One of several megaprojects commissioned by the Turkish government as a show of strength, the Çamlıca Republic Mosque in Istanbul is a sight to behold. It's generally accepted that the Turkish government accomplished its mission when the mosque was finished in 2016. Located in one of the most romantic cities in the world, Istanbul, the mosque was designed by two female architects and cost around $65.5 million USD. It is the largest mosque in Turkey, home to one of the world's largest Muslim populations.
