Each and every week brings a new wave of fantastic FPV videos to AirVuz, and we have the fun job of watching it all to share the best of the best with our enthusiastic AirVuz community. We take our sweet time to then pick a short list of FPV pilots to feature each week, and we pack them into this cool reel because those we select are no doubt committed, talented, and they share their wares here on AirVuz (this is where the best FPV footy lives, after all). So be a sport and *show your support* with a Like, Comment, and a Follow.

G.O.P.L.A.T -- Freestyling an Abandoned Gas and Oil Platform!

Since the dawn of drone racing, many of the best first person view (FPV) drone videos have been filmed in (and around and over) abandoned properties of various shapes and sizes. While early "bandos" focused on closed factories and commercial buildings, FPV pilots have become more and more creative in terms of accessing unusual sites. Enter former DRL Champion Nurkfpv. One of the great FPV pioneers, he managed to get access to an offshore oil and gas platform to create this highly cinematic and entertaining video.

In the Spring of 2020, with many cities under extreme social distancing measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, first person view (FPV) pilots were able to capture eerie scenes of seemingly empty neighborhoods that would ordinarily be packed with people. An example is the Japantown neighborhood of San Francisco, California. Its outdoor spaces were almost completely devoid of people when top AirVuz contributor InspireFPV created this amazing and highly cinematic FPV view of one of the world's largest Japanese enclaves.

Former Drone Video of the Week winner and pilot DiamondSky created this fantastic video from South Africa. Shot with a combination of drone and ground camera footage, the focus of much of the first part of the video is the country's abundant safari wildlife, with some particularly epic elephant footage. You'll also be treated to some amazing first person view (FPV) footage from the coastline near Cape Town, and the end of the video features some incredible views from inside a giant canyon.

With the streets of Boston, Massachusetts nearly empty in early April, 2020 due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, first person view (FPV) pilot troncat_fpv used the occasion to create this rather haunting but fascinating video from America's oldest city. Filming in the Back Bay area around Copley Square, he used his racing quad to dive some of the city's most prominent skyscrapers, including the John Hancock Tower; at 240 meters (790 ft.) it's the tallest building in the New England region as of 2020.

Matching up some fearless wingsuiting with a highly skilled drone pilot sounds like an epic way to spend the day in our book. Check out the fantastic perspective gained when professional wingsuit pilot Joe Lohmuller was chased down the cliff by the very talented drone pilot VerJanFPV. His undeniably fast quadcopter kept some pretty sweet lines as it raced after the Lohmiller, and of course, the GoPro caught all of those important angles (and sounds like kudos go to WestPsydeFPV for some help on the editing).

If you've ever witnessed a Nitro Circus event, you know those guys DO NOT hold back, and it turns out, neither does FPV pilot Ruben Caser. He showed interest in pairing their fearless stunts with his finely tuned flying, and the final product - this video - shows the reward for their collaboration. Watch as BMX daredevils Kurtis Downs, Ryan Williams and Dusty Wygle get chased by those boss freestyle moves, proving that Ruben Caser is a real force in the AirVuz FPV community.

Check out this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video from a trip to the Peloponnese region of southern Greece, compliments of AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Orbi_FPV. One of the first sequences is from a flight through the Corinth Canal, which turned the Peloponnese from a peninsula into an island when it was cut through the Isthmus of Corinth in the late 1800's. Other featured spots include the Dmitrios shipwreck in Laconia, the lighthouse at the tip of Cape Matapan, and more.

Longboarding is an action sport which is made for drones. Specifically, first person view (FPV) drones, which have the speed and maneuverability to keep up with longboarders capable of reaching speeds of 100 km/hr (60 mph) or more. To see what we're talking about, check out this amazing video by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot nikofilmz. He was able to use a racing quad to film a group of longboarders coming full-barrel down a hill in Colorado in the USA's Rocky Mountains region.

An inflight hot air balloon and an empty Holmenkollbakken ski jump in Oslo, Norway seemed to come together for a perfect FPV freestyling session, courtesy of drone pilot Evolve_fpv. Watch as he first cruises over and around the beautiful balloon, only to then to show off his dynamic moves around the historic ski jump structure itself, built in 1892. This pilot is known for great flights over the gems found in his home country. Kudos for making it back to our FPV Pilots to Watch list in April 2020, evolve_fpv!

Check out this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video of one of the architectural landmarks of New York City: the Dakota. AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Sparkitekt used a racing quad to film the famous apartment co-operative, which is located at the intersection of Central Park West and 72nd St. on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Completed in 1881, the Dakota was the site of one of the most shocking crimes of the 20th century: the gunshot murder of Beatles great John Lennon on December 8, 1980.
