Valencia is the third-largest city of Spain, after Madrid and Barcelona.  It is situated around the midway point of Spain's long coastline on the Mediterranean Sea.  Valencia has one of the finest natural harbors in Europe, and it is the biggest port for containerships in the Mediterranean.  Top contributor Justin Poore used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to to make this amazing aerial portrait of the ancient city, the heart of a semi-autonomous region by the same name which has a very distinctive culture.

New AirVuz contributor davidpardo71 used a DJI Mavic Mini drone to create this fantastic aerial collage from the eastern coast of Spain.  The video was filmed over the coast of the Valencian Community, a semi-autonomous region of Spain which includes the three provinces of Valencia, Castellón, and Alicante, and which covers roughly the middle third of Spain's long Mediterranean Sea coastline.  The video features footage of the cliffs which line much of the Valencian coastline and some of its ports, including the city of Valencia.

Contributor Travel Lifestyle created this amazing aerial video of Penyal d'Ifac, a natural park on the central Mediterranean coast of Spain.  The area is a massive rock formation near the town of Calpe, which is in the Alicante province.  Alicante is the southernmost of the three provinces which make up Spain's autonomous Valencia region on its central Mediterranean coast, along with Valencia and Castellon.  The highest rock in the park, which is shown in the video, rises over 330 meters (about 1.1k ft) above the sea below.

Former DVOW Finalist Feeling Drone - Guillermo García brings us this excellent video from the Valencia Region of eastern Spain.  The video was created with drone footage from a DJI Mini 2 and a DJI Air 2S and complemented with some ground camera shots.  Starting at the :34 mark, you'll see the Vilafamés Castle, which sits atop a hill in the province of Castellón.  At 1:04, you'll see the castle of Peniscola, on the Castellón coastline.  Other highlights include a pair of windmills at the 1:40 and some great shots of cliffs and waterfalls.

In this video, contributor Skysurfer brings us some amazing aerial views of castles and castle towns in the Spanish region of Valencia.  The first town shown is that of Peniscola, a small coastal town in the province of Castellon.  The town's castle dates to the 12th century and possibly well before.  Its profile has risen in recent years since it appeared as a filming location in HBO's hit Game of Thrones TV series.  In Season 6 of the series, the town appears as Meereen in Slaver's Bay, on the continent of Essos.

Contributor Houman_the__sloth created this amazing drone video of one of the top rock climbing spots in Spain.  Using a DJI Mavic Air drone, he aerially filmed a climber scaling the rock faces near the village of Chulila.  Part of the comarca of Los Serranos, an eastern district of the province of Valencia.  It's located about an hour's drive northwest of the city of Valencia.  The rock formations of the Valencia provinces have turned the region into something of a magnet for climbers around the world.

AirVuz contributor and pilot davidpardo71 brings us this excellent drone video from the mountains of eastern Spain.  The video was shot over the interior of Castellón, the northernmost of the three provinces which make up the semi-autonomous Valencian Community.  Much of the interior of the province is covered by the mountains of the Iberian System, a chain of peaks which runs along a roughly northwest-to-southeast axis, forming the southwestern side of the Ebro Valley and extending nearly to the Mediterranean coastline.

Xàbia (Javea) is a small town on the coast of the Valencia Community of eastern Spain.  It is situated at the eastern extreme of Alicante, the southernmost of the provinces which make up the region.  It's a beautiful spot on a magnificent coastline, and on clear days the island of Ibiza can be seen from over 90 km (about 55 miles) away.  Contributor Larsdegroot created this beautiful drone video of the idyllic town on the Mediterranean coast, which lies just north of the stretch of coastline known as the Costa Blanca.

When we talk about locations that look so much better in first person view (FPV), this one is a perfect example. Featured in FPV Pilot to Watch, January 18th, 2019 JP brings us to Las Gredas de Bolnuevo. The heavily eroded sandstone formations along the beaches of Bolnuevo, Murcia, Spain have been shaped by water and wind over thousands of years. The area is also called Ciudad Encantada or "enchanted city," hence the name of the video. It's a unique and incredible area made magical by this smooth and tight flight.

Murcia is one of the least well known of the 17 semi-autonomous regions which make up the federation known as modern Spain.  The region is situated south of Valencia and north of Andalusia, on the country's eastern (Mediterranean) side.  It's one of the smaller regions (area-wise and population-wise), and is also unusual in that it consists of only one province - Murcia.  In this video, you'll get an aerial mini-tour of this region, compliments of contributor and drone pilot Johnny Franssens.

Drone pilot and contributor Edgaras Usas created this beautiful aerial view of a spot on Spain's Mediterranean coast.  The town of Moraira is situated near the tip of a peninsula in the province of Alicante.  It's a bit over an hour's drive south of the city of Valencia, near the northern end of a roughly 200 km (around 120 mi.) stretch of coastline known as the Costa Blanca.  Once a fairly sleepy area, since the 1970's the Costa Blanca has become a hot destination particularly for travelers from Germany and the UK.

The Costa Blanca is a stretch of over 124 miles of Mediterranean coastline in the Alicante province of southeastern Spain.  Part of the semi-autonomous region of Valencia, the area is particularly well-known and loved by tourists from the UK and Germany as well as from within Spain.  The attractions of the Costa Blanca include its gorgeous beaches as well as the many hiking destinations within the mountains just inland from the coast. The latter is the subject of this excellent drone video by Outdoor Media Spain.

One of the more recognizable landmarks along Spain's famed Costa Blanca coast is the Torre del Barranc d'Aigües.  Seen here in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot HendrikW, the lonely watchtower is situated about 18 km (around 10 mi.) south of Villajoyosa in Alicante, the southernmost of the three provinces which constitute the semi-autonomous Valencian Community region.  It's perched upon a hill, about 140 meters (around 450 ft.) above the Mediterranean beach below.

Mazarron is a medium-sized port town in the Murcia region of eastern Spain, located just south of the much larger city of Cartagena.  Surrounded by the Sierra de Las Moreras Mountains, the area was known for its mining resources in Roman times, and in the 19th century it became a mining boomtown.  Nowadays, its main industries are fishing and tourism.  Check out the historic port from above in this excellent drone video, which includes footage of the Spanish tall ship El Galeón Andalucía berthed in its harbor.

Contributor and drone pilot J_Eslava created this beautiful drone video of a snow-covered town in eastern Spain.  The area filmed was in the Sierra de Gúdar, a small mountain range in the country's Valencia region.  While the mountains' highest peak (Cabezo de las Cruces) is a modest 2k meters above sea level (around 6.6k ft.), they are frequently covered in snow in the winter.  The video was filmed after the historic snowfall associated with the winter Storm Gloria, which resulted in record snowfalls in January, 2020.

Check out this drone video of a well-known castle in the Valencia region of eastern Spain, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot gasendi.  It's called Barxell Castle (Castillo de Barxell-Alcoy), and it's located atop a rocky hill in the municipality of Alcoy in Alicante, the southernmost of the three provinces which comprise the region officially known as the Valencian Community.  Dating to the 13th century, the castle is very close to the Font Roja Natural and Serra Mariola Natural Parks, and an hour's drive from the Costa Blanca.

Xàtiva Castle is a fortification in the hills overlooking the town of the same name, about an hour's drive south of the Mediterrranean port city of Valencia.  Seen in this drone video by belogaev_art, the complex consists of two fortresses: the Castillo Menor, which dates to Roman times, and the Castillo Mayor, which was built during the medieval period.  During the latter era, the castle played an important role in the Reconquesta, the struggle in which Christian forces regained control of the Iberian Peninsula from Muslim rule.

Check out this drone video of a medieval castle on Spains's Mediterranean coast, compliments of SkySurfer.  It's in the town of Alcalà de Xivert, which lies in the Alicante province in the region of Valencia.  The town is strategically located in a valley between two small mountain ranges.  The castle here was originally built by the Moors, Muslims who controlled much of Spain for several centuries.  It was captured in the 13th century by forces of Aragon, one of the kingdoms which eventually formed the core of modern Spain.

Check out this beautiful 4k drone video of a giant reservoir in eastern Spain, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot eminorcks.  It's called the Contreras Reservoir, and it's located on the western edge of the province of Valencia, due west of the province's namesake capital city.  Located near the confluence of the Cabriel and Guadazaón Rivers, the project was completed in the early 1970's.  It was designed to supply hydroelectricity for the regions as well as drinking water for the city of Valencia.

For a second upload to AirVuz, new contributor Paco Ferrando brings us this excellent drone video from the mountains of eastern Spain.  The Penya Migjorn is located in the interior of Alicante, the southernmost of the three provinces which make up the Valencian Community.  It is situated less than an hour's drive due north of the province's eponymous capital city, and a somewhat longer distance due west of the town of Benidorm, on the Costa Blanca.  The mountain has a peak elevation of about 1.2k meters above sea level or around 4k ft.

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Oswaldo.rubio brings us this excellent drone video from Spain's Mediterranean coasline.  The video was shot over and around the towns of Benicarlo and Peñiscola.  Both lie in the province of Province of Castellón, the northernmost of the three provinces which comprise the Valencian Community region.  The two towns lie roughly halfway between the provincial capital of Castellón de la Plana to the south and the city of Taragona (which is part of the region of Catalonia) to the north.

AirVuz contributor Oswaldo.rubio brings us this excellent drone video from Spain's La Murta Valley, a mountainous area in the Valencia region.  You'll see some excellent shots of the Sierra de Corbera, a series of rocky ridges above the town of Alzira, about a 45 minute drive south (and a bit inland) from the region's namesake capital city.  Starting at about the 1:42 mark, there's a dramatic flyover of the Monastery of la Murta, one of the most well-known sites in the area, which dates to the early 15th century.

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Valenzino brings us this excellent drone video of a beautiful mountain ravine in eastern Spain.  It's called the Correras de Otonel, and it's located on a small tributary of the Jucar River in the province of Valencia.  A series of continuous waterfalls run through the ravine, with a cumulative drop of about 60 meters or around 200 ft.  The spot is not easy to reach; it is best accessible by a winding road from the nearby town of Otonel.

AirVuz contributor and pilot gasendi used a Fimi X8 SE drone to create this beautiful drone video from a town in eastern spain called Guadalest.  It's located in the mountains of the Marina Baixa comarca of Alicante, the southernmost of the three provinces which comprise the semi-autonomous Valencian Community.  While the town lies only a short distance from the Mediterranean Sea, the mountains here (some of which reach up to 1.5k meters above sea level or about 5k ft.) run nearly right up to the coastline.

In this drone video by AirVuz contributor Michael Visual, you'll get an aerial tour of a modern-era artillery fortification on Spain's Mediterranean coastline.  The site is called Castillitos Battery, and it's located in the city of Cartagena in the Murcia region (between the Valencia region to the north and Andalusia to the south).  The battery was built just before the onset of the Spanish Civil War in the 1930's to protect the entrance to Cartagena Bay, and it saw limited action during the course of the conflict.

AirVuz contributor Oswaldo.rubio brings us this excellent drone video of a medieval town in the mountains of eastern Spain.  Cervera del Maestre is situated in Castellón, the northernmost of the three provinces which comprise the Valencian Community region.  It lies at the southern end of the Cervera Mountains, a small chain which lies just west of the Mediterranean coastline and which reaches altitudes of up to about 2k ft. above sea level (a bit over 600 m).  The town is overlooked by a Moorish castle, which you'll see in the video.

Check out these beautiful drone views from the Valencia Region of eastern Spain, compliments of AirVuz contributor Oswaldo.rubio.  The video was filmed around the town of Buñol, which lies about 25 mi. (around 40 km) west of the port city (and regional capital) of Valencia.  The first part of the video was filmed at the El Turche Cave, which is located on the River Juanes just south of Buñol.  From there, you'll head to the town of Buñol itself, which is surrounded by mountains and which has a population of around 9k permanent residents.

Spain's Relleu Castle (Castillo de Relleu) is a semi-ruined 11th century Moorish (Muslim) castle overlooking a town of the same name in Alicante, the middle of the three province's of the Semi-Autonomous Valencian Community.  Seen here in this drone video by brand-new AirVuz contributor and pilot gasendi, you will get an aerial tour of this historic landmark.  The video was shot with a DJI Mavic Air drone.  The town lies in the middle of a valley, not far from the Mediterranean coastline.

The City of Arts and Sciences is one of the main attractions in the city of Valencia, on Spain's Mediterranean Coast. Designed by a team of famous architects, it opened in 1998.  The original and most prominent building is an IMAX Theater and planetarium designed in the shape of a human eye.  The other buildings cover other branches of arts and sciences, all with an "entertainment" flavor to the education.  You'll get a brief but informative aerial look at the museum in this drone video from ValBurger.

First person view (FPV) pilot L. Modandini earned a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in March, 2021 for this amazing FPV diving video of a skyscraper on the Mediterranean coast of Spain.  It's called the Intempo, and it's a residential tower nearing completion in the city of Benidorm, on the Costa Blanca in the country's Valencia region.  With a very distinctive design, construction on the 47 floor skyscraper began in 2007, only to suffer years of delay following the 2008 financial crisis and succeeding sovereign debt crisis.

For centuries, the hills around the present-day Spanish town of Mazarrón were an important source of a number of base metals as well as silver.  Long abandoned, the legacy of this activity can be seen from above in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor belogaev_art.  The Mines of Mazarrón experienced numerous booms and busts before terminal decline from depletion set in in the early 20th century. The town of Mazarrón is located a few mi./km west of the port of Cartagena in the Murcia region of southeastern Spain.
