AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Of the dozens of mosques in Istanbul, Turkey that date to the Ottoman Period (1453-1918), there are two which are the best known: the Süleymaniye and Sultan Ahmed Mosques,, which date to the 16th and 17th centuries, respectively.  Both sit on the south side of the Golden Horn.  Seen here in this drone video by the Murat Tarna, the Süleymaniye Mosque was built on the orders of Suleiman the Magnificent, the longest serving Ottoman Sultan (emperor).  It's the city's second-largest mosque, after Hagia Sophia (now a museum).
