The video was filmed over and around Scoresby Sound (Kangertittivaq in Greenlandic), which is a large fjord system located about halfway down Greenland's long eastern coastline, well inside the Arctic Circle. One of the largest and most extensive such systems in the world, the area around the sound is virtually uninhabited - the sole settlement in the region has a population of less than 500.

THE ICE FJORD In the wake of the north wind - an expedition aboard a two-masted wooden schooner, sailing through the untouched beauty of East Greenland. Sailing through the largest fjord system in the world: Scoresby Sound at 71° North! This fjord system, together with the small village of Ittoqqortoormiit, is one of the most isolated places on the planet. A daunting experience in the High Arctic, as our boat gave us an idea of what adventurous and difficult expeditions must have been like back then. A journey that exceeded all our expectations. The Scoresby Sound, Kangertittivaq in Greenlandic, amazed us all!
