Oponický hrad

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Slovakia's Apponyi Fortress is situated near the village of Oponice in the country's Nitra region, which covers the southwestern part of the country. It occupies a strategically important position just west of the Tribeč Mountains, which are part of the Inner Western Carpathians. Seen here in this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot Pavol Turčani, the fortress took its final medieval form in the 13th century, although it underwent significant alterations thereafter. It's been in a ruined state since the early 1700s.
