Before the Rain

I recently visited one of my quiet places off-trail and up the Quilcene River. The Quilcene River is one of the smaller rivers on the Oly Pen. It is a litle gem, and I class it in the same categorie as the Dungeness and the Gray Wolf (both I have frequented countless times as a photographer). I enjoy both the Dungeness and the Quilcene because they flow from the darker sides of the Olympics, and therefore appear more lush and with darker tones and appealing character, in particular in the autumn and winter months. I wanted to visit one of my favorite river systems on the Olympic Peninsula before the autumn rains come and the rivers blow. Of course, I packed my Mavic 2 Pro.
