For anyone looking for a special adventure, this is just the thing. On the outskirts of Felanitx stands a huge dilapidated industrial object that makes the hearts of all "lost-place photographers" beat faster. The "Cooperative cellar Es Sindicat" is the former largest winery complex of Mallorca and was built in the years 1919-1922. The largely dilapidated building measures 6,500 square meters, the plot 22,000 square meters. In the 1980s, around 1,800,000 liters of wine were produced here every year. In 1991, the plant was shut down due to economic problems and is now empty for over 25 years. All attempts to reuse the building were unsuccessful. Inside the listed building are several huge halls and various rooms where time has stood still. The two main halls contain 130 massive concrete tanks, each of which holds more than 10,000 liters. There are also old machines to admire and thousands of bottle labels are scattered around. As the building is easily accessible, many people have immortalized themselves with graffiti on the walls. This gives the whole a rather strange charm, but does not change the fact that the “Es Sindicat” winery is one of the most fascinating places in Mallorca, Spain.
