Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea after Sicily. Like the larger island, it's an autonomous region of Italy, which includes several smaller surrounding islands. Home to over 1.5 million people, Sardinia is one of the top beach destinations in the Mediterranean and a prime destination within Italy. It's known first and foremost for its spectacular beaches, many of which sit in hidden bays and inlets that are only accessible by sailboat or powerboat. It's quite mountainous, and both its interior and coastal areas are home to many spectacular rock formations and ancient abandoned mines. Here is a collection of the best drone videos from this magical Italian island. Aerial photo: "La torre di Portoscuso, Sardinia" by AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Sergio Madau.
