Pele’s Arrival

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

The island of Hawaii is formed from five separate volcanoes that erupted out of the Pacific Ocean floor; in the native Hawaiian version of history, this occurred with the help of Pele, the goddess of fire.  The largest of these is Mt. Kilauea, which is an infant in geological terms - less than 300k years old.  While not particularly high (its peak altitude is about 1.25k meters or around 4.1k ft.), it is extremely active.  For evidence of the last point, check out this drone video of the volcano in the area of Pahoa by Reuben Langdon.
