AirVuz contributor nshabarkov brings us this excellent drone video of a famous fortress in Bulgaria. It's called Baba Vida, and it's located on the banks of the Danube River in Vidin, in the northwestern corner of the country. Dating to the 10th century and built on the site of an older Roman fortification, it's the best-preserved medieval castle in this Southeast European country. The fortification played an important role in the centuries-long struggles between Bulgarian, Byzantine, Ottoman, and other forces for control of the region.

The Baba Vida fortress, on the bank of the river Danube, is an iconic landmark in the country and important medieval castle for Bulgarian history.
