Home to some of the highest peaks of the greater Carpathian Mountains system, the Southern Carpathans form the natural boundaries between the country's Transylvania and Wallachia regions. The video features footage from three distinct Southern Carpathian subchains: the Piatra Craiului Mountains (southwest of Brasov), the Făgăraș Mountains (to their west), and the Bucegi Mountains (to the southeast).
