How do I begin to tell you about a year that had such a profound effect on my career, hobby and family? My year began as any other year...filled with hope and optimism for what was in store for the next 12 months. I was looking forward to spending the year traveling with my wife, flying FPV around the world and experiencing the honeymoon that we couldn't take the year before. Then the lockdowns began...it felt as if my beautiful city was under siege by an invisible enemy. An unforgiving enemy with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Our worlds stopped in an instant. People and things that we once loved were fading into an existence that can only be recalled through our memories. My wife and family were severely stricken by COVID. It was hard to watch my wife suffer. The only comfort I had were the thoughts of being able to get back out there with her and fly. She's my copilot...my spotter...my world. It took her five weeks to recover and almost two months before the effects wore off and she was ready to get back into the world and experience what we both loved. During the last six months, we lost four family members to this invisible enemy. No matter how we tried to escape this reality byway of distractions, there was always something lurking in the background to remind us that there truly was no escape. During this time, I lost all of my motivation to want to create. A lot of the footage in this video I had not seen up until a week ago. It was an awesome experience to review the footage with my wife and reflect on how we tried to make the best of things, despite all that we have experienced. I spent most of the last few months hoarding footage, hoping that one day I would have the perfect opportunity to share it with those I love and admire, and of course, with all the amazingly supportive strangers that I have come across during these trying times. This video is a recap of what I have done in the last year. This video also serves as a thank you to everyone that wanted and expected more from me - I owe you all my most sincerest gratitude. And most importantly, I owe my greatest debt of gratitude to my amazing wife - she's the reason why I made this video. Happy New Years!
