Bird's Eye Views of Atlanta

Check out this fantastic drone video/timelapse of Atlanta, Georgia, compliments of top AirVuz contributor FrameworkFilms.  The first part of the video features excellent aerial dronelapse footage of the Downtown district, including some great indoor shots at the iconic Peachtree Westin hotel.  At the 1:30 mark, there's a great shot looking west toward the Atlanta Eye Ferris wheel and beyond that Mercedes-Benz Stadium.  Another highlight is at the 2:15 mark, with a shot looking northeast from Downtown toward the Midtown district.

Top contributor BBloss created this fantastic one minute aerial tour of Atlanta, the informal regional capital of the Southeastern USA.  Situated in north central Georgia, the city is the center of a vast metropolitan area which numbers up to 7 million depending on definition.  Atlanta is home to the world's busiest airport, and is a major corporate headquarters city.  It is home to three central business districts (Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead) as well as numerous satellite "mini-cores" in its suburbs.  

Atlanta, Georgia is the largest city in the Southeastern USA.  Home to the world's busiest airport, Atlanta is the primary transportation hub for the region.  Home to some of the country's largest corporations, the city rose to international prominence when it hosted the Olympic Game in 1996.  In this video, contributor Marco Hernandez gives us a remarkable aerial tour of this southern metropolis, which as a much smaller city was famously burned to the ground during the US Civil War and was later the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Bumble Bee Productions put together this marvelous city reel from a year's worth of droning in and around Atlanta, Georgia.  The video features footage of many of the top sights in this Southeastern USA metropolis, including daytime and nighttime shots of the Downtown and Midtown skylines, the Atlanta Ferris Wheel in Centennial Park, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Georgia State Capitol Building, Bobby Dodd Stadium at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and some of the vast suburban landscape that sprawls north of the city.  

Check out this inspiring drone video from Atlanta, Georgia under community quarantine during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Spring of 2020.  Shot by contributor Marco Hernandez, the video shows the nearly-empty streets of the great Southeastern USA city as social distancing measures resulted in nearly empty streets and outdoor public spaces in its central business districts.  While the southern Georgia town of Albany was hard-hit, as of early May the Atlanta area was seeing fewer infections and deaths per capita than most major US cities.

Check out these marvelous sunset aerial views of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, compliments of contributor and drone pilot Every Day Drone Guy.  The video features great drone footage of virtually all of the tallest buildings in the downtown district of the city, the de facto capital of the Southeastern USA region: SunTrust Plaza, 191 Peachtree Tower, the Westin Peachtree Plaza, the Georgia Pacific Tower, One Coca Cola Plaza, Two Peachtree Building, the Georgia State Capitol Building, and more.  

Talented content creator Bumble Bee Productions used the new DJI Mavic 3 to create this beautiful mini-tour of Atlanta, Georgia.  At about the :36 mark, you'll fly past the Lenox Square area in the heart of the Buckhead Commercial District, and at around 1:03 you'ss see the Atlantic Station area on the northwestern outskirts of Midtown. Starting at around 1:38, there's a great shot of the Atlanta Skyview observation wheel in Centennial Park.  Other locations include Mercedes-Banz Stadium (2:50) and Ponce City Market (3:08).

Check out this great aerial video of Atlanta, Georgia, compliments of every day drone guy.  Near the beginning of the video you'll be treated to some great footage of the top of the 55 story Bank of America Plaza; completed in 1992, it stands 312 meters (1,023 ft.) and is the tallest building in the Southeastern USA as of 2019.  Then you'll be taken over SunTrust Plaza, also completed in 1992, which is Atlanta's second-tallest. Other highlights include some excellent footage of Centennial Park and the SkyView ferris wheel.   

Content creator AtlantaDroneGroup is one of the top professional aerial videography companies in the Atlanta, Georgia area.  In this very well-done reel, they show the breadth of the work that they do for their clients.  In addition to some great action footage involving (among other things) Lamborghini's and marathon races, there is some great footage from the city of Atlanta.  The video opens with a great shot of the downtown area, and at about the :45 mark there's another nice view of CNN Plaza.  

Piedmont Park is one of the great green spaces of Atlanta, Georgia.  Seen here in this drone video by contributor and pilot Bumble Bee Productions, it's located east and a bit north of the Midtown area and a bit less than 2 km (around a mile) northeast of Downtown.  The park was built in the late 19th century as the venue for the 1887 Piedmont Exposition, a sort of "coming out" party for Atlanta as it emerged from the Reconstruction.  The park covers about 90 acres and has numerous recreational areas and facilities.  

Bumble Bee Productions created this excellent sunset drone video of Atlanta's Midtown district, a sort of satellite downtown which sits about a kilometer (less than a mile) north of the main downtown district, on the opposite side of I-85.  Somewhat unusually for an American city, the Midtown District is home to some of the city's tallest buildings, including the Bank of America Plaza (the city's, and indeed the US Southeast's tallest building) and One Atlantic Center (its third-tallest).  

Take in these beautiful sunrise drone views of the Buckhead district of Atlanta, Georgia, compliments of AirVuz contributor atlantadroneguy.  Covering roughly the northernmost 20% of the city, central Buckhead is considered Atlanta's third central business district, along with Midtown and Downtown.  Located at the confluence of several of Atlanta's most important highways and roads, central Buckhead features a mix of office, residential and hotel towers in addition to some of Atlanta's most upscale shopping areas. 

Check out these beautiful 4k drone views of Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, compliments of AirVuz contributor Bumble Bee Productions.  The home of the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, the retractable-roof stadium opened in 2017 on a site adjacent to the old (and now demolished) Georgia Dome, just west of the city's Downtown district.   One of the most expensive stadiums ever built, the venue has normal seating capacity for 71k fans, and can be configured to seat up to 75k.  M-B Stadium hosted Super Bowl LIII in 2019. 

In this drone video by contributor capture_a_moment, you'll get an informative 40 second aerial tour of Atlanta, Georgia in April.  The video opens with a great shot of the Olympic logo near Turner Field south of downtown, which was originally Olympic Stadium where many of the events of the 1996 Olympic Games were held.  From there you'll get some nice views of downtown, of the city's extensive freeway system, the giant convention center, and the Centennial Olympic Park and its giant ferris wheel.    

This outstanding drone video from Atlanta, Georgia by top contributor Bumble Bee Productions opens with a shot looking northwest through a forest of new residential projects in the city's Midtown district towards the pyramid-shaped roofs of One Atlantic Center (left) and the GLG Grand (right), the city's #3 and #11 tallest buildings, respectively, as of  2022.    Starting at about the :53 mark, there's a nice shot looking toward the Bank of America Plaza, the city's tallest, and the video wraps with shots from the Downtown district.  

Top content creator and pilot Marco Hernandez used a DJI Inspire 2 drone to record the demolition of the Georgia Dome.  Opened in 1992, the stadium served as the home field for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.  It was the only stadium in the world to have hosted the Super Bowl, the Olympics, and the NCAA Final Four tournament.  Located just west of downtown Atlanta, the stadium was demolished by implosion following the completion of Mercedes-Benz Stadium on an adjacent site.

The northern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia are home to numerous "edge cities" which have sprung up, mostly near key highway interchanges.  In this drone video by every day drone guy, you'll get a nice aerial view of a major development called the Concourse at Landmark Center.  It's part of a development called Perimeter Center, which covers parts of three cities in Fulton County. The Concourse is situated near the junction of Interstate 285 and Georgia Highway 400, two of metro Atlanta's busiest freeways.  

Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park is situated on the northwestern outskirts of the city's downtown district.  Created as a public gathering spot for the 1996 Summer Olympics, the park was the site of the infamous pipe bomb explosion which occurred midway through the Games, killing two and injuring about a dozen.  The home of the giant SkyView Atlanta Ferris Wheel since 2013, the park continues to be one of the city's most popular attractions.  In this drone video by Bumble Bee Productions, you'll get a bird's eye view of the park.

Check out these beautiful sunrise drone views of some of the tallest skyscrapers in Atlanta's Midtown District, compliments of atlantadroneguy.  Starting at the :15 mark, you'll see the top of the 50 story One Atlantic Center, the city's third-tallest building as of 2019.  At about 1:10, you'll get an over-the-top view of 1180 Peachtree; home of the giant King & Spaulding law firm, followed by a great view of the Promenade II building at around 1:35; as of 2019, these are the city's #10 and #7  buildings by height, respectively.

With a combination of FPV drone footage and camera drone footage, pilot Jake Duben brings us Atlanta, Georgia. Hotlanta, as it is known, has never looked better than from above. His DJI Mavic Pro and DJI Phantom 4 will bring us stunning shots of the city’s skyline including Bank of America Plaza (one of the USA's tallest buildings), the Peachtree buildings, and the site of the 1996 Olympic Games. Then his custom built 5-inch racer quad will send it with skyscraper dives and a flight through the infamous “office park.”

Atlanta's Bobby Dodd Stadium is the home of the Georgia Institute of Technology men's football team, the Yellow Jackets.  With the original field dating to 1905, Bobby Dodd has the distinction of being the oldest continuously-operated college football stadium in the (famously college football friendly) Southeastern USA.  In this drone video by Bumble Bee Productions, you'll get a bird's eye view of the 55k seat stadium, which is located on the Georgia Tech campus a bit north of downtown.    

Here's a nice aerial view of one of the central districts of Atlanta, Georgia, compliments of contributor and pilot icecolddrone.  It was filmed around the Midtown area, which is a sort of "satellite downtown" north of the core downtown area.  It's home to some of the city's tallest skyscrapers, and in recent years has developed one of the strongest arts scenes anywhere in the Southeastern USA.  Its development was closely tied to widening of the Downtown Connector (Interstate 75-85) in the 1980's.    

Mainfocus media created this short but well-done piece from downtown Atlanta, Georgia.  The centerpiece of the video is the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, whose circular profile makes it one of the city's most-recognized landmarks.  The 73 story tower has a roof height of about 220 meters (just under 725 ft.).  When it opened in 1977, it was the tallest hotel in the world, and it was Atlanta's tallest for over a decade.  It's located on Peachtree Street, Atlanta's most important thoroughfare.

Atlanta is all about moving people and things.  It's the home of the world's busiest airport, the center of the Southeastern USA's rail network, and it sports some of the country's busiest freeways.  In this drone video by tchao88, you'll get a bird's eye view of one of the city's legendary highway interchanges.  It's the spot where Interstate Highways 85 and 285 meet, a bit to the southwest of Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.  It's one of the USA's busiest freeway interchanges.  

No one shoots Atlanta quite like local content contributor and drone pilot Bumble Bee Productions. After a long stint of traveling, he wanted to put together a piece highlighting the beauty of Hotlanta at night. Notable architecture seen in this piece includes The Westin Peachtree Plaza (the city's tallest building for nearly 15 years), Bank of America Plaza (Atlanta's tallest since 1992), Suntrust Plaza, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium (as of 2019, the newest stadium in the National Football League).  

AirVuz contributor and pilot Bumble Bee Productions brings us this excellent drone video from the Lenox area of Atlanta.  Lenox is the commercial core of Buckhead, the upscale mixed-use district which is essentially an "edge city" at the northern end of Atlanta.  As you'll see in the video, Lenox sports an impressive skyline of its own; it's considered the third-largest business district of the city, after the Midtown and Downtown areas.  It's also home to Lenox Square, one of the nation's premiere upscale shopping malls.  

Top AirVuz contributor Bumble Bee Productions brings us this excellent drone video of the Georgia State Capitol building in Atlanta.  Located just south of Downtown Atlanta, the structure was completed on 1889 on land which had previously been the site of Atlanta's first city hall.  In addition to housing the state's two legislative chambers, the offices of the governor and lieutenant-governors, and other administrative functions, the Capitol is also home to a museum.   The building has been designated a National Historic Landmark.  

The Georgia Aquarium was the world's largest from 2005-12 and is a major attraction in Atlanta.  Funded largely by Home Depot founder Bernard Marcus, the aquarium is home to hundreds of species and its individual aquarium tanks hold 38k cubic meters of water (around 10 million US gallons).  Seen here in this drone video by Bumble Bee Productions, the aquarium is located in downtown Atlanta, just north of the Centennial Olympic Park.  It's particularly well known for its whale shark exhibit, the only such exhibit outside of Asia.  

Now this is one heck of a dronie location! Drone pilot jcmrgoodlife is taking us out to Atlanta, Georgia and taking in a very familiar place for any American football fan: home of the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons, Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The stadium opened in 2017, is home to the world’s largest video board and is one of only five stadiums in the NFL with a retractable roof. The roof is made up of eight triangular translucent panels that, when opening, create the illusion of a bird’s wings extending.

AirVuz contributor and pilot Bumble Bee Productions brings us this excellent nighttime Christmastime drone view of the great city of Atlanta, Georgia.  At the :40 mark, there's a nice shot looking south down the Central Artery (I-75/85), with Midtown's One Atlantic Center on the left and beyond it the Bank of America Plaza (the city's third-tallest and tallest buildings, respectively).  Further on, you'll be treated to views of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Promenade II skyscraper in Midtown, the SkyView Ferris Wheel, and more.  

In this moving video by AirVuz contributor AJ, you'll see the great city of Atlanta, Georgia under quarantine during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Spring of 2020. Shot during the nighttime, the video shows how the city has instituted a "light it blue" campaign as a show of public recognition for the front-line healthcare workers.  Part of a nationwide campaign, it was widely adopted in this important regional city: prominent landmarks, such as Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Atlanta SkyView ferris wheel, were fully decked out in blue.
