Civil War Forts in Louisiana

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Prior to the 20th century, the city of New Orleans was considered highly vulnerable to seaborne invasion.  As the area passed from Spanish to French to American to Confederate and back to US control, a series of fortresses were built to protect the great city from attack via the Gulf of Mexico.  In this drone video by AirWorthy Tours, you'll get aerial views of four of these fortresses: Fort Pike, built during the War of 1812; the ruins of the old Spanish Fort; and Forts St. Philip and Jackson, site of a major Civil War siege.
