The Williamsburg Savings Bank Tower
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Check out this fantastic first person view (FPV) diving video of a famous landmark of Brooklyn, New York, compliments of AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Sparkitekt. The Williamsburg Savings Bank was completed in 1929, just months before the stock market crash which ushered in the Great Depression. With a roof height of 156 meters (512 ft.), the 37 story tower was the tallest skyscraper in Brooklyn until 2010. Extensively renovated in 2006-7, it was converted to a luxury residential building now known as 1 Hanson Place.

The Williamsburg Savings Bank was one of the tallest buildings within the Brooklyn skyline. With the change of time came a new cityscape that slowly diminished the size of one of the grandest structures in Brooklyn, New York. It held its position as the tallest building in Brooklyn until 2010. This building was miraculously constructed within two years, and it still holds the title of one the tallest clocktower structures in the world. It brings me great pleasure to present to everyone this glorious achievement of architecture basked in the glow of an NYC sunset.
