San Francisco City Hall and Civic Center Historic District

The heart of San Francisco is the Civic Center area around the intersection of Market Street and Van Ness Avenue, just southwest of the Financial District.  The centerpiece of the Civic Center area is the magnificent domed San Francisco City Hall.  The landmark was completed in 1915 as a replacement for its predecessor building, which was destroyed in the great 1906 San Francisco Earthquake.  Seen here in this drone video by Grigori6032, the behmoth covers two full square blocks and has a dome which is taller than the US Capitol Building.
