filmed is Shoal Bay, which lies on the northern shore of the island, towards its eastern end.  Shoal Bay was listed in the Forbes Ultimate List of the best Caribbean Beaches for 2019.  

Top contributor and drone pilot jonaharding created this stunning aerial video of one of the most famous beaches in the USA"s Pacific Northwest: Oregon's Cannon Beach.  It's located in the far northwestern corner of the Beaver State, near the border with Washington.  The stunningly beautiful area was "discovered" by Lewis & Clark in their historic journey west in the early 19th century.  With its gigantic seastacks (offshore rocks), the beach regularly appears on lists of the world's top beaches.  

Reynisfjara is one of the most well known of Iceland's famed black sand beaches.  It's located near the town of Vik in the southern part of the island.  The beach and the basalt rock formations just offshore have caught the attention of TV and movie producers: the beach has appeared in HBO's Game of Thrones series and also in the Star Wars movie Rogue One (2016), in the latter case as Planet Eadu.  Check out the famous beach from above, compliments of top contributor and drone pilot Minglam.   

Check out this epic dronie shot from a famous island beach near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, compliments of award-winning contributor and drone pilot Postandfly.    It's part of the Marietas Islands, which lie a few km/mi west of Puerto Vallarta in the state of Nayarit.  The islands were used by the Mexican military for bombings and other test explosions in the early 1900's, forming the giant crater-like formation you will see in the video.  The island was closed to the public due to environmental concerns.  

One of the things which has had an enormous impact on the cityscape of Miami, Florida is the transformation of the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach.  Once thought of as simply a haven for retirees from the Northeast, the area later became the seedy and crime-infested area depicted in the hit 1980's TV show Miami Vice.  South Beach's rebirth began within a few years; it's now considered one of the most fashionable places in the world.  Aerialfilmsmia takes us on an aerial tour of this amazing place known as SoBe; enjoy the views! 

Check out this stunning drone video of Turkey's Ölüdeniz Lagoon, compliments of AirVuz contributor agrippa907th.  It's located near the town of Fethiye in Muğla, the province which covers the southwestern "corner" of the country.  The lagoon, which is known for its crystal-clear blue waters, is mostly surrounded by a national park.  The video also features some great shots of the beach at the opening of the lagoon (which is connected here to the Aegean Sea); the beach was recently ranked #2 in a Travelzoo survey of the world's best beaches.  

Boracay is a tiny island amidst the hundreds which make up the middle region of the Philippines known as the Central Visayan Islands.  It sits just to the north of Panay, one of the country's largest and most populous islands.  With its diminutive size and brilliant white-sand beaches, Boracay has emerged as one of the world's up-and-coming beach destinations.  A2films created this beautiful bird's eye view of Boracay, which was recently ranked #2 in the widely-followed CN Traveler survey of the world's best islands.  

Award-winning content creator and pilot Poastandfly created this stunning drone video of one of the most pristine beaches on Mexico's western (Pacific Ocean) coastline.  Zipolite Beach is situated in the southern state of Oaxaca. It's about two km (just over a mile) long and only about 40 meters (around 130 ft. wide.  It's one of the more remote beach areas on the country's western coast.  Named as one of Mexico's top beaches by Coastal Living, it's known in part for being the only legal nude beach in Mexico.

Reñaca is a popular beach along Chile's long Pacific coastline.  It lies on the north end of Viña del Mar, Chile's fourth largest city and home to one of its largest concentration of beaches. Viña del Mar is part of the Valparaiso region, about midway down the coastline and just north of Santiago.  Reñaca was recently listed as one of the top beaches in South America in a ranking published by the Travel Channel.  Contributor Absafilms used a drone to create this beautiful aerial of Reñaca at sunset.

Brazil's Praia do Forte is one of the most popular beach areas in the state of Bahia, one of the states in Brazil's Northeast Region  This beach, located a bit north of the state capital Salvador, has everything for a beach destination: from epic waves for surfing, to whale watching, to snorkeling and beach town exploring. Contributor imoveisbrasilbahia created this beautiful drone video of Praia do Forte, recently named as one of the top beaches in South America in a survey by the Travel Channel.  

Goa is India's smallest state and also one of its most well known.  Originally the center of Portuguese rule of India going back to the 1500's, it's now known primarily as one of the top beach destinations in Asia.  Situated on the country's western coast on the Arabian Sea (considered part of the Indian Ocean) south of the great city of Mumbai, the area was "rediscovered" by the hippie crowd in the 1960's.  You can see this beautiful region in this drone video, which includes footage of its famous Anjuna Beach.

The Punta Cana region of the Dominican Republic covers the eastern side of the country, which shares the island of Santo Domingo with Haiti.  It is a small peninsula at the country's eastern tip.  Amongst its most legendary beaches is Bavaro Beach, which sits on the northern side of Punta Cana, facing the Atlantic Ocean.  The beach was recently named by Coastal Living as one of the world's top 25 beaches.  You can check it out from a bird's eye perspective in this drone video by content creator ad pilot BE:73 Aerial.

Top content creator and drone pilot Christian Cuvelier created one of the most epic dronie "reveals" we've ever seen in this amazing shot from Southern Thailand.  It was shot at Phra Nang Beach, at the southern end of a peninsula in the Andaman Sea in the Krabi province.  As the drone rises, you will see the island of Koh Rang Nok on your left and Railay, the famed Krabi beach, on your left.  The area lies just a bit to the south of Phang Nga Bay.  Krabi Beach was recently named one of the top 20 beaches in Asia by CNN Travel.

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner davetke2002 brings us this outstanding drone video from the fabled beaches of El Nido in the Philippines.  El Nido is a first class municipality which sits at the tip of the peninsula which juts out from the northeastern end of the Palawan, the westernmost main island of the Philippines archipelago.   El Nido consistently ranks amongst the world's top beach destinations, appearing near the top of a recent Condé Nast Traveler's list of "20 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World." 

Check out this drone video of one of the most famous beaches in Sri Lanka, compliments of contributor and pilot Aerial Eye.  Hikkaduwa Beach lies in the southwestern part of this Indian Ocean island nation, south of the capital city Colombo.  With its many reef breaks, Hikkaduwa Beach is popular with surfers, divers, and others who simply enjoy world-class beaches.  That moniker is certainly no exaggeration; Hikkaduwa was named one of the top 20 beaches in Asia in a recent ranking by CNN Travel.

A calanque is a small bay or inlet with steep sides and is unique to certain parts of the Mediterranean coastline.  The most well-known calanques lie around the middle of the southern coast of France, a bit east of the city of Marseille in the Bouches-du-Rhône Department.  In this video, AirVuz contributor duminciucbogdan catches a 'dronie' with his friends at the Calanque D'en Vau, one of the more famous of the calanques.  Calanque D'en Vau was recently named one of Europe's top beaches by Travel + Leisure.

Here's an outstanding aerial view of a fabled beach in Southern Thailand, compliments of top contributor 70daysaroundtheworld.  Railay Beach is located on the western side of a peninsula of the same name in the province of Krabi.  Facing southwest towards the Andaman Sea, the beach sits on a crescent-shaped shallow bay just above the peninsula's tip.  Accessible only by boat due to the giant rock formations which form its northern and southern ends, Railay showed up in the #9 spot in a recent US News ranking of the world's best beaches.  

Puerto Rico's Flamenco Beach lies on the island of Culebra, which sits about 30 km (around 17 mi.) to the east of the "mainland" island in the Caribbean Sea.  With only 2,000 residents spread across 60 square km (around 12 square mi.), the island is perfect for those seeking to avoid crowded beach destinations.  Flamenco appeared in the #13 spot in a recent survey of the world's best beaches by Coastal Living.  You can check out this beautiful bit of paradise from a bird's eye perspective in this drone video.  

AeroVisionNY created this drone video of a well-known beach on the island of Bermuda, an island which lies over 1k km (around 670 mi.) off the coast of North Carolina in the Atlantic Ocean.  Horseshoe Beach is situated on the southern shore of the island, which resembles a tadpole on a map.  Even though it's not in the Caribbean Sea, the beach was listed as one of the best Caribbean beaches in a 2019 survey published by Forbes.  

New contributor Chitchai Sripirom brings us this stunning drone video from a famous beach on an island in Southern Thailand.  The beach runs along Maya Bay on the island of Ko Phi Phi Lee, one of the main islands of the Phi Phi Archipelago in the Andaman Sea.  Located southeast of the somewhat better-known island of Phuket, the Phi Phi Islands are part of the province of Krabi.  Along with other spots on the island, Maya Bay was one of the primary filming locations for the 2000 adventure movie the Beach starring Leonard DiCaprio.  

AirVuz content creator and drone pilot FoxFlight 2020 used a DJI Mavic Pro 2 to create this excellent aerial video of Clearwater Beach, Florida.  Clearwater Beach is located on a barrier island across the Intercoastal Waterway from Clearwater, the "third city" of the Tampa-St. Petersburg metropolitan area.  Named the best beach in the USA and the sixth-best beach in the world by Trip Advisor in 2019, Clearwater Beach is accessible from the mainland by road via the Clearwater Memorial Causeway.  

Marinha Beach (Praia da Marinha) is one of the most famous in Portugal.  It's located in the muinicipality of Lagoa in Algarve, the southernmost region of mainland Portugal.  Seen in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor Steffen de Back, the beach is easily recognizable due to the cliffs which stand behind it.  Marinha Beach has earned countless accolades.  The Michelin Guide named it one of the ten most beautiful beaches in Europe.  More recently, CNN named it one of the 20 most beautiful beaches in the world with cliffs.  

Contributor and pilot Iain Jordan created this beautiful drone's eye view of a spot on the Caribbean island of Anguilla.  Maundays Bay is one of a series of bays that line the southern shore of the island, a British Overseas Territory which is one of the northernmost of the Caribbean's Leeward Islands.  The bay lies towards the western end of the coast, between Shoal and Cove Bays.  In 2019, Conde Nast Traveler put Maundays Bay in the #1 spot in their widely-followed ranking of the world's best island beaches.  

Of the islands that comprise the Mindanao Region of the Philippines, Siargo is probably the best known to the traveler community.  It's situated to the northeast of the main island of Mindanao, in the province of Surigao del Norte.  Siargo has some of the most magnificent natural scenery in the Philippines, with stunning white sand beaches, coral reefs, and mangroves.  Contributor Deka0831 used her drone to bring us this amazing aerial tour of the island, ranked as the #1 island in the 2019 CN Traveler survey.

Contributor and DVA winner druno created this epic selfie from one of the world's most famous beaches: Navagio Beach, on the Greek island of Zakynthos.  Situated on the southern side of this bit of paradise in the Ionian Sea, the cove was named as the #1 beach in the 2018 edition of Lonely Planet's World's Best Beaches survey.  Navagio Beach is sometimes called Shipwreck Cove in reference to its famous landmark: the wreck of the MV Panagiotis, which grounded here in 1980 under somewhat mysterious circumstances. 

Check out this drone video of one of Bali's most famous beaches, compliments of otis72@virgilio.it. Padang-Padang Beach is located on the western side of Uluwatu, a peninsula of the southern shore of this Indonesian island.  For years it was fairly well known among the worldwide surfing community, but what vaulted this small strip of beach near the Uluwatu Temple to an entirely different level of fame was its appearance as a filming scene in the 2010 blockbuster Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts.  

Take in these drone videos of Siesta Key Beach, one of the most well-known beach areas on Florida's western (Gulf of Mexico) coast.  The beach is located on the western side of Siesta Key, a barrier island which lies just offshore from the town of Sarasota, about an hour's drive south of Tampa.  In 2020, TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice™ awards named it the #11 beach in the world.  The beach was the inspiration and filming location for the reality TV show series Siesta Key Beach, which premiered on MTV in 2017.  

Contributor Iain Joran created this beautiful drone video of Half Moon Bay on the island of Antigua.  The bay is on the eastern coast of the island, on the Atlantic Ocean.  While the vast majority of the country's roughly 80,000 residents live on the island of Antigua, they are concentrated in the western and northwestern shorelines.  By contrast, the eastern part of the island has no population centers of any size.  Watch the video and you'll see why this is considered one of the Caribbean's top beaches.

Playa San Bartolo is a beach town located roughly in the middle of Peru's long Pacific Ocean (western) coastline.  The beach sits on a small bay near the south end of the province of Lima, about a 90 minute drive south of the capital on the 1S highway.  Playa San Bartolo has become a popular surfing spot, and was recently named as one of the top beaches in South America in a ranking published by the Travel Channel.  You can check it out from a bird's eye perspective in this drone video by contributor and pilot Josemulti.

If you want to understand why the Philippines island of Siargao was ranked as the #1 island in a recent survey by CN Traveler, check out this stunning drone video by top AirVuz contributor and pilot enoksen89.  The island, which includes numerous small "satellites", is situated in the southern province of Surigao del Norte, more or less due east from the provincial capital Surigao City (which lies at the northern tip of the island of Mindanao).  With dozens of reefs, coves, and white sand beaches, it is truly a tropical paradise.  

Top contributor and pilot harispomonis created this stunning drone video of one of the world's top beaches.  It's called  Navagio Beach, aka Smuggler's Cove, and it lies on the north side of the Greek island of Zakynthos in the Ionian Sea.  It's famous in part because it's the home of the wreck of the MV Panagiotis, which ran aground here in 1980 after allegedly being chased by the Greek navy for suspected smuggling.  It became even more famous in 2018, when Lonely Planet named it the world's #1 beach.  

AirVuz contributor mozaerial used a DJI Mini 3 drone to create this excellent drone video from fabled Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.  Even as Hawaii's "other" islands have become increasingly popular, Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu continues to be seen as one of the world's most iconic beaches.  Considered the birthplace of modern surfing, Waikiki Beach is located roughly halfway between downtown Honolulu and Diamond Head to its southeast, on the southern shore of Hawaii's most populous island.  

Boa Viagem is one of the most famous beaches of Brazil, a country known in part for its beaches.  It's located in the city of Recife, the capital of the northeastern state of Pernambuco and one of the country's ten largest.  Seen from above in this excellent drone video by new contributor godronnerecife, Boa Viagem stretches for about 5 mi. (8 km) a bit south of the city center, and the neighborhood which runs alongside it is Recife's entertainment and retail center.  It's known as Brazil's longest stretch of urbanized beach.  

Contrbutor and pilot nuchearcl created this drone video of a beautiful seaside town on the Chilean coast.  It's called Zapallar, and it's in the Petroca province of the Valparaiso Region, a bit less than halfway down Chile's length.  The city is considered one of the top beach destinations from the Chilean capital of Santiago, which lies about two hours to the southeast, as well as from Valparaiso, which is only a bit over an hour away.  The city is distinguished by its steep hills and horeshoe-shaped bay.

Contributor Luiz Jr. created this beautiful aerial video of one of the most well known beaches in Northeastern Brazil.  Paracuru Beach is in the state of Ceará, one of the larger states in this massive region that includes nine of Brazil's 26 states.  The beach has become a favorite for residents of Fortaleza, which lies just a bit over an hour's drive to the northwest.  Fortaleza, the state capital Ceará, is one of the three largest cities of Northeastern Brazil along with Salvador and Recife.  

In this video, Chir72 gives us a bird's eye view of a well known beach on the eastern side of the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.  Cala Goloritzé is actually a new beach, it was created by a giant landslide which occurred in the 1960's.  Due to fears about environmental degradation caused by erosion and human activity, access to Cala Goloritze is restricted to foot traffic.  While it's off-the-beaten-path, it's definitely not undiscovered - Cala Goloritz appeared on a list of the world's 40 beaches in a recent survey by Harper's Bazaar.

Bamburgh is a village off the coast of Northumberland, England. With a population of less than 500, you’re sure to find a wide open beach or two to take your horse out for a ride and watch the sunrise. That is exactly what drone pilot Jamie Dob does in this beautiful drone video of the English coastline. See the sun rise over the calm ocean waters, while the morning glow basks Bamburgh Castle (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1952) in dazzling light. This video was a Drone Video of the Week nominee in May, 2019.

AirVuz contributor HendrikW brings us this excellent drone video from a stunning beach area in the Central American country of Costa Rica.  The video was filmed around Uvita Beach (Playa Uvita), which is located on a peninsula which is shaped like a whale's tail and which is located about two-thirds of the way down the country's western (Pacific Ocean) coastline in the Bahía Ballena District of the province of Puntarenas.  Playa Uvita and its neighbor beaches are part of the Marino Ballena National Park.     

Here is a great drone video of a famous beach on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.  Nissi Beach is one of the most popular spots in Ayia Napa, a beach holiday development area on a peninsula in the southeastern corner of the island.  The beach runs for about a third of a mile (around 500 m) and is well-known for its crystal blue waters.  It takes its name from a small island which lies a short distance offshore.  Nissi is a Blue Flag beach, meaning it meets the sustainability requirements of the Foundation for Environmental Education.

The Cayman Islands are the smallest of the Greater Antilles, the group of islands which lie in the northern Caribbean Sea.  It's a group of three islands which are under British control, the largest of which is Grand Cayman.  The Caymans are known for their white sand beaches as well as their secretive banking system which has made the territory an offshore financial haven.  In this video, top contributor Majestic applies his considerable editing skills to give us a marvelous time-lapsed view of Grand Cayman.

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner BeemFlights brings us this fantastic drone video from the fabled Greek island of Milos, the southernmost of the Cyclades grouping in the western Aegean Sea.  Much of the video was filmed over and around Sarakiniko Beach, which lies on a horseshoe-shaped bay on the island's northern shore; this beach is famous for its its lunar landscape.   At the :26 mark, there's a great shot of Kleftico Beach; this beach is located on the bay which effectively divides the island into eastern and western halves.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist TravelPenguin brings us this excellent drone video of a well-known beach town in Portugal called Burgao.  It's located on the southern coast of Algarve (the southernmost region of mainland Portugal), just west of the town of Lagos.  Its namesake beach, Praia do Burgau, is partly backed by cliffs, creating an intimate setting which is commonly found in Algarve's beaches.  In 2010, Lonely Planet readers voted Burgau as the "quaintest beachside village" in Europe.

Maravanthe is one of the most well-known beach areas along the southern part of India's western coastline on the Arabian Sea.  Seen in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor Amith, it's located in the Udupi District of the state of Karnataka, about 70 mi (around 115 km) north of the port city of Mangalore.  The area features several miles/km of white sand beaches, in some stretches sitting on a narrow strip of land between the Souparnika River and the sea.  Maravanthe is sometimes referred to as the Virgin Beach.  

Caixa d'Aço Beach is a standout in Brazil, a country known in part for its spectacular beaches.  The famous beach and getaway destination is located in the town of Porto Belo in Santa Catarina, the middle of the three states which make up the official region of Southern Brazil.  The city lies on the north side of an oddly-shaped peninsula, part of which is covered by the Arvoredo Marine Biological Reserve, a giant biosphere park.  The video was created by contributor and drone pilot andreys2005.

Niterói is a sort of (much smaller) twin to the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, the second largest in this giant South American country.  It sits across the great Guanabara Bay from the larger city, a sort of Oakland to the San Francisco of Rio.  The area is sometimes used to define the larger area on the east side of its bay, only part of which is in the Niterói city limits.  In this drone video by Digital Peace, you'll get a nice aerial view of the beaches on the Niterói side of the great bay, north and east of central Rio.  

Bečići Beach is one of the most famous in the Southeast European country of Montenegro.  The beach stretches for a bit over a mile (around 2 km) along the Adriatic Sea, a little southeast of the town of Budva.  Seen in this drone video by multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner Beautiful Montenegro, most of its beachfront is occupied by high-end hotels and resorts, including the five star Hotel Splendid.  Bečići Beach is part of the Budva Riviera, a roughly 20 mi. (35 km) stretch of coastline surrounding Budva.  

Perhaps as much as any country, Greece is known for its beaches.  In this excellent compilation drone video by AirVuz contributor fakefaketv, you'll get an aerial tour of some of Greece's most famous beaches.  Featured beaches include: Egremni on the island of Lefkada, Voidokilia in the Peloponnese, Kombonada (Kythira), Balos (Crete), Kolymbithra (Tinos), Seychelles and Nas (Ikaria), Navagio (Zakynthos), Tis Grias To Pidima (Andros), Porto Katsiki (Lefkada), Valtaki (Peloponnese), and Elafonisi (Crete).
