Iquitos is the primary city of northeastern Peru and essentially the capital of the Amazonian portion of the country. Peru's ninth largest city by population, the city sits on the great river, whose headwaters lie to the west and southwest of the city. Among other things, it serves as one of the main gateways for travelers heading into the rainforest which covers a sizeable percentage of the country's surface area.

The heart of the Peruvian Amazon, the city of Iquitos. The largest city in the world unreachable by road. We did a 3 day excursion to one of the jungle lodges, here we got to see multiple sloths in the wild and got the chance to hang-out with the local sloth/my new best friend "Pepe". Unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to see a Anaconda, but we did see loads of Pink & Grey dolphins, huge frogs, countless birds, tons of spiders, an aligator and even an very poisonous snake. It was a wonderfull experience to explore the beauty of the Amazon River, Big thanks to our guide Gary who managed to keep us alive!!
