THE AMELIA ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE was temporarily closed when I visited the site, and due to the surrounding dense canopy, I had to launch the DJI Mini 3 Pro several streets away.  This caused numerous weak signal alerts, which eliminated me from getting ground-level footage.  Still, I was able to photograph this beautifully small lighthouse whose long history can be read below.

History:  The Amelia Island Lighthouse, built in 1838, is Florida's oldest operating lighthouse and was constructed with bricks from the Cumberland Island Lighthouse. It was automated in 1970, and the U.S. Coast Guard currently operates the beacon, with the City of Fernandina Beach responsible for its preservation since 2001. The lighthouse marks the entrance to the St. Marys River and Fernandina Harbor, and while access to the top is restricted, public tours of the grounds are available.
