The Grangent Lake .

The Grangent dam is a hydroelectric dam built on the Loire between 1955 and 1957, downstream from Aurec-sur-Loire (Haute-Loire) and upstream from Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert (Loire). It is a concrete arch-gravity dam1 with granite foundations, allowing a road crossing. The artificial reservoir it creates, Lake Grangent, has allowed the creation of recreational activities (port and sandy beach) downstream from Saint-Victor-sur-Loire, thus flooding part of the Gorges de la Loire2.
