Marmara is the northwesternmost of the seven official regions of Turkey, and the only one not lying entirely in Asia. It is centered on the Sea of Marmara, an inland sea which connects the Aegean Sea to the Black Sea. Marmara is the smallest of the country's regions by area but the largest in population. It includes the great metropolis of Istanbul, which is simultaneously one of the great cities of Asia and Europe, as well as Bursa, which is Turkey's fourth largest city. The former seat of the great Ottoman Empire, Marama's cultural scenery includes come of the world's most famous mosques and other important historical sites. Like the Aegean region to its south, Marmara's natural scenery includes numerous marshes and lakes which also serve as large bird sancturaries. Here is a collection of the best drone videos from this area which figuratively and literally bridges Asia and Europe.
