Standing a bit over 200 ft. tall (around 63 m), the tower was originally built in the 14th century and underwent numerous subsequent modifications and restorations. It sits in the Galata district in in the heart of old Istanbul, just to the north of the Golden Horn inlet to the Bosphorus. The video was filmed on the occasion of the anniversary of the Turkish Coast Guard.
