Monte Junto @ Portugal
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
The Serra de Montejunto Protected Landscape is part of the Motenjunto-Estrela mountain range in Portugal. A protected area is a location that receives the protection because of its recognized natural, ecological or culture values. This particular area is part of the Estremenho Limestone Massif, which is full of caves, sewage ponds, and (most importantly) prehistoric fossils. This epic flight featuring the area earned pilot Tiago.Guano an FPV Pilots to Watch honor.

The Monte Junto Mountain is situated on the northern area of the great Lisboa district, in between the Cadaval (north) and Palenque (south) departments, in a region of great natural beauty. Monte Junto Mountain offers a curious and diversified landscape and climacteric contrast. Situated in between the littoral and the Tagus river valley, the Montejunto Mountain lines off from the surrounding landscape by its altitude and by its natural features. On the western side, surrounded by the blue ocean, are situated the lovely Berlengas islands and on the northwest is Nazaré; to the South the luxurious Sintra Mountain range and to Southeast Santarem and the greenish Tagus plain terrains. From the wonderful Salvé Rainha Viewpoint one has a wonderful panorama. Montejunto Mountain is the highest natural viewpoint around this region, at about 666 meters high. This geologic structure, with 15km long and 7km width is rich in caves, grottoes, ponds, pre-historic necropolis and fossils.
