Čachtický Castle

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Contributor Pavol Turčani created this stunning drone video of one of the most well known castles in Slovakia. Čachtice Castle is situated in the northwestern Trenčín Region. The 13th century castle derives its fame in part from its association with a Hungarian noblewoman named Elizabeth Báthory, who was accused of murdering dozens (perhaps hundreds) of people in the castle around the turn of the 16th century. The castle was used to film the opening scene of Dragonheart (1996) starring Dennis Quaid.
