Sunrise on Lake Shikotsu, Hokkaido Japan
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Check out this drone video of Japan's Lake Shikotsu, which sits in a caldera (volcano crater) on the northern island of Hokkaido. It's located near the city of Chitose in the Ishikari Subprefecture, which covers part of southern Hokkaido. Part of the Shikotsu-Tōya National Park, the lake covers a surface area of about 78 square km (around 30 square mi.); with a maximum depth of 363 meters (just under 1.2k ft.), it's Japan's second-deepest lake after Lake Tazawa. The lake's caldera was formed 40-50,000 years ago.

I was planning to go to shoot the first sunrise on New Year's Day, but the weather forecast was snow, so I went to shoot the first sunrise of 2021 on the 2nd. I took off from near the Lake Shikotsu Tourist Center and took a footage. The temperature was 16 degrees below freezing, so I warmed the battery in advance and took off. Because the temperature was low, a "Kearashi" was occurring. I was able to see the orange Kearashi in the morning sun. *Kearashi:evaporative fog
