Top contributor and drone pilot Alta Movie srl brings us this breathtaking DVOW nominated film from the great city of Rome, Italy.  The video opens with shots of the Victor Emmanuel II Monument on the Piazza Venezia, before cutting over to the opposite side of the Tiber River for shots of St. Peter's Basilica and Square in Vatican City.    Starting at the :34 mark, there's a nice shot of the Castel Sant'Angelo; following which you'll be taken to the southeast to see the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, and the ruins of the Forum.  

Take an aerial tour of Spain with a DJI Mavic Air drone in this DVOW nominated video by AirVuz contributor and pilot ViDeo Creator jP.  The video opens with an epic shot of the Plaza de España in the great Andalusian (southern) city of Seville.  Next up is the hilltop fortress Alcázar of Toledo, followed by the famous windmills of Consuegra.  Other featured locations include the Puente Nuevo bridge in the great southern city of Ronda, the "white city" of Zahara de la Sierra in the province of Cádiz, the Toledo Cathedral, and more.

Check out this amazing aerial tour of Florence, Italy by top AirVūz contributor Alta Movie srl.  The video opens with an excellent shot of the Ponte Vecchio, one of the world's most famous bridges, which crosses the Arno River in the heart of the Tuscan capital.  From there you'll fly past the great tower of the Palazzo Vecchio, followed by the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the adjacent Giotto's Bell Tower, concluding with some night shots of the city. This video was picked as the Drone Video of the Week in October 2020.
 

Check out these stunning DVOW nominated film of Italy's Amalfi Coast, compliments of top AirVuz contributor and pilot CG Films.  The coastline consists of a series of towns on the southern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula in Sorrento, one of the provinces of the southern Campania region.   The westernmost of these towns is Positano, while the easternmost of the chain is called Vietri sul Mare and is just west of Salerno at the base of the peninsula.  Since 1997, the towns of the Amalfi Coast have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  

Contributor and drone pilot Hubert Zielenski created this unforgettable aerial tour of Portugal.  Situated in the southwestern corner of Europe, Portugal was once known as the Edge of the World, and then went on to launch the great Age of Exploration.  His video includes stunning bird's eye footage of Sintra, the capital city of Lisbon, the northern city of Porto, and the southern region of Algarve.  Shot with a DJI Mavic Air drone, this video was a winner of the AirVuz Drone Video of the Week Contest in June, 2018. 

Take an aerial tour of Italy in this fantastic DVOW nominated piece by @DronDuilio.  The video opens with an excellent shot of the famous Ponte Vecchio Bridge over the River Arno in Florence, followed by a view of the St. Mark's Basilica in Venice.  At the :20 mark, you'll see the magnificent Castle Maniaci in Syracuse on the island of Sicily, and at :28 a great shot of the iconic Amalfi Coast.  Other highlights include the ancient town of Matera (:40), the striped tower and Duomo of Siena (:53), Rome's Victor Emmanuel II Monument (1:30), and more.

Top AirVuz contributor ArturCarvalho brings us this excellent DVOW nominated film of Lisbon as the Portuguese capital city dresses itself up for Christmas.  The video opens with a shot of the Rua Augusta Arch on Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), followed by a great shot of the Christmas tree in the square itself.  Starting at the :49 mark, there's some great shots of the King Pedro IV Square (the Rossio), the Queen Maria II Theatre at its north end, and a grand finale at the Monument to the Restorers on Restauradores Square.

Top AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Ericbartolo brings us this DVOW nominated collage of Portugal's two principal cities: Lisbon and Porto.  The video opens with footage from the northern city of Porto, with some spectacular shots of the Dom Luis I Bridge over the Douro River, the historic old town, and the city's Atlantic coastline.  Shifting to the national capital, you'll be treated to some epic views of the 25 de Abril and Vasco de Gama Bridges over the Tagus River, Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square), Belem Tower, and more.

Top contributor Oliver Astrologo created this stunning, DVOW-nominated visual tour of Catalonia, the northeastern region of Spain.  Here are some of the locations featured: Barcelona, Blanes, Cadaqués, Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery, Besalú, Sant Pau, Fageda, Sant Martí del Corb, Vall de Núria, Pedraforca, Sant Llorenç de Morunys, Congost de Mont-Rebei, Montsec and Àger, Seu Vella in Lleida, Terres de l’Ebre, Siurana, Tarragona city, Montserrat, La Foradada, and more.

Andorra is one of the least well known countries in Europe.  Technically known as the Principality of Andorra, the tiny nation sits in the heart of the Pyrenees, the mountain chain which forms the natural border between Spain and France.  Andorra has a land area covering less than 500 square km (about 180 square miles), making it smaller than many cities.  As you'll see in this drone video from contributor and pilot Karl Veca, what Andorra lacks in size it makes up for in spectacular mountain scenery. 

Andalusia is a historical and official semi-autonomous region of Spain, its  southernmost.  Andalusia was the center of Muslim (Berber) rule in Spain, which began in the 8th century and didn't fully end until the end of the 15th.  Top AirVuz contributor and pilot hamzamuj created this epic aerial tour of the region with a drone, which includes aerial footage of Malaga, Almogia, Granada and Cordoba.  Andalusia has been used extensively as a filming location for HBO's Game of Thrones, notably in Seville and Cordoba.

Eaglewood Films took to the skies along the coast of Portugal to capture its rugged and picturesque landscape in 4K. Once believed to be located on the very edge of the inhabited world, Portugal was one of the first areas of Europe to launch long distance ships, which it then used its to amass one of the world's greatest empires in the 15th and 16th centuries.  This aerial video of the coastline in the Alentejo and Algarve regions will show you why this country has become such a popular destination for tourists and drone pilots alike.  

Here's a magnificent aerial tour of the Greek island of Crete, compliments of PureCreations.pl. The video features some amazing footage from along the coastline of the island, the Mediterranean's fifth largest. In addition to Crete's stunning beaches (including Balos Beach), the video features bird's eye views of some of the island's other hallmarks, such as its hilltop forts and shipwrecks. Other spots featured include the tiny island of Elafonisi, the capital city Heraklion, and more. This video won DVOW in July, 2019.

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner smakozawr brings us this stunning aerial tour of Greece.  The video begins with the city of Athens, featuring a nice shot of the Acropolis at the :13 mark.  At around the :22 mark, you'll see one of the monasteries of Meteora, in the north-central part of the country.  At the :35 mark, you'll see the famous shipwreck Mediterranean Sky in Elefsina, near Athens.  Other featured locations include the Corinth Canal (:48), the Rio–Antirrio Bridge (1:15), the White Tower of Thessaloniki (2:15), and more.

Contributor and drone pilot Marco G. Lerin traveled in a van for three months throughout the great Southern European nation of Spain.  This incredibly inspiring travel film blends the natural beauty of the Iberian Penninsula and adds a human element, woven together with beautifully edited transitions.  The video was nominated as a finalist for the Drone Video of the Week contest, and subsequently was picked as a Finalist in the Originality category for the second annual Drone Video Awards. 

Top contributor Raf_Neo created this spectacular aerial tour of his home country of Cyprus, in the eastern Mediterranean.   If you've wondered what Cyprus looks like, this video is for you.  Treat yourself to epic aerial shots of Lara Beach in Pafos, the famous Erdo III shipwreck of of Peyia, the Limassal marina, Kalavassos Tenda, and the town of Lernaca.  The video ends with some great shots of Ayia Napa, the well known beach resort town on the eastern end of the island, the third largest in the Mediterranean.

Prepare to be astounded by this magnificent drone video of the Italian island of Sicily, compliments of two-time DVA winner Timelab.pro. The video, which mixes footage from a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone with ground footage, features shots of some of the highlights of the largest island in the Mediterranean. Highlights include aerials of the Castle Maniaci and the Greek Theater ruins in the ancient city of Syracuse, and the magnificent Palermo Cathedral in the capital city. This video was a DVOW nominee in August, 2019.

This two-minute aerial tour of Italy will leave you speechless. Shot by pilot Mauro Sciambi, this Drone Video of the Week nominated movie opens with a wide shot of Cinque Terre, the string of historic seaside villages along the Italian Riviera known for their colorful houses and steep terraces. He’ll then move on to the Lombardy region where we’ll see upscale Lake Como. Shots of centuries-old fortresses sprinkled along the Italian Alps, rolling vineyards, and gushing waterfalls finish out the piece. 

The Peloponnese Region is a peninsula in southern Greece, connected to the central part of the country by the Isthmus of Corinth land bridge and since 2004 by the Rio Rio–Antirrio bridge. You can see the gorgeous part of Greece in this aerial film by contributor and drone pilot johannesbloechl, who also visited the Apollo Temple in Corinth and the Poseidon Temple near Athens (both of which are in the Central Greece region). This stunning 4K piece earned him a Done Video of the Week award in August, 2019.

Check out this beautiful DVOW Finalist drone video of Barcelona, Spain, compliments of Mi Girano Forte.  The video opens with some epic footage of the city's Columbus Monument on the La Rambla thoroughfare.  From there you'll see Barcelona Cathedral, the ultra-modern W Barcelona Hotel tower, the spectacular (yet still not finished) Sagrada Familia, the Torre Glòries, the Venetian Towers, the Arc de Triomf over the Passeig de Lluís Companys promenade, the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor, and more.  

Award-winning content creator and drone pilot johannesboechl created this marvelous video record of a trip to the Mediterranean island nation of Malta. The first part of the video was filmed on the island of Gozo, Malta's second-largest island which lies just northwest of the main island. The video has some great shots of the Fortress of Cittadella (the capital of Gozo) as well as the Ramla Bay Beach and the Fungus Rock. You'll also see a bit of Comino, the tiny island which lies between Malta and Gozo. This video won DVOW in December 2019.

Top AirVuz contributor Skyeye_Aerials earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this amazing drone video from the islands of Greece.  The title "Shades of Blue" refers to the color of the waters surrounding the Greek islands, which number in the many hundreds and which are dotted across the eastern Mediterranean Sea.  Beautifully edited, the video will take you over some of Europe's most appealing seaside scenery, replete with hillside villages, hidden cove beaches, massive yachts, and more.  

Take an aerial tour of over two dozen of the most recognized sights of Greece in this outstanding piece by new contributor PawelWorsztynowicz.  Featured locations include the island of Skopelos, the Port of Rhodes, Thirasia Island in the Santorini Caldera, Ypapanti Church on Corfu, the Athens Acropolis, Santorini's Skaros Rock, the Agia Triada Monastery in Meteora, the Lichadonisia islands off the larger island of Euboea, the town of Mlia and the Elafonisi islet of Crete, Karidi Beach in Halkidiki, Marmari Beach on Kos, and more.

Check out this 2019 showreel from Italy by pilot and cinematographer zippomaker. Opening with ground shots of ancient architecture around Rome, he’ll move on to aerial shots of Piazza del Duomo and its Leaning Tower of Pisa. He’ll then focus on a handful of ancient fortresses around Italy before giving us a stunning aerial view of the Pantheon. There are shots of weddings, drift cars, motocross riders, and Florence with its Duomo to round out this reel. This video was a DVOW finalist in December 2019.

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor Jackanda brings us this excellent highlight reel from Italy. The video features beautiful aerial sequences from all over this beautiful and fascinating country, including the Dolomite Mountains in the northern part of the country, hilltop estates in Tuscany, the iconic lighthouse on Giglio Island, and the Amalfi Coast. The highlight though is at the :30 mark, where it looks like a bird went after his drone while flying over the Beseno fortress in the (northern) Trentino province.  

Ravaged by the worldwide Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak, Italy went into a virtual national quarantine in mid-March, 2020. The emergency actions, desperately needed to stem an outbreak claiming hundreds of lives a day, effectively closed one of the world's most beautiful countries to international and even domestic travelers. To help us all remember what awaits when the epidemic recedes, new AirVuz contributor Ale_headshot brings us this wonderful aerial collage of Italy before the epidemic took hold here. This video won DVOW in March 2020.

Get some great aerial views of Central Greece in this terrific reel by contributor Aerial_Greece.  The video opens with a shot of the wreck of the Mediterranean Sky, a combination-passenger liner ship scuttled in Eleusis Bay just north of Athens in 2003.  At the :50 mark, there's a great shot of Arachova, a mountain town in the Boeotia region near Mt. Delphi.  Following some great shots of the Saronic Gulf coastline, at the 1:50 mark you'll get an aerial view of the Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounion.

The island nation of Malta lies close to the center of the Mediterranean Sea, between the Italian island of Sicily and the coast of North Africa.  Top content creator Oliverastrologo created this stunning aerial tour of this beautiful spot, which includes epic shots of the harbor at Valletta, the ancient walled city of Mdina, and at the :40 mark the Azure Window rock formation (which subsequently collapsed); all were used extensively as filming locations in Season 1 of HBO's Game of Thrones.

Take an aerial tour of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus in this phenomenal piece by contributor nikybwd.  Shot over all four seasons, the video features footage of the following locations: the southeastern beach town of Ayia Napa, including its iconic Bridge of Love rock arch; the nearby resort town of Protaras; the famed Blue Lagoon near the island's western tip; Caledonia Waterfalls and the Troodos Mountains near the center of the island; the town of Paphos and the Rock of Aphrodite in southwestern Cyprus; and more.

For a second-upload to AirVuz, new contributor Kukiis brings us this excellent travel video from the southern portion of Europe.  Created with a combination of drone and ground camera footage, the video will take you over areas of Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia.  You'll start in the mountains of northeastern Italy and northwestern Slovenia before heading to the great Italian Renaissance city of Venice.  At about the 3:00 mark, there's a great shot of Croatia's Krka Waterfalls, and at around 5:00 you'll see the ancient Pula Arena.  

In this highly inspiring travel video, contributor Kelly Needleman flies his drone over some of the most spectacular sights in Italy.  The video includes bird's eye views of the Dolomite Mountains in northeastern Italy, the Tuscany region, Venice, and Cinque Terre, among other spots.  The video was a finalist for the AirVuz Drone Video of the Week Contest and also a winner of the Drone Video of the Month Contest for July, 2018.  If you are considering a trip to Italy in the future, this video may help your decision! 

Top contributor iDrone Aerials, whose work has been nominated for the Drone Video Awards, created this beautiful reel from a Spring Break trip to Greece.  The video features footage from both of the main groups of Greek islands - Corfu on the Ionian Sea and Santorini in the Aegean - as well as some epic shots of the Parthenon and other sights of Athens on the mainland.  The video features a mix of drone and ground camera footage, and combines some excellent editing to make a highly entertaining trip reel. 

Former DVOW Winner timroosjen brings us this stunning aerial tour of the landscapes and seascapes of Cyprus, Greece.  At the :23 mark, there's a great shot of the Cape Greco headland, at the southeastern tip of the island.  At around the :40 mark, you'll see the wreck of the Edro III, which ran aground near Pegeia at the western tip of the island in 2011.  At the 1:07 mark, there's a dramatic shot of the cliffs around Cape Aspro on the southwestern coast.  Other highlights include the Troodos Mountains (1:26) and Aphrodite's Rock (1:42).
