The easternmost official region of Russia is enormous - the Far Eastern Federal District includes eleven (11) federal subjects (provinces) which collectively cover nearly 7.0 million square km or around 2.7 million square mi. - 50% more than the Siberian Federal Disrict to its west, which is inhabited by roughly twice as many people as the 8 million+ who call the Far Eastern region home. The Russian Far East includes endless swathes of taiga forests, the volcanoes of the Kamchatka Peninsula, and some of Russia's most important warm-water seaports. Here is a collection of drone videos from across this vast region of Northeast Asia, one of the least densely populated on earth.
