Sherco Power Plant, Becker, Minnesota

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Gopherdrone used a DJI Mavic Pro 2 to aerially film the Sherburne County Generating Station, located on the Mississippi River in central Minnesota. Known as Sherco, its units have a combined capacity of over 2.2 gigawatts, putting it at #19 among US coal plants, and #3 outside of the Southeast and the Ohio River Valley. It consumes about 30k tons of Powder River Basin coal per day, or about three 100-car trains’ worth.
