Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey is an autonomous Benedictine abbey located on the Montserrat mountain range in Catalonia (Spain). The abbey is part of the Spanish province of the Congregation of Subiaco, within the Benedictine confederation. This place of pilgrimage is essential since the Middle Ages as the first Marian shrine of Catalonia.
