Skelton Park Ironstone Mine

Showcasing an aerial 4K video of local ironstone mine built around 1870 the Skelton Park Iron Stone mine was located on the deepest part of the Cleveland seem supposedly 3.1m deep with 31% iron content to that of Eston Hills 33% first exploited by Henry Bolckow and John Vaughan in the 1850's. Skelton Park Mine stopped production in 1938 having produced 18,555.000 tons of iron stone. Skelton Park Mine was named the best iron mining site at national level and its 5 main buildings were classed as grade II listed.
