New contributor supilotfly brings us this excellent drone video of the city of Guanajuato in Central Mexico. Situated in a mountain valley, the city is the capital of its namesake province. Guanajuato was founded in the 16th century by the Spanish, when immense gold and silver deposits were found in the mountains surrounding the valley. Later, in 1810, the first major battle of the Mexican War of Independence was fought here. The well-preserved city center is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
