Rzev Memorial

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

The Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier is an important landmark commemorating one of the great battles of the Great Patriotic War, as World War II is called in Russia.  Located in the oblast (province) of Tver northwest of Moscow, the statue was completed in 2020.  It's dedicated to the memory of the hundreds of thousands of Red Army soldiers killed in the Battles of Rzhev, a series of bloody clashes which ran for 14 months beginning in January, 1942.  See it from above in this fantastic drone video by AirVuz contributor Supasanya.
