Hong Kong is one of the most important cities in Southeast Asia and indeed the world. It's one of nine cities to receive one of the top two Alpha City designations by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. Under the treaty which transferred control of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom in 1997, the great Asian city operates as an autonomous region of China. With over 7 million inhabitants packed into 2.8k square km (just under 1.1k square mi), it is one of the most densely populated places on earth. This density has given rise to a cityscape which is generally considered to be at the top of the list of the world’s top skylines in terms of the number of skyscrapers. It is also one of the world's busiest seaports. These drone videos of Hong Kong will give you a bird's eye perspective of this amazing world-city, which was recent voted #1 on the US News & World Report list of the best places to visit in Asia.
