Red Bull Athlete Tyler Bereman is one of the world's top practitioners of the art of freestyle motocross - FMX, for short.  And who better to film this legendary rider performing his aerial tricks than JohnnyFPV - one of the world's top FPV drone pilots.  Check out the action in this short but spectacular piece created in partnership with Red Bull Media House and DJI.  Notice how close the quad is able to get to the action! This incredible film won the Extreme Sports category at the 6th Annual NYCDFF in 2020. 

This first person view (FPV) tracking video of professional biker Irek Rizaev is absolutely incredible. Drone Video Awards Winner Tomz FPV flew his mini quad behind the BMX biker through the Kazan Kremlin for Red Bull Russia. Red Bull build ramps around the historic center (which was built by Ivan the Terrible and which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site), where we’ll find the talented Irek Rizaev performing trick after impressive trick. This video was nominated for the Extreme Sports Category at the 6th Annual NYCDFF.

Given their high speeds, rally raids, or cross-county rallies, are perfect for first person view (FPV) drone filming.  In this outstanding piece by AirVuz contributor Tramunt Media, you'll get to see some of this adrenaline-pumping action at the Baja Qatar race held in the Middle Eastern emirate of Qatar in March of 2022.  The race is part of the 2022 FIM Bajas World Cup, the premiere international rally raid competition.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in April of 2022.  

In this incredible reel, top contributor VerJan FPV he brings us some of the recent highlights of his work, which focuses on action shots in the Southwestern USA.  At about the the :30 mark, you'll see a shot of a highliner improbably balanced on a rope strung between two rock pillars in a Utah canyon, followed by a shot chasing two "cowboys" racing across some grassland.  At :49, you'll see a paraglider sailing through a rock arch.  Particularly noteworthy are the epic wingsuit-chasing shots, which start at the 1:00 mark.  

This piece by new contributor and FPV pilot Patrick Conroy effortlessly combines shots from two very distinctive action sports: speed flying and mountain biking.  Speedflying is an emerging extreme sport which is essentially a "cross" between parachuting and paragliding, in which the rider stays close to the terrain and flies at high speed.  After following the speedflyer, at around the :38 mark the drone peels off and chases a mountain biker through the woods.  This video earned Patrick the FPV Pilot to Watch designation in July, 2021.  

In this memorable first person view (FPV) drone video, top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot JZFPV was able to film an X Games Gold Medalist running the paces on an extreme skateboarding course.  This video was chosen as a winner of the AirVuz Drone Video of the Week Contest, and you will see why once you catch a glimpse of the moving madness found on this awesome mega ramp! This video has been nominated as a Finalist in the Extreme Sports category for the second annual Drone Video Awards. 

Action-sports and first person view (FPV) drones are a match made in heaven; in many cases, these agile mini-quads represent the best possible way to capture the action and drama that's so much a part of many extreme sports.  This outstanding FPV reel by AirVuz contributor DAFT fpv speaks volumes about the ways in which talented FPV pilots are using their drones to film a whole range of fast-paced activities.  Filled with shots of skiing, slalom canoing, wakeboarding this reel made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in June of 2020.

Action sports and first person view (FPV) drones is one of the best combinations that this industry has to offer! In this edit by top drone racer and FPV freestyle pilot JohnnyFPV, watch as he follows some of the world's best freestyle skiers at the Audi Nines competition at the Sölden ski resort in Tyrol, Austria.  This amazing FPV film was nominated for the AirVuz Drone Video of the Week Contest in the Spring of 2018 and was our Winner in the Extreme Sports category for the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards.

Prepare to be blown away by this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video of some VERY talented moto-cross stuntriders.  Top FPV pilot Gespar used his FPV mini-quad to film the action at the Mayhem May, 2017 event.  Showing the power of FPV quads to track even the fastest-moving of action sports, he gets up close and personal with these riders as they catch air, flip, and perform other death-defying tricks.  This video was selected as a Finalist at the first Annual Drone Video Awards in the Freestyle FPV category.

Top pilot Vasiliz created this insanely good submission to be a drone pilot at the Audi Nines event in Austria, and we're quite happy to see it here on AirVuz too! The video will show you how dynamic FPV videos (essentially, chasing a "moving target") can also be highly cinematic.  Chasing skiiers and snowboarders performing stunning tricks with a racing drone is not easy, and generating footage as cinematic as you'll see here even less so.  It made for an easy decision to put this one on the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in March, 2020.

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot VerJan FPV put together this epic reel of his aerial highlights from 2020.  Check it out and you'll see why this talented content creator is getting opportunities to film some of the most epic action sports scenes captured via FPV.  You'll see some jaw-dropping footage of BASE jumping, cliff-diving, wingsuits, as well as some great car chasing footage.  For all of these reasons, this was an easy pick for the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in September, 2020.  

First person view (FPV) pilot and B.A.S.E. jumper VerJan FPV has created quite the compilation in this Dynamic FPV piece. He’s put together some of his favorite clips of B.A.S.E. jumpers as they barrel over canyons, down mountainsides, and off bridges over rushing rivers. His ability to track the jumpers as they slowly parachute to the ground is second to none.  This video earned him a nomination at the first Boston Drone Film Festival, as well as a spot on our AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in December of 2019. 

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot RussellFPV did a phenomenal job putting together this video of some longboarders riding down a mountain in South Korea.  The video opens with a cinematic shot showing the route these very skilled longboarders will be taking, then it cuts to the action.  It's a great example of an action sport which has been transformed with the advent of FPV footage - you couldn't film these guys any other way.  It earned our contributor a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in June, 2019.

We don't even know what to call the extreme sport depicted in this first person view (FPV) video by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot TomzFPV.  Maybe kite-skiing?  It just looks dangerous and wickedly fun, and the only way to film it is the way he did - with an FPV racing drone.   Watch him chase this very brave skier down a mountain, as his subject alternates between "regular" back-country skiing and literally flying down the slope.  We had a hard time deciding whether to be impressed more by skills of the skier or the quad pilot!   

Top contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot BOMBA_FPV brings us this outstanding 2022 FPV action sports showreel.  Starting at the :19 mark, there's an epic chase sequence following a paraglider-snowboarder making his way down a ski slope, followed by a run following some downhill skateboarders.  At the :58, you'll follow a wingsuit-equipped flyer jumping off of a cliff, and at 1:45 you'll see a mountain biker make a series of very impressive jumps.  Other highlights include foilboarders at 2:08 and snow-kayaks at 2:30.    

Kiteboarding is the action sport that combines aspects of snowboarding, windsurfing, paragliding, skateboarding, wake boarding, and sailing all into one very extreme sport. The kiteboarder harnesses the power of the wind with a power kite to propel themselves across water, land or snow. JohnnyFPV captured two kiteboarders making their way across the water, then sauces it up with some fancy, tight tree proximity flying and skyscraper diving in this aptly-titled flight. This was an easy pick for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2019.

With the rugged yet scenic Black Hills of South Dakota serving as a backdrop, Airblastr's stunning capture of a brave individual working his way across a 250 foot slackline is a sight to behold (but of course even better when seen up close and personal, via's Airblastr's FPV drone).  This amazing and highly cinematic  FPV video was a finalist for the AirVuz Drone Video of the Week Contest and is definitely worth a view...unless you're ready to hook up to a slackline yourself.

Join FPV master airblastr while he races through the woods chasing a professional mountain biker! The lines and cinematic shots he's able to capture are one of a kind, as they were taken at a super-high speed that's only possible with a nimble, yet lightning-fast racing drone. This cruise through the woodland track around the biker will blow your mind (and perhaps push your heart rate up a few clicks as well). This video is a 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards' FPV Freestyle Technical nominee.

Aaron Gwin is a professional downhill mountain biker from Morongo Valley, California, USA. The 31-year-old is a five-time UCI Downhill World Cup Champion and an eight-time USAC Downhill National Champion. Professional pilot and AirVuz FPV Drone Video of the Year Winner JohnnyFPV recently had the chance to work with Gwin as both pros did what they do best - Gwin shredding down the mountain on his bike, JohnnyFPV focusing in and grabbing epic footage of his subject.  This made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in May, 2019.

This excellent first person view (FPV) video by MLT dronepilots features some of the best FPV footage of paragliders we've seen.  Watch how he chases three paragliders into the sunset.  In each case, he is able to "thread the needle" and fly between the two suspending ropes.  It's a great extra touch for the video, demonstrating some very impressive FPV piloting skills.  Highly cinematic and a joy to watch, this video was picked for the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in mid-July of 2021.  

El Dorado Freeride Junior Ski & Snowboard is the only freeride competition in the Pyrenees (the mountains which separate France and Spain) for 14 to 18-year-olds. Having been around for two decades, it is a big part of the Freeride World Tour circuit. Who better to film these talented athletes than top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot vasiliz?  See for yourself how this Drone Video Awards Finalist uses his camera-equipped FPV racing quad to create a truly memorable video.

"Parkour: a training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Practitioners aim to get from one point to another in a complex environment without assistive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible." The definition of parkour is so similar to what defines FPV drone flying it only makes sense that an accomplished drone pilot like SFPV would combine the two in this video. Appreciate the similarities and see why this video earned SFPV a Pilots to Watch nod.

This highlight reel of first person view (FPV) drone footage mixes two exciting elements: FPV chasing and hard-core action sports. Brought to us by top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Menga FPV, the video represents a perfect match between a very skilled FPV pilot and equally skilled snowboarders, longboarders, skiers, and mountain bikers practicing their crafts in epic locations.  For its many merits, this extraordinary video was picked for the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2018. 

Really good long-range flying is not as easy as these guys make it look and we're not just talking on the sticks. Oftentimes there are mile-long hikes through the elements involved in order to get the best, most cinematic shots. Hikes like the one JZFPV says he took to create this piece. He says "Utah never disappoints," we say neither does JZFPV. Speed, flow, accuracy, and perfect shot-framing make this flight and edit one for the books. This was an FPV Pilot to Watch video in January of 2019.

The longboard is similar to the skateboard, but longer and faster due to its wheel size, construction materials, and hardware. Longboard dancing is a style of riding, where the rider moves with the board in a fluid, artistic fashion. Professional longboarder and founder of the international longboard movement, DockSession, Lotfi Lamaali is a legend in the sport.  Top FPV pilot Fincky used a "cinewhoop"micro FPV drone to film this talented athlete, earning himself a nomination in the X-Factor category at the 6th Annual NYCDFF.

Prepare to be blown away by this stunning first person view (FPV) drone video of a very brave highline walker in Italy's Dolomite Mountains.  Top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot b1z1o_fpv filmed slackliner Marco Milanese as he walked a line of over 300 ft. (about 100 m) strung between two ridges of the Bus de Tofana, which is part of the famous Cortina d'Ampezzo ski area in Belluno, one of the provinces of the region of Veneto.  The FPV footage from his 5" quad was supplemented with stabilized shots from a DJI Air 2.  

Matching up some fearless wingsuiting with a highly skilled drone pilot sounds like an epic way to spend the day in our book. Check out the fantastic perspective gained when professional wingsuit pilot Joe Lohmuller was chased down the cliff by the very talented drone pilot VerJanFPV. His undeniably fast quadcopter kept some pretty sweet lines as it raced after the Lohmiller, and of course, the GoPro caught all of those important angles (and sounds like kudos go to WestPsydeFPV for some help on the editing). 

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot VerJan FPV clearly knows how to rock a GoPro...so much so that last year, he was one of the winners of the GoPro Hero 7 Black Million Dollar Challenge!  In this video, he went after it again with the next=generation GoPro Hero 8 Black strapped to his racing drone, and he chased after the some adrenaline junkies and their B.A.S.E. jumping antics in the canyons of Utah.  For this incredible piece, we reserved a spot for him on our FPV Pilots to Watch list in February, 2020.

This 80-second first person view (FPV) drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot WG FPV earned him a spot on the AirVuz FPV Pilot to Watch in January, 2019. Flying low behind snowboarders launching off jumps, up and around the rails and through the trees it's a quick edit that makes a cold, snowy winter look a little less daunting and a lot more fun. His tracking work, mixed with the effortless tricks thrown in throughout the chase, will definitely inspire any FPV pilot watching. 

One of the great uses of first person view (FPV) drones is to film fast-moving action sports.  When flown by skilled pilots, these FPV-equipped racing quads can keep up with just about any non-motorized subjects and most motorized "targets" as well.  To see what we mean, check out this amazing FPV video by AndruiFPV, who took his quad out to the Sierra Nevada mountains of southern Spain to film snowboarders and skiers as they shred and top trick after trick. This flight earned AndruiFPV a Pilots to Watch nod in June of 2019.

Adrenaline, anyone?  You'll be needing that, plus coordination, balance, and *dare we say* sheer zaniness (and perhaps extra kneepads?) to skate down these hills at those speeds.  But if you'd rather just watch, FPV drone pilot MEIRELES has certainly got you covered. His racing quad keeps pace as these brave souls cruise down the open roads of Santa Catarina, Brazil, and since he's given us our new favorite 'chase scene,' we've put him on our FPV Pilots to Watch list in January 2020. Modern snowmobiles are FAST. Chasing them with first-person view (FPV) drones is no easy task - both in terms of speed and the difficulty of retrieval when things go wrong.  All the more reason to check out this epic snowmobile adventure by FPV pilot FIncky, who captures crazy things on the thousand-pound machines including popping wheelies, flying high off of jumps, and floating on one side of the machine in a seemingly effortless way.  This video earned our talented content creator a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch List.  

Tomz FPV is making a name for himself in the extreme-sports-by-FPV world. The AirVuz Drone Video Awards winner in the FPV Freestyle Technical category has done some incredible work filming athletes for Red Bull. This video, shot with the production team SUPERSIZE Films, features Nouria Newman, the French slalom canoeist who competed professionally from 2007 to 2015. She’s won gold at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championship and you can see why in this risky trip down the rapids; this video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in June, 2019.

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Kosumi brings us this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video of a desert four-wheel race.  The aerial portions were filmed with a Red Komodo camera mounted to a Cinelifter drone, an extremely expensive setup which is only undertaken by highly experienced FPV pilots.  With its extremely high shutter speeds, the camera is capable of some epic slow-motion shots, as you'll see in the video.  This was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in June of 2024.  

Drift trikes are tricycles that have low-traction rear wheels that are designed to drift by, meaning they intentionally lose traction on the rear wheels. They are usually ridden on paved roads with steep downhill grades, corners, and switchbacks. It sounds funny, grown men and women on tricycles racing down a hill, however once you see it you’ll see it’s anything but easy.  AirVuz FPV pilot BlinKFPV captured this group of riders by mini quad, earning himself a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August, 2019.

The open of this jaw-dropping first person view (FPV) drone video by legendary French FPV pilot Red—fpv will make you feel like you’re the one flying down the hill on skis.  The award-winning content creator does a magnificent job running the mountainside just like the extreme, freestyle skiers he follows later in the piece. There’s tricks, crashes, behind-the-scenes, tree proximity, and more all jam packed into this impressive FPV freestyle ski film by one of the world's top FPV content creators.

You have got to give this amazing Parkour video a watch! Opening with a cruise through an old cement parking garage, FPV pilot Fincky starts sending his quad towards a man standing still. Then, all the magic happens. That man is a French Freerun Family athlete, which are some of the best forerunners in the world. The choreography it must have taken to put this cinematic FPV Pilots to Watch list piece together is remarkable in itself, with a line that captures trick after daring trick.  

A skate park is a recreational park made specifically for skateboarding, BMX, scooter, wheelchair and inline skating. Most parks won’t even let you hang out at the park without one of those tools for safety concerns. The usually include half-pipes, handrails, pyramids, stair sets, pools, and other object for the riders to grind, jump, etc. You can see a lot of those in this FPV video by GarriSkills who has taken his quad out to the skate park to take in the action.  This video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August, 2019.

Wait until you see the epic footage FPV pilot Arcus captured with his mini quad in this extreme sports adventure edit. He took out his FPV drone to record the latest update by the Flyboard Sport company Zapata. The company says their latest Flyboard gives riders superior control and precise maneuverability. The Flyboard, a hydroflighting device that allows the extreme athlete to propel out of the water, is harder to maneuver than the athlete in this piece shows. He and our FPV pilot make all of this look way too easy. 

Wingsuit flying is an extreme sport which is, for obvious reasons, extremely difficult to film.  It turns out that with a suitably capable pilot, FPV drones are perfect for keeping up with these brave souls as they jump off cliffs and fly down mountains.  Witness this incredible piece by top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot halitic.  Using a 7 inch quad and a long-range FPV setup, he was able to capture some of the most epic winsuit footage we've ever seen, earning himself a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in June, 2021. 

The impressive jumps and stunts witnessed in FMX (Freestyle Motocross) make it a fantastic sport for spectators, but we all know the best way to take it in is with a drone like GLDCreative's racing quad. In this killer edit, he chases the ride around X Games medalists Taka Hagashino and Jerryd McNeil.  These are two of the best in the world at their trade, and they participated in the X Games in Minneapolis (also home to AirVuz HQ) in 2019. For all of this and more, GLDCreative was added to our Pilots to Watch list in January, 2020!

This is like a scene straight out of a Mission Impossible film. Running at a full-out sprint on the roof of a building then jumping, flipping, rolling and diving his way down - the parkour athlete featured in this video is impressive to say the least. The FPV pilot following him is just as incredible. Dirty Seagulls continues to impress with this short free-running-by-drone video. Stick around until the end where you’ll find a fun, unanticipated twist.  This video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in May, 2019.

This is one down and dirty video. Literally, everything, including the camera on the drone, is getting blasted with dirt thanks for the biker ripping things up out in the sand and mud. AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot Airburner brings us this freestyle FPV motocross tracking video with his DJI FPV setup and GoPro 6. It’s a fun, quick session that definitely gives novice FPV viewers a great look at the extreme action sport, and it earned our contributor a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2019.

Mini quad pilot VerJan FPV has built himself a reputation as a solid B.A.S.E. by F.P.V. pilot. Both acronyms stand for activities that not everyone has the “goods” for: FPV with its finger dexterity, and B.A.S.E. because most people would never jump off a cliff and *hope* they can fly. This vid features jumpers skateboarding off the mountains before parachuting to the ground. VerJan FPV admits he has a special appreciation for people performing these stunts and loves to film them in action!

Looking for a front row seat to a heart-stopping feat?  Watch this wild FPV video of Base Jumping in the heart of Moscow from a highrise project still under construction.  FPV pilot craig_dt was up to the challenge and provided a crispy clear vantage point of the whole dive. These guys make poppin’ wheelies look as easy as riding a bike and we’re not talking about the kind of bikes featured in this exciting first person view (FPV) drone video by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Banner_Drones. The motorcycle riders in this video are stunt artists, not only driving on a solo wheel for long stretches but repositioning their legs and stance as they go. It is pretty intense, made all the more so by the tight tracking Banner_Drones is doing with his mini quad.

The towncenter of Kremnica, Slovakia transformed into a big action arena ready for the likes of some pretty trick snowboarders and freestyle skiers.  This popular event in early February 2020 was the perfect space for AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot snail.fpv to capture some epic shots. Watch as he mixes cruises down the ski jump with the athletes and shows off his maneuverability and control, giving us plenty of reason to name him as an FPV Pilots to Watch in February 2020.

Dig that slow-motion, up-close-and-personal style of FPV flying? Pilot prisvanrees will bring it to you in this FPV drone by mountain bike tracking video. He’ll set the scene by showing off the tricked-out Red Bull trucks parked around the event, then get right into the of things, following riders as they take to the dirt mounds and fly high off the course jumps. The slow-motion effect he’ll add in post-production brings the whole flight just one level higher, earning himself a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in May of 2019.

It is time to get down and dirty. We’re almost surprised to see that AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot S.KWAD’s drone survived all the rocks, dirt, and debris that was flung at it while he tracked four-wheelers on this recent rip. Once you find out that he spent five months creating a drone specifically for this type of work, however, you’re not as surprised, just impressed. It’s an excellent FPV experience behind the off-road club that is definitely worth the watch.

Paragliding is definitely not for the faint of heart; mishaps that occur when soaring hundreds of feet in the air can easily be fatal.  For those not sufficiently deterred, there's "synchro" paragliding, where two paragliders join up and ride back to earth together.  And what better way to film this extreme of extreme sports than with a first persopn view (FPV) mini drone?  Top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Ivan Merino shows us the way in this incredible piece, filming a pair of VERY brave synchro paragliders high above the earth.

Top AIrVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot VerJan FPV has developed a specialty of using his FPV quads to film epic action sports scenes.  In this incredible reel, he brings us some of the highlights of his work over the course of 2021.  Filmed largely in the spectacular landscapes of western Utah, the video expertly captures the thrilled of BASE jumping, paragliding, mountain biking, and other alpine-related activities.  It was an easy pick for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in early January of 2022.  

Have you ever wondered how people get so good at kiteboarding? The sport is typically practiced on the water where the athlete is standing on a short surfboard and being propelled around by a massive kite. In this first person view video by AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot littlewing fpv we’ll get a look at what practicing for the sport on land is like. He’s following a friend as he surfs behind a kite in the wide-open fields. Instead of a surfboard, the rider is flowing on a skateboard. 

Time to talk some chutes and ladders. No, not the old school board game, the kind you can only do with an epic location and some real-life adventurers. AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot VerJan FPV got the unique opportunity to fly his quad around people literally flying through the air. How? By jumping off the rocky cliffs and paragliding through the gorges. It had to have been a heart pumping adventure for both pilot and thrill seeker alike. Check it out for yourself in this 4K, cinematic edit.

The 68-mile-long Beartooth Highway is a National Scenic Byways All-American road that winds its way through southwest Montana and Wyoming. Drone pilot and cinematographer, airblastr, captures long boarder Zach Bailey as he “sends it” down the Beartooth Pass. The landscape around him is so gorgeous, you almost forget the risk the long boarder is putting himself through. However, every time airblastr tracks in hard on the athlete, you’re reminded just how fast he’s flying down the mountainside. 

The extreme adventure that is highlining consists of walking along a suspended line of flat webbing that is tensioned between two anchors. As you can see in this mini-quad drone video by AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot VerJan FPV, it is not easy to do and is made all the more challenging when highliners tie the rope across a canyon. This was our pilot’s first attempt at filming the activity and let us tell you, the shots around 3:30 will give you all the feels.

Paramotoring has always been considered an "extreme" sports, but what you'll see in this first person view (FPV) piece by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot fpvfimz takes it to an entirely new level.  We're not even sure if it has a name other than the obvious one: acrobatic paramotoring.  Watch as this brave paramotor operator foot-launches himself and then undertakes some VERY impressive aerial tricks.  Recognizing that FPV filming of these feats is no mean task, we awarded fpvfilmz a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in December, 2020.

Longboarding is an action sport which is made for drones.  Specifically, first person view (FPV) drones, which have the speed and maneuverability to keep up with longboarders capable of reaching speeds of 100 km/hr (60 mph) or more.  To see what we're talking about, check out this amazing video by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot nikofilmz.  He was able to use a racing quad to film a group of longboarders coming full-barrel down a hill in Colorado in the USA's Rocky Mountains region.

Skiing in July?  Yes, it can be done, as shown in this excellent first person view (FPV) drone video of a well-known back-country skier by top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot coolguy.fpv.  He was able to film skier Giray Dadali tackling a thin strip of snow in the Rocky Mountains during the height of the summer, when simply finding skiable slopes is a challenge.  Watch how this talented skier uses every last square inch of available snow.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August of 2022.  

Hit the slopes with AirVuz contributor and pilot flumz fpv in this fantastic compilation reel of FPV footage of alpine action sports.  Watch it and you'll see why FPV mini-quads are making such big inroads into the filming of high-octane alpine activities that can't be easily filmed with gimbal-stabilized aerial videography platforms like the DJI Mavic series.  The video features footage of a wide range of "mountain sports", including snowmobiling, snowbiking, backcountry skiing, ATV's, mountain biking, motocross, and more.

Top AirVuz contributor Red-FPV is one of the top first person view (FPV) drone pilots in France.  His specialty is using racing drones to film epic scenes, particularly action sports.  In this video he tackles the sport of speed-paragliding.  That is, using a paraglider modified for speed and flying while wearing skis.  You have to see it to believe it, and those who know anything about FPV will appreciate how insanely difficult it is to keep a racing drone camera focused on this type of moving target.

Using a TBS 7" Source One first person view (FPV) racing drone, AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Matt Dahlberg created this spectacular action video of some kiteboarders off the coast of Florida.  Given the speed of this emerging extreme sport, FPV drones allow skilled pilots to film kiteboarders from an "up close and personal" perspective.  The speed and maneuverability of these quads make a perfect match for the kiteboarders; this video was an easy selection for the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in May, 2020.

Filming paragliders and hang gliders by drone is a tricky business, and of course safety of the human flier is paramount.  Given the limitations of gimbal-stabilized aerial videography platforms, first person view (FPV) quads have emerged as the tool of choice to capture these adrenaline-filled action sports.  In this video by AirVuz contributor fpvfilmz, you'll see what skillfully piloted FPV drones can do to capture the essence of paragliding and hang gliding.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in September, 2020.  

Check out this VERY clever use of cinewhoop-style first person view (FPV) mini-drones, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Sekile.  He used his Reptile cinewhoop drone to film an epic game of paintball, a sport which is notoriously difficult to capture on video.  Watch how the drone lets him keep up with the action, taking full advantage of the fact that the drone can be flow indoors or outdoors as well as around people.  For his effort, this video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August of 2020.

Check out this VERY creative one-shot first person view (FPV) drone video by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot wanderlustfpv_906.  The video captures a series of highline artists suspended on a rope above the shores of a frozen Lake Michigan.  Watch how the single-shot view captures the surroundings and periodically returns to the highline to see a different person in a different pose each pass.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in May of 2022.  The camera used was a GoPro Hero 9.  

First person view (FPV) drone footage is increasingly being incorporated into TV commercials, as leading brands around the world hire top FPV pilots to harness the capabilities of mini-quads to create unique visual perspectives.  Not surprisingly, top AirVuz contributor and legendary FPV pilot JohnnyFPV is at the forefront of this trend.  In this piece, you'll see him chasing top skateboarder Nyjah Huston through the streets of LA for Nike's emerging skateboard category.  This video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July, 2020.  

Pilot Flylifeco is back in his element, the mountains of Colorado, to fly alongside a professional skier in this extreme-sports-by-FPV video. He’s tracking half-pipe skier Alex Ferreira, who won the gold medal in Men’s Ski Superpipe at the 2019 Winter X Games. The 25-year-old looks solid from the eye’s of Flylifeco’s mini quad, capturing a variety of tricks from above, alongside, and behind the athlete. This video earned Flylifeco a spot on our AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in December of 2019.  

The area around Moab in eastern Utah is home to some of the USA's most impressive canyons and rock formations.  It's a dream for extreme sports enthusiasts like B.A.S.E. jumpers as well as for first person view (FPV) racing drone pilots.   In this video, top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot shows us what a member of the latter group can do filming members of the former.  Using his racing quad to aerially film some very brave B.A.S.E. jumpers in legendary Moab, he earned himself a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2019.  

Increasingly, Miami is vying with Las Vegas for being the unofficial Fun Capital of the USA.  As evidence, check out this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone view from the heart of Florida's Gold Coast by AirVuz contributor and pilot Banner_Drones.  The reel features epic FPV footage that runs the gamut of the activities on offer in sunny southern Florida, ranging from yacht parties to flyboarding to luxury highrise condo-diving.  This video earned Banner_Drones a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August, 2020.  

Flying a powered paraglider is an extreme sport by any definition.   And like most extreme sports, it can best be captured by first person view (FPV) drones, which have (when capably piloted) the speed and maneuverability to keep up with even the fastest powered paragliders.  To see what we mean, check out this fantastic piece by top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Ivan Merino, who was able to film a powered paraglider tackling a water course.  This video made the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2020.   

Filming freestyle motocross (FMX) riders with a first person view (FPV) drone is all about getting up close to see the in-air stunts that these talented riders perform.  And it's tough to get much closer than top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot craig_dt does in this epic video.  Filmed at an FMX course in Russia, he will give you a perspective on this exciting sport that is second to none.  For his efforts, our talented content creator was again awarded a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list, this time at the end of August, 2020.

Wow, what a way to watch some extreme, backcountry snowboarding! AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot vasiliz takes us out to the supremely fresh powder of the backcountry mountain tops at Spain's Baqueira Beret resort in the Pyrenees. Oftentimes, professional snowboarders will be brought in via helicopter since these locations are only accessible by air. To film this level of snowboarding was formerly only accessible for companies with the funds to do so.  This video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in September, 2019.

If you've ever witnessed a Nitro Circus event, you know those guys DO NOT hold back, and it turns out, neither does FPV pilot Ruben Caser.  He showed interest in pairing their fearless stunts with his finely tuned flying, and the final product - this video - shows the reward for their collaboration. Watch as BMX daredevils Kurtis Downs, Ryan Williams and Dusty Wygle get chased by those boss freestyle moves, proving that Ruben Caser is a real force in the AirVuz FPV community.

Top contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot nikofilmz is a master at the difficult art of dynamic FPV - chasing moving "subjects".  It's one of the toughest styles of FPV flight, and it requires a kind of "sixth sense" on the part of the pilot to anticipate where the "target" is moving so as to be able to keep it in frame.  In this excellent piece, he uses a "cinewhoop" style micro-drone to track a very adept BMX rider tackling a challenging course, and with a single shot.  This video was featured on the AirVuz social media pages.  

All-terrain vehicles - ATV's - are capable of extraordinary feats of maneuvering in almost any kind of environment.   However, it's not easy to film these vehicles in a way that does justice to their ruggedness and the skill of their drivers.  That's where first person view (FPV) drones come in - with their speed and agility, skilled FPV pilots are able to film ATV's in a way that can't be matched.  Witness this excellent piece by NonexistentJay, which was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2020.  

Top AirVuz contributor ShaggyFPV is one of the world's top first person view (FPV) drone pilots.  When he's not racing for the Drone Racing League, the Dutch drone pilot is invited to travel all over the world seeking epic FPV footage for sponsors.  In this amazing video, you'll see his work at the Audi Nines mountain biking event at Bike Park Idarkopf in the mountains of southwestern Germany.  Filming some of the top MTB riders in the world, ShaggyFPV earned himself another spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2020.  

Stand-up jetskis are capable of pulling off amazing aerial feats; skilled riders are able to use their high-horsepower propulsion systems to put their personal watercraft into almost any orientation.  The difficulty of filming this action has created an opportunity for first-person view (FPV) drones, which are cable to getting up-close and personal with these talented athletes.  Alex Pulvidente was able to capture some jetski action on Long Island, New York, earning himself a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2020.  

The Cappadocia area of central Turkey is famous for its unique "fairy tale" rock formations, as well as the hot air ballooning scene which allows travelers to the area to see these unique structures from above.  Naturally enough, the prpspect of flying amongst the balloons in turn has attracted first person view (FPV) done pilots to film the balloons and the landscapes below from a new perspective.  Witness this fantastic video by top contibutor and FPV pilot Ivan Merino, who earned a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in this video.  

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot dronujemy_com brings us this excellent FPV video of a mud run and obstacle course race in Poland.  The "Runmageddon" event is held at multiple times throughout the year at the Modlin Fortress in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, about 30 mi. (around 50 km) north of Warsaw.  Constructed by the French in the early 1800's during the Napoleonic Wars, it's one of the country's largest 19th century fortifications.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in May of 2024.  

We’ve seen plenty of motorcycle racing, drag racing, and Indy Car racing videos by first person view (FPV) drone, but we can’t say we’ve seen anything like this. Sidecar racing, where there is a driver and a sidecar that holds an additional passenger who helps navigate the terrain by using their body weight. Mini quad pilot BlinKFPV captured a Cross Championship Race, featuring side-car racing in this incredibly cool 4K FPV video. This edit and flight earned him a FPV Pilots to Watch nod in May 2019.

The high definition footage, stunning location, and excellent framing make this a BMX by first person view (FPV) video to remember. Brought to us by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot motionpilot, we’ll trail a biker as he takes on some of the most famous mountains in the world, the Swiss Alps. Enjoy the close up, mode setting shots before taking the ride down the mountain.  Well-shot and -edited, this video was an easy choice to place on the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in November of 2019.  

Check out this highly cinematic drone video of a San Francisco skatepark by new AirVuz contributor elstrevedore.  The video opens and closes with some great aerial views of the surrounding city shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 2, but the heart of the video is epic action footage shot with a GoPro Hero 6 mounted to a Shendrones Squirt "cinewhoop" drone flown via first person view (FPV).  The FPV footage shows the power of these small ducted propeller drones to capture action footage that can't be filmed with "conventional" drones.  

Flylifeco has made quite a name for himself in the Colorado FPV crowd. His mountain, bridge, snow-covered peaks and other locations are almost trade secrets at this point due to how much recognition he deservedly gets over his cinematic pieces. This time around he’s following a mountain biker as he shreds down the rocky cliff alongside “oceans of Aspens.” It’s a great tracking piece with plenty of ghost branches to avoid along the way; no surprise, this video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August, 2019.

The opening shots in this piece are probably some of the most insane paragliding moments we’ve ever seen via drone. The paragliders are flying down a small crevice in the mountains, gliding themselves seemingly easily through the tight gaps then out into the wide open spaces. The Norwegian mountain setting that the gap opens to is absolutely incredible. The content creator behind this epic piece is VerJan FPV, who earned himself a spot on the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in July of 2019.

See how first person view (FPV) drones are allowing us to visually experience action sports events in entirely new ways with this FPV action reel from AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Lukasz Lewenda.  Filmed in Poland, the video opens with an epic shot descending on some very talented roller-skiers making their way around a course.  Other shots will take you into a forest to follow some cross-country runners.  This video was picked by the AirVuz editorial staff for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in September, 2022.    

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot FrankyMoiss used a first person view (FPV) drone to track one of the world's top snowboarders working a  halfpipe course in the French Alps.  Liam Tourki, aged 23 (as of the Spring of 2022) competed on the French halfpipe team at the 2022 Winter Olympics held in Beijing, China.  Prior to that, he finished in the top 20 in the halfpipe World Championships in both 2019 and 2021.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in Apil of 2022.    

Top contributor VerJan FPV has developed a specialty of using his first person view (FPV) quads to film epic action sports scenes.  In this incredible reel, he brings us some of the recent highlights of his work.  In the first action scene, you'll fly past a highliner improbably balanced on a rope strung between two rock pillars in a Utah canyon, and at the :32 mark, you'll chase some very brave bungee and BASE jumpers.  Without doubt though the most incredible footage involves one of the most exotic of action sports: wingsuit flying!
